GAMMONS
Mr. David Lee Gammons, 76, of Ararat, Va. died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the VA Hospital in Salem, Va. Mr. Gammons was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Patrick County, Va. to the late Jess and Susie Goins Gammons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Pike Electric. Mr. Gammons is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Ruby and Paul Layman of Stuart, Va. and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Gammons of Claudville, Va., Blaine and wife, Louise Gammons of Sandy Level, Va., William and wife, Carrie Gammons of Clemmons, Herbert Gammons of Claudville, Va. and Winfield and wife, Elaine Gammons of Stuart, Va. Funeral services for Mr. Gammons will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hills Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Clements and the Rev. David Heath officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, Va. and at other times at the home of Frank Gammons.

GARDNER
BOYNTON BEACH, FLA. -- Mr. Rondall K. (Ron) Gardner, 36, of Boynton Beach, Fla. died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Del Ray Beach Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Gardner and their three beautiful children, Austin, Amanda and Avery, all of the home; his parents, Eugene and Nancy Gardner of Walnut Cove; a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Tanya of Germanton and a nephew, Braden Gardner of Germanton. Funeral and memorial services were held at Berean Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Fla. where he was a science teacher. He was ordained as a minister Sept. 13, 2000, and had started a church in Boynton Beach, Fla. The family requests your prayers. HOLCOMB
JONESVILLE -- Mrs. Edith Evans Holcomb, 86, of Vestal Road passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center after a very short illness. She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Yadkin County to the late William R. "Bill" and Laura Ann Brown Evans. Mrs. Holcomb was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Boonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Holcomb; two sisters, Loy Miller and Iris Baity; and four brothers, Everette Evans, Thad Evans, Pholton Evans and Paris Evans. Surviving are her son, Tommy Rash and wife Kathy of Boonville; Granddaughter Wendy Renee Rash of Chapel Hill and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shady Grove Baptist Church, by the Rev. Bill Byrd and the Rev. Charles Jones. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Highway 601 North of Yadkinville.

KARAGIORGIS
Mr. Demetrios E. Karagiorgis, 69, a resident of Potomac Falls, Va., died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at the V.A. Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Karagiorgis is survived by his wife, Mercina Karagiorgis; three sons, Evangelos Karagiorgis of Potomac Falls, Va., Vasilios Karagiorgis of Pasadena, Md. and Alexandros Karagiorgis of Cockeysville, Md.; a brother, Stavros Karagiorgis of Winston-Salem; a sister, Marguerita Rhodes of Greece and two grandchildren, Christina and Josh Karagiorgis. Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle S.E. in Leesburg, Va., Thursday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., with prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Theodores Greek Orthodox Church, 7101 Cyprian Lane, Greenbelt, Md., with Father Nicholas Voucanos officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National cemetery, Arlington, Va. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Parkinson Foundation.

