Barbara M. Hoskins

Barbara May Hoskins, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, August 16, 2015.
A celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Great Falls, MT. The Reverend Steve Mix will officiate.
Barbara was born on December 30, 1925, in Boulder, MT, to Edward and Martha Menard. She graduated from Butte High School, attended college at the University of Montana and Western Montana College. Barbara taught school in Lima and Great Falls.
Survivors include children Melissa (Ron) Evenson, Rapid City, SD, Leslie (Robin) Stoebe, Billings, MT, and Mark (Becky) Hoskins, Great Falls, MT; sisters Jean Sanderson, Lafayette, CO and Betty (Darrell) Lalanne, Butte, MT; brother Edward (Sharon) Menard, Lafayette, CO; five grandchildren Kyle (Amber) Evenson of Marinette, WI, Erik (Mary) Evenson of Seattle, WA, Heather (Matt) Hoosier of Olathe, KS, Adrienne (Tom) Raczkowski of Billings, MT, and Megan (Patrick) LaPoint of Vancouver, WA; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoskins was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Halbert Hoskins.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church or WorldVenture, Littleton, CO, on behalf of granddaughter Megan (Patrick) LaPoint, missionary to Japan.

Terence C. Helseth
August 22, 2015

Great Falls —Terence C. “Terry” Helseth, 77, of Great Falls, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 from cancer.
A celebration of his life will be held at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1617 6th Ave. N., on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
Terry was born July 13, 1938 in Veblen, South Dakota. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran College and Augustana Seminary. Terry was a pastor for 51 years. He pastored in Dagmar, Montana and in Great Falls at St. John Lutheran Church and for the last 28 years at Vineyard Christian Fellowship. Terry served the Lord by loving people from all different walks of life. He had a heart for people and was sincerely interested in knowing them and showing God’s love for them. He wanted to share his living hope in Jesus.
Terry enjoyed building his cabin and spending time with his family at Echo Lake. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his fruit trees. Terry was known by all for his dry sense of humor and quick wit. Everywhere Terry went he was gifted in conversation and making friends.
Terry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; his two children Chris (Kim) and Allison (Josh); five grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. In addition, Terry leaves behind a loving family at Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

Steven R. Brown
August 22, 2015

Steven R. Brown, 66, of Valier, died from a heart attack in Great Falls, on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls. Interment will be at the Ft. Harrison Veteran’s cemetery in Helena. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held in the spring.
Steve was born in Conrad, Montana on May 9, 1949. He was the son of Harold and Beulah (Bliss) Brown. He grew up and attended school in Valier. Steve joined the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam for 18 months. He was the senior helicopter mechanic in his battalion. In 1971 he married Janice Fulton in Moville, Iowa. They had two children and divorced in 1977.
Those who knew Steve, will remember him as a man with a huge laugh and a willing smile. He loved spending time with friends, exchanging jokes and tall tales.
Steve is survived by his children, Brenda Miller and Chris Brown; his grandchildren, Terry, Timothy and Elizabeth Brown, all of Missoula; and his close friends Anthony and Veda Jones of Great Falls. He is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Brown; a sister Betty Klosterboer; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother James “Jimmy” Brown; and his sister Bonnie Papas.

Jessie D. Gendreau
August 31, 2015

Jessie Doris Gendreau, 91, of Great Falls passed away on August 31, 2015 at a local care facility.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home.
Jessie was born November 21, 1923 in Great Falls. She grew up in Great Falls and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1941. She married Jim Gendreau and together they had two daughters, Doris and Manon. The two later divorced. Jessie was very proud of herself for learning how to drive and getting a license at the age of 42.
She worked for Lee Nelson Inc. as the secretary treasurer for close to 20 years. She was also a member of Zonta, Women in Construction, and was a proud member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church her entire life. Jessie dressed, worked, and lived impeccably. Those that knew her remember the fine clothes and shoes. Jessie loved ice cream almost as much as life itself!
Jessie is survived by her daughters, Doris (Bill) Story of McKenzie, TN and Manon Gleason of Great Falls; granddaughter Melanie (Daniel) Morales of El Paso, TX; and great-grandsons Alex and Eli. Jessie also leaves behind the many folks who love her at Benefis where she has lived for the past 12 years. She will be missed.

William "Bill" H. Emerson
August 31, 2015

William “Bill” Harold Emerson, 46, of Vaughn passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 near Loma.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Black Eagle Park. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home.
Bill was born on December 5, 1969 in Valparaiso, Indiana. The family later moved to Helena where he graduated from Helena High School. He was a Construction Superintendent for Dick Anderson Construction for over 24 years and was a proud independent business owner.
Bill had a heart of gold and would volunteer his time to help anyone at any time. He enjoyed creating things with his hands and spending time and laughing with his family and friends. He was also a volunteer board member of the City of Vaughn Water Board.
Bill is survived by his wife, Valerie Angel Emerson of Vaughn; daughters Candace Emerson-Wells, Corinthia Luttrell, and Carissa Emerson; step-sons Vince Lovatto and Jeremy Salvador; mother Janice Lewis; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Emerson.
Memorial donations are suggested to High Woods Vet Services, 1410 24th, Fort Benton, MT, 59442.

