Michal Shelton
Michal Ruth Shelton, 63, of Missoula died at her home on Thursday, December 01, 2005.
She was born on August 22, 1942 to Andrew T. and Esther (Powers) Peterson.
She graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City, MT.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Great Falls, and attended the New Hope Christian Fellowship in Missoula.
Michal enjoyed quilting, playing the piano and she was an avid sports fan.
She was married
to Dennis R. Hirning of Billings.
She later married
Ronald G. Shelton on October 18, 2002.
Her mother and father and twin sisters Sally Taggart and Sybil J. Lamb preceded Michal in death.
Michal is survived by her husband Ronald of Missoula; a son, Dan (Kelley) Hirning of Missoula; and a daughter Melanie (Ken) Webel of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren and a brother Jimmie P. Peterson of Libby; a sister Nancy B. Wilson of Florence and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Florence-Carlton Community Church in Florence on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at the church following visitation at 12 noon.
Burial will be in the Carlton cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Florence-Carlton Church.

Margaret 'Betty' Davis
Margaret E. "Betty" Davis 74, of Stevensville died at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls on December 1, 2005.
She was born on October 30, 1931 in Missoula and was the daughter of Birch and Sara Lavina (Joseph) Farmer.
Betty graduated from Stevensville High School in 1949.
She graduated suma cum laude, earning a Masters Degree in Communications, from Eastern Washington University at Cheney, WA.
She was a certified Duncan Ceramics teacher.
Betty worked for Montana radio and television stations from 1950 to 1972 in sales production and broadcasting, including KGVO, KFBB, KMON and KARR/KOPR.
She produced award- winning commercials for Montana grocery stores.
She worked for Cascade County Sheriff's Dept. and was a volunteer trainer for the Great Falls Civil Defense program in the 1960s.
She opened Creative Clay in Spokane, WA and taught ceramic and china painting techniques in the 1970s.
She worked for Spokane Chamber of Commerce and was the Executive Director of the Main Street Program in Pullman, Washington (1980s).
She was employed by the publication and library departments of Eastern Washington University (1990s).
For the last several years she was the Director of the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority in Hamilton, MT.
Betty belonged to Ad Club, Eastern Star, Rebekahs, Episcopal Church, Duncan Teachers Association and the Spokane Photography Club.
She was an accomplished artist in watercolor, pastels, china paints, ceramic arts, and photography.
She enjoyed party and wedding cake decorating, candy making and gourmet cooking.
She was also an accomplished seamstress and knitter.
She was a pianist and vocalist.
She sang as a soloist in church choirs and when she was younger, sang soprano in the Great Falls Symphonic Choir.
She was a loving mother, raising three of her own children and three stepchildren.
Betty was very civic minded, taking great pride in helping communities develop to their full potential.
She enjoyed volunteering her time for various community projects.
She was especially interested in genealogy and the arts.
She loved sharing her knowledge with others, truly a teacher at heart.
A son, Mark Allin Murphy, preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters Micheale Wigen, Great Falls and Colleen Murphy-Colbert of Helena; a stepson, Jon Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9 at 2 p.m. at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville with Rev. Carolyn Kuhr officiating.
Burial will be at the Riverside cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Masonic Lodge in Stevensville.
Memorials may be made in Betty's name to help breast cancer research, to the Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 65309, Dallas TX 75265-0309.
Herbert Niesslein
1925-2006
Herbert Michael Niesslein, 80, of Stevensville, died at Valley View Estates Nursing Home in Hamilton on Thursday, March 23, 2006.
He was born on September 27, 1925 in Barbing, Germany.
Herb is survived by his wife Maria of Stevensville; two children: Raymond Niesslein of Stevensville and Renate Munn of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandchildren.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Lena May Swigert
1918-2006
Lena May Swigert, 87, of Missoula, died at her home on Monday, March 20, 2006.
She was born on May 17, 1918, at Albany, Missouri to Jesse and Elizabeth (Comer) McCrory.
She received her early education in Albany.
Lena and Alvin B. Swigert were married
on January 18, 1950.
They raised five children, and lived at their present home for 53 years.
They farmed and raised many farm animals during this time.
Lena's passion was her family.
She enjoyed raising poultry, sewing and gardening.
She and Alvin loved country music, and danced many weekends.
Lena will be remembered as being a marvelous homemaker and dedicated wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Louise Farrow and brother Bob McCrory.
Lena is survived by her husband Alvin of Missoula; sons Daniel Swigert of Missoula, Alvin J. (Jerry) Swigert of Boyd, MT and daughters Linda Rooney, Missoula, Karen (Trent) Fairclough of Missoula and Shirley (John) Boxley of Manning, S.C.
Also surviving are grandchildren Jenny, Chris, Rick, Sherry, (Shirley May), Pat and Bonita and four great grandchildren and three nephews.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Victor cemetery.

Mary Wentz
1919-2006
Mary J. Wentz, 86, left this earth to return to eternal life with her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 19, 2006. She died of breast cancer.
She was born on November 3, 1919, in Irwin, Ohio and was the daughter of Vance Alva and Florence (Scott) Jordan.
As a girl she lived in Ohio and Montana. She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1937.
On November 19, 1937 she married
James R. Miltibarger.
The couple lived in Michigan where their two daughters were born during WW II.
The family moved back to Montana when the war ended.
Jim died in 1980 and Mary later married
Richard Wentz in 1981.
Mary worked for Hagan Potatoes in the Stevensville area for many years.
Later she went to work for North Valley Nursing Home doing the work she dearly loved.
She continued her employment with the nursing home for 19 years.
Mary also loved working with small children and was a foster grandparent through the Aging Services in the Head Start Program.
Mary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Peone, Arlee and Florence Lindsley, Missoula; sister Doris McDaniel, Grants Pass, OR; stepsister Joanne Salyer, Stevensville and stepbrother George Juhnke, Missoula.
Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 22 at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville with Bishop Steve Smith officiating.
Burial followed at the Victor cemetery.