KIRKMAN
Mr. Albert Reece Kirkman, 85, of Lewisville died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Claire Bridge of Winston-Salem. He was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Liberty to Grady R. and Ila Reece Kirkman. Mr. Kirkman was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church, where he had served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Enterprise Masonic Lodge No. 752 and was a 32nd degree mason. He had been a member of the Winston-Salem Jaycees and the Lewisville Civic Club, where he was instrumental in obtaining Lewisville's first fire truck. He has also served on the Lewisville School Board and was president of the P.T.A. Mr. Kirkman loved the out of doors and was an avid golfer. He was a charter member of Tanglewood Golf Course and after he was unable to play golf was a ranger at the golf course. For 12 years he was office manager for American Oil Co. He retired from L.A. Reynolds Paving Co. after 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Celeste Brewer Kirkman of the home; two sons, Reece Kirkman and wife Becky of Advance and Steve Kirkman and wife, Anne of Lewisville; two daughters, Betsy Cooksey and husband, Dick of Spartanburg, S.C., and Beverly Davis and husband, Dean of Lewisville; five grandchildren, Mark Kirkman and wife Renee of Advance, Kent Kirkman and wife Lisa of Clemmons, Eric Kirkman of Lewisville, Ashley Kirkman of Lewisville and Jason Davis of Wilmington; three great-grandchildren, Madison Kirkman, Avery Kirkman and Celeste Kirkman; a brother, Henry M. Kirkman and wife, Billie of Winston-Salem; a sister, Eleanor Livengood of Davidson County; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forsyth Memorial Park, by the Rev. Donald W. Routh. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. LENT
ROSWELL, Ga. -- Robert Glenn Lent, 54, originally from Lavonia, Mich. passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Hospice of Atlanta. Mr. Lent was born April 16, 1946 in Wayne County, Mich. to Glenn J. and Marion Morris Lent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1972 and did a tour in Vietnam. Mr. Lent was the regional sales director for Tekelec Corp. in Calabasas, Calif. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Victoria Pearson Lent of the home, she is employed with Nortel Networks in Alphareta, Ga.; his parents, Glenn J. and Marion Morris Lent of Brighton, Mich.; two sisters, Sandra Lent Morton of Cape Coral, Fla. and Marcia Lent Ruggiero of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother, David Scott Lent of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Everette L. Pearson of Morehead City; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Pearson Nance of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Martha Jean Pearson Martin of Ronda. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fall Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Hudson. He will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial cemetery with full militaty honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. LEWIS
Mrs. Mary Clay Lewis, 78, of 501 Walter Court died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Carteret County to Thomas W. Hancock Jr. and Allie Boomer Hancock. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong member of the Woman's Club of Winston-Salem, of which she was active in the Thursday Morning Music Club, the Art and American Homes Club and the Book Club. She attended R.J. Reynolds High School and graduated from Carteret County High School. She worked for Old Salem for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lewis Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Anita L. Cox of Winston-Salem; a brother, Boomer Hancock and wife Shirley of Naperville, Ill.; a sister, McCoy Roy and husband Robert of Lake Monticello, Va.; a brother-in-law, Ruggles Baker Sr. of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Maggi Henderson. A graveside service will follow at Greenview cemetery in Reidsville at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. LYONS
Mrs. Jean Davis Lyons, 66, of Clemmons died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 8, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Harry S. Davis Sr. and Edna Brandon Davis. Mrs. Lyons was a life member of Calvary Moravian Church where she had taught Sunday school and had been a member of the choir. She was the owner of Orthopedic Services. Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Bing Davis. She is survived by her husband, Robert Daniel Lyons of the home; two daughters, Kim Robertson of Clemmons and Amy Crutchfield and husband, Jay of Charlotte; two sons, Gary Lyons and wife, Reba of Clemmons and Greg Lyons of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Katie and Amanda Robertson and Patrik and Nicholas Lyons; a brother, Harry Davis Jr and wife, Faye of Clemmons and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Moravian Church by the Rev. Lane Sapp and the Rev. David Merritt. Burial will follow in the Moravian Graveyard. MARSH
PINNACLE -- Mrs. Vinia Reinhardt Marsh, 83, of 1874 Tillotson Road, Pinnacle passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at J.R. Jones Medical Center in King. Mrs. Marsh was born March 17, 1917 in Yadkin County to Blume and Rachel Groce Reinhardt. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendly Chapel Church. She is survived by three daughters, Sylvia Sawyers of Pinnacle, Phyllis Hooks of Yadkinville and Judy Williams of Pinnacle; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs Marsh was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon H. Marsh, a daughter, Carol Vestal, three sisters, Ila Reavis, Allie Morris and Alma McKnight and a brother, Claude Reinhardt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Friendly Chapel Church by Brother Don Collins and the Rev. Zeno Groce and Brother Jerry Pardue. Burial will follow at Friendly Chapel Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Friendly Chapel Church from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000. McBRIDE
Mr. Paul Kiger McBride, 70, of Sebring, Fla., and Jefferson died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in Sebring, Fla. He was born in Forsyth County Dec. 9, 1929, to William Walter and Nancy Jane Money McBride. He was of the Moravian faith. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. A member of West Bend Masonic Lodge 434, he was a master mason in 1967. Mr. McBride retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in 1984 with 37 1/2 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, W.D. "Mickey" McBride. On March 15, 1951, he was married to Peggy Jane Binkley McBride who survives of the home. He is also survived by a daughter, Paula Dickinson of Snellville, Ga.; a son, Keith H. McBride of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Drew, Hannah, Logan Dickinson; four sisters, Betty Groce of Huntsville, Nancy Warner of Winston-Salem, Karlene Cope of Mocksville, Francis Harris of Elkin, and a brother, Thomas Homer McBride of Pfafftown. A graveside service with masonic rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Chapel.

