The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in L.E. Floyd Funeral Home of Red Springs by Bishop Wilson Terry. Burial will be in Community Rest cemetery.
Mr. Gay is survived by his father, Nathan Gordon of Red Springs; seven brothers, William T. Gay, Willie Gay Jr. and James H. Gay, all of Red Springs, Kenneth Gay and Rodney Gay, both of Durham, Roosevelt Gay of Spring Lake and Charles Gay of Raleigh; four sisters, Rebecca Jackson and Betty Mitchell, both of Laurinburg, and Frances Brown and Tammy Roberts, both of Durham; two stepbrothers; and three stepsisters.
The public will be received today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Kenneth “Jimmy” Berry, 63, of 725 Tupelo Circle, Fayetteville, died Friday.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Piscataway, N.J. Arrangements are being handled by Carolina Cremation Society.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Patricia H. Berry; three sons, Raymond Berry of Piscataway, James M. Berry of Woodland, Pa., and Matthew J. Berry of Miami; a daughter, Laureen E. Berry of Somerset, N.J.; his stepfather, George DeCosta of Piscataway; and two grandchildren.

MATTHEWS -- Mrs. Patricia Kelly Eades, 48, of Matthews, formerly of Sanford, died Wednesday in Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in Unity Christian Fellowship in Monroe by the Rev. Carol Tate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Yates Thagard Baptist Church cemetery in Whispering Pines. Arrangements are being handled by Williams-Dearborn Funeral Service.
Mrs. Eades is survived by her husband, Donald R. Eades; two daughters, Kimberly Patton of Marshville and Kellie E. Braumann of Matthews; a brother, Al Kelly of Charlotte; a sister, Bonnie VanBover of Sayre, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

SANFORD -- James E. Owens, 70, of 1002 Northview Drive died Wednesday in Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Hazel W. Owens; a son, William Owens of Sanford; a daughter, Terri Sharpe of Sanford; a sister, Janice Johnson of Sanford; a brother, Roger D. Owens of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