Oden Marshall Bennett
September 3, 2015

Oden Marshall Bennett unexpectedly left this world on September 3, 2015; two weeks shy of his first birthday.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at O’Connor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Great Falls Christian Center with burial to follow at Highland cemetery.
Oden was born on September 16, 2014 in Great Falls to Ian and Kattie (Gange) Bennett. His loving older brother and sister, Heath and Kenadi, awaited his birth with joyful expectation along with many friends and family.
Oden had a face that would melt any heart, a smile that would radiate a room, and a giggle that resonated through the air. He touched many lives and gave his family a lifetime of love during his brief time on Earth. He was only just beginning to master using a cup and feeding himself and was trying to prepare for his first steps. We will miss sharing these milestones with our little rosy-cheeked butterball.
Oden is survived by his parents; brother and sister; grandparents Alex and Meeghan Bennett, Tina Childers, Vicki (Brian) Day, and Gerard Gange; great-grandmothers Sheila (Denny) Kohlhepp and Lori Humble; aunts and uncles Nicolette Bennett and Paul Helling, Thomas and Amy Gange, Steven and Tiffany Gange, Kristi Gange, Lillian Childers, and Reace Childers. Oden also had numerous cousins and a large, loving extended family.
His life was brief but a precious gift that will live in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

Lurene Neill

Mae Lurene Neill, 91, of Dutton, Montana, a retired teacher, passed away at Peace Hospice in Great Falls on Sunday, December 20, 2015.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Dutton United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with a graveside service in Stanford at 2 p.m.
Lurene attended high school in Fort Benton and graduated from the College of Great Falls with a teaching diploma. She received a B. S. Degree from Northern Montana College in 1968. She taught 33 years with the last 26 years in Dutton and Stanford. She retired in 1986.
She married her husband, Hugh W. Neill, of nearly 70 years in December of 1945. She loved her family, teaching, gardening and quilting.
Lurene is survived by her sister Evelyn Spoonhiem; children Christine Proff (Alan), Janis McRae (Jerry) and Richard Neill (Angie); grandchildren Rich Proff (Andrea), Melisa McRae, Brian and Kevin Neill; two great grandchildren, Riley and Jacob Proff; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Arthur C. Anderson; sister Bernice Mortenson; and her husband, Hugh, in September 2015.
Memorial gifts are requested to the Great Falls Peace Hospice or the Great Falls Rescue Mission.

Thomas David Roberts

Thomas David Roberts, 62, of Belt passed away peacefully on December 31, 2015 at his home surrounded by all his loved ones.
A memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at the Belt Community Church, 423 Belt Creek Road located in Belt. Services will take place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home.
Tom was born on June 12, 1953 in Kingston, PA to Tom and Marion Roberts. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. He loved the outdoors and took great pride in being a Marine. Tom was hard-working, and dedicated in all he did. He was loyal to a fault, with a heart of gold. He loved his wife and was extremely proud to be a husband, father, and grandfather. Tom and his stories will be dearly missed by all who loved and cherished him. He will forever remain in our hearts and will live on through everyone who he loved and loved him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Frieda Roberts of Belt; mother Marion Roberts of Florida; brothers James Roberts of Pennsylvania and Donny Roberts of North Carolina; sons Tom (Erica) Roberts of Ryegate, Clint Roberts of Great Falls, Jeff Roberts, Alan Roberts, Cole Roberts, and Jaimes Roberts, all of Belt; daughters, Marty (AJ) Feldhauser of Lansing MI, Marion Roberts and Geraldine (Justin) Wallace of Belt; numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Roberts and son David Roberts.

Johanna Wallace
December 26, 2015

Johanna L. (Laumeyer) Wallace, 92, of Great Falls, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Johanna was born on September 9, 1923, in Alton, Illinois to Wilhelm and Sarah (LaMarsh) Laumeyer. She lived in Alton in her early childhood and them her family moved to Whiting, IN, where she graduated from high school.
She moved back to Alton, IL, where she met the love of her life, Robert J. Wallace, and they were married June 28, 1947. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family.
Johanna and Robert moved to Great Falls, Montana in 1974, where she became devoted to volunteering for Presbyterian Women and Great Falls Flower Growers. Her hobbies were knitting, sewing, crafting, traveling and always spending time with her family.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Robert J. Wallace; four children Cathleen A. Kunz of Alton, IL, Sara M. (Dennis) Taylor of Brighton, IL; Jeffrey R. (Mary) Wallace of Kalispell, MT, and Gregory M. Wallace of Missoula, MT; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; her daughter-in-law Paula (Cadwallader) Wallace; and son-in-law Edward Kunz.
Memorials in Johanna’s name may be made to the Intermountain Children’s Home, 500 S. Lamborn St., Helena, MT 59601.