MYERS
Mrs. Posie Wilkes Myers, 86, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born Sept. 7, 1914, to the late Henry Lee and Ruth Lemmons Wilkes, Mrs. Myers was married March 27, 1932, to Clyde William Myers, who preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1992. Also preceding her in death was a son, Clyde Lee, on Nov. 30, 1943, a great-grandson, Stephon James Lassett, two sisters, Hazel West and Ann Carlson and three brothers, Henry Wilkes Jr., Pete Wilkes and Tom Wilkes. Surviving are three daughters, Louise Allen, Brenda Kelly and Jean Myers; a son, Steve Myers and daughter-in-law, Linda Myers; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Wilkes. Mrs. Myers and her husband founded C.W. Myers Trading Post Inc. which is still family operated. She was a past president of the Forsyth Saddle Club and a very active member of College Park Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She dearly loved showing American saddlebred horses and in September 1992 she was inducted into the Carolina's Hall of Fame, UPHA Chapter 12. The family would like to express special thanks to Posie's loving caretakers: Virginia Shore, Betty Swaim, Juanita Bennett, Anne McGee and Carol Griffin. ROGERS
Mr. Hugh Barnes Rogers, 82, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000. He was born to the late Francis Felix Rogers and Margaret Louise Barnes Rogers on Oct. 15, 1918, in Somerville, Mass. He moved to Winston-Salem in 1951 to open a southern regional office for Draper Top Co., a woolen company. Later he became a stockbroker, vice president and branch manager for Harris, Upham and Co. He retired from its successor, Smith Barney, in 1988. He was an active member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church from the building of its grammar school until his death. He taught Sunday school and served as a lector and coordinator of Eucharistic ministers. He was treasurer of the Shepherd Center and served as a volunteer in its programs, including tutoring at Bolton School. He also was chairman of several committees for the United Fund, the Winston-Salem Arts Council and the Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Norma Dyson Rogers; six children, Hugh B. Rogers Jr. of Kerens, W.Va., Donna Louise Rogers of Chapel Hill, Sara Williams Rogers of Afton, Va., Alan Dyson Rogers of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Victoria Rogers of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bruce Armitage Rogers of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Ian Blackwell Rogers of Greenbelt, Md., Thomas Dyson Rogers of Durham, Gabriel Rogers of Kerens, W.Va., Derek Alan Rogers-Gilliam of Charlottesville, Va., Hannah Wolfe Rogers-Gilliam of Afton, Va., Patrick Dyson Rogers and Virginia Louise Rogers of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Michael Avery Rogers Bernard and Madeline Clare Rogers Bernard of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a great-grandson, James Raven Rogers-Sites of Greenbelt, Md. Also surviving him are four sisters, Ruth Rogers Lally of Harwichport, Mass., Sarah Rogers Dacey of Bellevue, Neb., Claire Rogers Simpson of Plymouth, Mass. and Patricia Rogers Simpson of West Newton, Mass.; a brother, General F. Michael Rogers of Montecito, Calif.; a son-in-law, Lucian Joseph Bernard of Cincinnati, Ohio and three daughters-in-law, Ruth Blackwell Rogers of Kerens, W.Va., Nicole Flor Bernard of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Desiree White of St. Louis, Mo. and many nieces and nephews. A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. A reception will follow with the family after the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Frank Vogler & Son's Reynolda Road Funeral Home.

FOY
John Clay Foy Jr. died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Guilford County to the late Mary Carolyn Alfred Peay and John Clay Foy. He graduated from The Phelps School, Malvern, Pa., where he was president of the student body and received the headmaster's citation for academic excellence, leadership and service to the school. Mr. Foy attended Oak Ridge military Institute, High Point College and N.C. State University. He was a paper-box manufacturer with High Point Box Co. and Carraway Packaging. He was independently employed in the metal-fabrication business. Mr. Foy was an Episcopalian and Rotarian. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the CCA Fishing Club and the Carolina Fishing Club, New Bern. He was an avid aviator. Mr. Foy is survived by his wife, Hilda Knight Foy of Arapahoe; a son, John Clay Foy III of Winston-Salem; a grandson, John Michael Foy of Winston-Salem; a sister, Carolyn Foy Ragsdale of Smithfield; a brother, Henry G. Foy of Long Beach; four nieces, Mary Foy Ragsdale of Wilson, Eliza R. Ragsdale of Smithfield, Sutton F. Boney of Wilmington and Mary Carolyn Foy of Raleigh; two nephews, James E. Ragsdale Jr. of Portsmouth, Va., and H. Grattan Foy Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; an aunt, Harriet Alfred Paul; a stepson, Jerry Montgomery of Winston-Salem; and a stepgrandson, William Edward "Billy" IV of Arapahoe. The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Oriental. GRAY
CHARLOTTE -- Sybil Crotts Gray, 66, died Oct. 28, 2000, at her residence. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte. The family will receive friends after the service in the Blue Room. Sybil was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Henry and Gladys Leonard Crotts. She attended Midway School in Lexington and graduated from UNC Greensboro in 1957 with a bachelor's degree and received a master's degree in history in 1961. After graduating, she taught at East Mecklenburg High School from 1961 until 1967. Mrs. Gray also worked in the family business, Myers Park Pharmacy. An active member of Christ Episcopal Church, she served as church hostess and enjoyed the church choir. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Democratic Women's Club, where she had served as a board member, and enjoyed Democratic politics. Unselfish with her time, she worked in Day Spring and also volunteered her time at Saint Peter ' s Soup Kitchen. Entertaining friends and family was one of her greatest joys. A very opened-minded person, she delighted in the differences of people she met. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Gray is survived by her daughter, Lindsay Merritt and husband Mark of Charlotte; son John Gray of Portland, Ore.; brother Benny Crotts of Midway; sister Jean Harriett Hiatt of Thomasville; two grandsons, Alex and Jay; granddaughter Elizabeth Gray; and six nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 6124, Charlotte, NC 28207, or the UNCG Alumni Association. HAMBRIGHT
Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Slack Hambright, 44, died Saturday evening at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center after three weeks of critical illness. She was born in San Francisco, Calif., on June 29, 1956, to Bill and Priscilla Mealy Slack. Mrs. Hambright graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. For several years she worked at Forsyth Medical Center and in recent years had been employed by Pro Service Inc. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Roger Wayne Hambright of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Jennifer Dawn Hambright and Ashley Elizabeth Hambright, both of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Victor Slack and his wife Diana of Lewisville and Timothy Slack and his wife Lynn of Rural Hall; a sister, Karen S. Doub and her husband Larry of Winston-Salem; four nieces, Whitney Doub, Tori Slack, Janet Slack and Jessica Slack and a nephew, Billy Slack. The funeral service will be held at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Steve Fowler and Pastor James Newsome officiating. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

