RAEFORD -- John D. Black, 75, of Raeford died Friday in Autumn Care of Raeford.

Mr. Black was a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church by the Revs. Donald Shields and Berry Barbour. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Mary S. Black of Raeford; three daughters, Sheila Black, Beth Black and Amy Miller, all of Raeford; two sons, Randy Black of Erwin, Tenn., and Jeffrey S. Black of Raeford; three sisters, Bonnie Mize and Julia Rushin, both of Red Springs, and Neta Suggs of Shannon; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bobbie J. Oliver

DUNN -- Mrs. Bobbie Jean Oliver, 69, of 3800 Old Fairground Road died Friday in her home.

Mrs. Oliver was a homemaker.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. May 31 in Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive. Arrangements are being handled by Rose & Graham Funeral Home of Benson.

Mrs. Oliver is survived by two daughters, Jane Leschinsky of Lancaster, Calif., and Tammie Beck of Fayetteville; six sons, Randy McCain of Statesville, Eddie McCain of Lancaster, Michael McCain of Ottawa, Kan., Jerry McCain of Cascade, Mont., John McCain of Long Beach, Calif., and Charles McCain of Benson; a sister, Mrs. Jerry Roberts of Dunn; two brothers, Dalton Green of Benson, and Donald Green of Mauldin, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Harnett County, 111-A N. Ellis Road, Dunn, N.C.; or to St. Joseph of the Pines, 504 W. Broad St., Dunn, N.C. 28334.

Johnny E. Morgan

BENSON -- Johnny Edwin Morgan, 57, of 2722 Federal Road died Friday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mr. Morgan was president of Lee and Morgan Roofing Company. He was a member of Elevation United Methodist Church. Mr. Morgan worked with the Elevation Fire Department, the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce and the Benson Lions Club. He was a member of the North Carolina National Guard.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday in Elevation United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Benson. Entombment will be in Roselawn cemetery.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Patsy N. Morgan; two daughters, Candace L. Morgan and Laine D. Morgan, both of the home; his mother, Christine C. Morgan of Benson; two brothers, Jerry D. Morgan of Benson and Jefferson D. Morgan of Raleigh; and seven sisters, Anne M. Moore of Smithfield, Judy M. Caldwell of Benson, Patsy M. Krause of Eugene, Ore., Jackie M. Oberbauer of Hillsborough, Kathy M. Huddleston of Manteo, and Donna M. Morgan and Carol M. Barefoot, both of Benson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rose & Graham Funeral Home.

LAUREL HILL -- James Franklin Smith, 56, of 6400 Old Wire Road died Friday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Smith was an Army veteran of the Vietname War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. J.B. Loving. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Jennie B. Smith of the home; three daughters, Darlene Warriax of Pembroke, Donna Bowen of Laurinburg and Michelle Oxendine of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two sons, Jamie Smith of Laurinburg and Aaron Smith of Laurel Hill; his mother, Marie G. Smith of Laurel Hill; two sisters, Carolyn Glenn of Hamlet and Teresa Eddins of Laurel Hill; a brother, Ricky Smith of Hamlet; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McDougald Funeral Home in Laurel Hill.

GOLDSBORO -- James Henry Woodard, 80, of Rosewood Community died Saturday in Britthaven Nursing Home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Seymour Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Norman Ard and Curtiss Tatum. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Among Mr. Woodard’s survivors is a daughter, Faye Tatum of Turkey.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Branch Baptist Church by the Revs. John Cave and Charles Howell. Burial will be in New Hollywood cemetery.

Mrs. Lee is survived by a son, K.B. Lee of the home; three sisters, Zula M. Stone, Wilma G. Carter and Eloise Lee, all of Lumberton; and a grandchild.

LUMBERTON -- Robert Clois Clark, 70, of 2909 Olsen Drive died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in West End Baptist Church by the Revs. Ricky Locklear and Weldon Lowery. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Evelyn Clark of the home; five sons, Doron Clark, Dexter Clark, Ralph Clark, Kavish Clark and Wesley Clark, all of Lumberton; a daughter, Rogena Deese of Rowland; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The public will be received an hour prior to the service at the church.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Mrs. Claudia D. Strider

BISCOE -- Mrs. Claudia Mae Donathan Strider, 67, of Neighbors Point died Saturday in First Health Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Strider had retired from Clayson Knitting in Star and had attended Candor Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Briggs Candor Funeral Home chapel in Candor by the Rev. Mike Holyfield. Burial will be in Candor cemetery.

Mrs. Strider is survived by a son, Gary Cooke of Lancaster, S.C.; her mother, Pearl K. Donathan of Troy; three brothers, R.J. Donathan of Archdale, Bill Donathan of Wadesboro and Turner Donathan of Camden, S.C.; six sisters, Diane Wallace, Ernestine Stevenson and Frances Reynolds, all of Biscoe, Nancy Bristow of Raleigh, Mary Pelczynski and Filiet Bahoric, both of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Mrs. Wallace, 126 Cochran Road, Star.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Theram Clark, 46, of Memphis, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Tuesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel in Fayetteville by Brother Charles Pleasants. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Connie D. Clark of Memphis; two daughters, Norzetta Clark and Tia Clark, both of Memphis; two sons, Theram Clark II and Nijil Clark, both of Memphis; his parents, Laura and Sidney Clark of Fayetteville; four brothers, Ernice Clark, Charles Clark, Emmanuel Clark and Daniel Clark, all of Fayetteville; five sisters, Estelle Phillips of Harvey, Ill., and Delores Maultsby, Vivian Smith, Sally Channey and Valerie Young, all of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

The public will be received Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elderess Lillie Mae McLean, 74, of 2915-D Dwelle Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Elderess McLean is survived by two daughters, Lillie A. McLean and Mary E. McLean, both of Fayetteville; a son, John W. McLean of Fayetteville; her mother, Cora B. Watson of Maxton; two sisters, Cora L. Avery of Gadsden, Ala., and Martha Clements of Charlotte; a brother, Walter J. Watson of Westburg, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Myers was a tax analyst for the Cumberland County tax office.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Carl Brinkley Jr. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans cemetery in Spring Lake.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband, Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Judge Myers of the home; a daughter, Giesela A. Cook of Browns Summit; a son, Derek Myers of Washington, Va.; her mother, Luneed A. Moore of Hartsville, S.C.; two sisters, Veronica Howard and Gloria F. Threet, both of Fayetteville; two brothers, Issac Henry of Somerdale, N.J., and Bishop Levi Henry of Hartsville; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Dowless is survived by two sons, Jack Dowless Jr. of Calhoun, Ga., and Jimmie Dowless of Charlotte; a sister, Kay McGugan of Aberdeen; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
