H.W. ‘Buck’ Julien
H.W. “Buck” Julien, 79, passed away in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., on Saturday, June 3, 2000, due to complications of surgery.
He was born in Newcastle, Wyo., on Aug. 5, 1921, to Warren and Mata Julien.
As a youth he worked with his Swedish immigrant father as a stone mason on many Yellowstone Park and University of Wyoming buildings and structures.
After graduating from Newcastle High School in 1938, he attended Black Hills State Univ. and the Univ. of Wyoming, continuing on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-29 pilot and flight instructor during WWII.
Buck met Rose Marie White while attending college and they were later married
on Christmas Eve of 1942 in Albuquerque, N.M.
After the war, they returned to Newcastle where they built a home, started their family and founded Julien Construction Company.
In 1959, Buck and Rose Marie moved to Cody where they worked to become one of the largest commercial building contractors in Wyoming.
Work included West Park Hospital and Long Term Care Center, the Plains Indian Museum, much of Northwest Community College, Christ Church Episcopal and many other churches, schools and commercial buildings throughout the state.
Harold was also a rancher and livestock producer.
Buck was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, hunting big game throughout the world.
He cherished the time he spent in the mountains with his horses, hunting, fishing and shooting with family and friends.
He was a member of the Boone and Crockett Club, Cody Shooting Complex, Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and numerous other outdoor organizations.
As a local businessman, Buck served for many years on the board of directors of the Shoshone First Bank and was a past president of the Wyoming Contractors Association.
He was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks, the Cody Lions Club, the Shriner’s, and the Cody Director’s Club.
Buck is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie; daughters, Debra and Mariesa; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathleen; granddaughters, Anna, Heather and Jessie; and a sister, Teresa Schaffer of Loveland, Colo.
A memorial service will he held at Christ Church Episcopal on Friday, June 16, at 1:00 p.m.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or the family will distribute those received to local charities.

EKALAKA – Leonard Mumedy, 89, died on Friday, June 9, 2000 at the Holy Rosary Health Care Center in Miles City.
A Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Carter County High School.
Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery.
Hans Boyum
CIRCLE – Hans Boyum, 87, died June 9, 2000, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the First Lutheran Church.
Inurnment will be at the Riverview cemetery.
Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge.
Thomas K. Allen
DECKER – Thomas K. Allen, 46, died of injuries sustained in a truck rollover accident south of Decker near the Montana-Wyoming Border.
Cremation has taken place in the Bullis-Eastern Montana Crematory.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is in charge.
Ruth Simpson Gilberti
ALIQUIPPA, Pa. – Memorial services for Ruth Simpson Gilberti, 78, formerly of Roundup, Mont., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roundup.
Interment will follow at the New Miners cemetery.
Fred Kutzler
VERNAL, Utah – Fred Kutzler, age 51, formerly of Glendive, died on Thursday, June 8, 2000, from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident near Vernal, Utah.
A memory service for family and friends will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Howard Schreibeis officiating.
Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial cemetery in Glendive.

Alvina E. Baier
GLENDIVE – Alvina E. Baier, 72, died on Saturday, June 10, 2000, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive.
Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial cemetery.

Goodlie Dixon
BUFFALO, Wyo. – Goldie Dixon, 99 died in her sleep June 10, 2000, at the Amie Holt Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 16, from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel.
A private family interment will follow in the Willow Grove cemetery in Buffalo.
Michael M. Bruski
Michael M. Bruski, 82, of Billings died June 9, 2000.
Mike was born in Wibaux, Mont., on April 7, 1918, to John and Kathryn (Kierzk) Bruski.
He was raised and educated in Wibaux.
Following high school graduation he was employed as a truck driver for H F Johnson in Laurel.

Eleen Freund Aug. 18, 1942 in Laurel, Mont..
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 reaching the rank of staff sergeant.
They lived for a short time in Salt Lake City and settled in Billings where he worked as a carpenter with various contractors until his retirement in 1980.
Then he worked from his garage on Projects Unlimited.
He was a member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus and 50 year member of Carpenter Local 1172.
Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, bowling and watching his grandkids’ varied extracurricular activities.
He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to play cribbage.
Survivors included Eleen his wife of 57 years; son, Michael G. (Betty); daughter, Cheryl Tehle (Mike); son, John (Pat); grandchildren, Robert (Diane) and Susan Tehle, Tony, Bree and Bill Bruski; great granddaughter, Casey Tehle; sisters, Francis and Vicky; brothers, Tony, Andy and Chet; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Bernadine and Mary; and infant son, George.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Dahl Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. June 13 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with interment following at Holy Cross cemetery.
Robert ‘Bob’ Gerald Marcus
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Mr. Robert "Bob" Gerald Marcus, age 53, of Alpharetta, Ga., died June 1, 2000.
Survivors include his sister, Lynne Nesbitt and nephew, Bryan Nesbitt both of Alpharetta, aunt Betsy and uncle Wayne Marcus of Big Timber, Mont., aunt Cherrie and uncle Woodrow Marcus of Lacey, Wash., aunts Mrs. Libby Wikstrom, Mesa, Ariz., and Ms. Ann Sulyma, Port Carbon, Pa.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Erland and Martha Marcus.
Memorial services were held Saturday, June 3, in Alpharetta.
Interment will take place at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National cemetery in August.