PFAFFTOWN -- Mrs. Judith J. Kettenstock, 62, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000. She was born June 29, 1938, to the late Rufus Homer Porter and Ruth Flora MacDonald Porter in Chelsea, Mass. She married Edward J. Kettenstock on Aug. 10, 1963, in Walled Lake, Mich. She was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David R. Porter; and her mother-in-law, Irene Kettenstock. She is survived by her husband, Ed Kettenstock of Pfafftown; two daughters, Kathy Owens and her husband Tom of Marysville, Ohio and Judy Kettenstock and her friend, Alex Peat of Saline, Mich.; a son, Rick Kettenstock and his wife, Marilyn of Milan, Mich.; a sister, Linda Bowman and her husband, Joe of Park City, Utah; two brothers, Douglas Porter and his wife, Pat of Anchorage, Alaska and Dennis R. Brantly and his wife, Ruth of North Charleston, S.C.; her father-in-law, Gabriel Kettenstock of Yale, Mich.; and foster parents R. Max and Margaret Conrad of Pfafftown. Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at the Lewisville United Methodist Church with the Rev. LEE
HAMPTON, Va. -- Dennis G. Lee, 73, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000. A native of Biddeford, Maine, he had been a Hampton resident since 1954. In 1969, Mr. Lee retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service including World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He went on to work for the Department of Labor for the next 12 years and then worked for the Department of Economic Development in Newport News, Va. He had also worked from the 1950s until the 1980s part time as a sports writer for the Daily Press. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Council #511 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Lee is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Lee Fiedler and husband Jack of Raleigh; three sons, Dennis R. Lee and wife Martina of Hampton, Kevin G. Lee and wife Meldine of Winston-Salem and Brian M. Lee of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a sister, Esther Christian of Haverhill, Mass.; a brother, Thomas Lee of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; 10 grandchildren; his longtime companion and friend, Helen Ahearn of Yorktown; a brother-in-law; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hampton by the Rev. Donald Winter. Interment will be Tuesday in the Hampton National cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.

LENT
ROSWELL, Ga. -- Robert Glenn Lent, 54, originally from Lavonia, Mich. passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at his home. Mr. Lent was born April 16, 1946, to Glenn J. and Marion Morris Lent of Brighton, Mich. He was in the U.S. Air Force during the tour in Vietnam. Mr. Lent was the regional sales director for Tekelec in Calabasas, Calif. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Victoria Pearson Lent of the home, she is employed with Nortel Networks in Alphareta, Ga.; his parents; two sisters, Sandra Lent Morton of Cape Coral, Fla. and Marcia Lent Ruggiero of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother, David Scott Lent of Plymouth, Mich.; three sisters-in-law, Everette L. Pearson of Morehead City, Patricia Pearson Nance of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Martha Jean Pearson Martin of Ronda. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Little Mountain Road, Jonesville. His service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Fall Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Hudson. Mr. Lent will lie in state from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.

LEWIS
Mrs. Mary Clay Lewis, 78, of 501 Walter Court died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Carteret County to Thomas W. Hancock Jr. and Allie Boomer Hancock. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong member of the Woman's Club of Winston-Salem, of which she was active in the Thursday Morning Music Club, the Art and American Homes Club and the Book Club. She attended R.J. Reynolds High School and graduated from Carteret County High School. She worked for Old Salem for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lewis Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Anita L. Cox of Winston-Salem; a brother, Boomer Hancock and wife Shirley of Naperville, Ill.; a sister, McCoy Roy and husband Robert of Lake Monticello, Va.; a brother-in-law, Ruggles Baker Sr. of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Maggi Henderson. A graveside service will follow at Greenview cemetery in Reidsville at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Woman's Club of Winston-Salem, c/o Lydia V. Clark, 434 Lynn Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
