ST. PAULS -- Mrs. Mary Cribb Jackson, 75, of 236 N. Second St. died Saturday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Ray Fairloth. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Jackson of St. Pauls; a son, Willie F. Jackson of St. Pauls; two daughters, Rose M. Beddow of Lumberton and Brenda N. Dove of St. Pauls; a brother, William Cribb of Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory in Lumberton.
Richard L. Edkins (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
BRADENTON, Fla. -- Richard L. Edkins, 59, of Bradenton died Sunday in Doctors Hospital of Sarasota.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 tonight in Griffith-Cline Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Passmore. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota.
Among Mr. Edkins’ survivors is a son, Brian Edkins of Lumberton, N.C.
Hubert Hunsucker (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
LAURINBURG -- Hubert Hunsucker, 79, of 11200 Gibson Road died Saturday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Troy. Arrangements are being handled by Butler Funeral Service.
Mr. Hunsucker is survived by a son, Hubert Hunsucker Jr. of Troy; three daughters, Mary McIntyre and Nancy Smith, both of Rockingham, and Sara Hunsucker of Laurinburg; a brother, Robert Hunsucker of Troy; a sister, Betty J. Hunsucker of Virginia; 18 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the home.
Mrs. Viola Sanderson (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Viola “Shug” Sanderson, 80, of 218 Little Rod Road died Sunday in Kingsdale Manor.
Mrs. Sanderson was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Fairmont by the Revs. Chester Chavis, Charles Maynor and Crafton Chavis. Burial will be in Oxendine Cemetery.
Mrs. Sanderson is survived by three daughters, Frances Lewis and Ila Jacobs, both of Lumberton, and Reber Sanderson of Rowland; five brothers, Howard Sanderson of Los Angeles, Leroy Sanderson of Wadesboro and Rudolph Sanderson, Larry Sanderson and Levern Sanderson, all of Pembroke; six sisters, Lula M. Sampson of Lumberton, Doris Sampson and Peggy Locklear, both of Pembroke, Donnie M. Warren of Hope Mills, Erma N. Thomas of Laurinburg and Evelyn Redding of Mobile, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Etta J. Hunt (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
PEMBROKE -- Mrs. Etta Jane Hunt, 85, of 875 Hezekiah Road died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Prospect United Methodist Church by Bill J. Locklear and Robert L. Mangum. Burial will be in the Hunt family cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by five sons, Edsol Hunt of Maxton and Gerald D. Hunt, Bobby E. Hunt, Gurney Hunt and Joseph Hunt, all of Pembroke; a daughter, Carrie M. Jones of Pembroke; three sisters, Easter Jacobs of Bolton, Cora L. Hall of Tampa, Fla., and Annie R. Boatright of Osprey, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mattie Sanders (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Mattie Sanders, 90, of Century Care of Laurinburg, formerly of Rowland, died Sunday.
Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker. She was a member of Bensons Chapel Baptist Church in Rowland.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Bensons Chapel Baptist Church by the Revs. Jake Mitchell and Dufrene Cummings. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by a sister, Bernice Hunt of Rowland; a brother, William H. Owens of Laurinburg; and a stepdaughter, Dorothy Sanders of Florida.

James O. McCloskey (Dated Monday, Oct. 26, 1998)
WHISPERING PINES -- James O. McCloskey, 77, of Whispering Pines died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mr. McCloskey was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an executive with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 42 years before retiring.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
Mr. McCloskey is survived by his wife, Doris E. McCloskey of Whispering Pines; two daughters, Barbara Dremann of Lenexa, Kan., and Sharon Silvestri of Toms River, N.J.; a sister, Ruth Scaggs of Chillicothe, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ROBBINS -- Lonnie Lawson Brower, 72, of 1333 Leaman Road died Saturday in his home.

Mr. Brower is survived by his wife, Eva J. Brower of Robbins; seven sons, Harry J. Brower of Salisbury, Lawson Brower Jr. and Walter N. Brower, both of Robbins, Raymond L. Brower of Asheboro, Charles R. Brower of Virginia Beach, Va., and Harry Cagle and Thomas Cagle, both of High Point; five daughters, Avis L. Curtis and Joan Cagle, both of Greensboro, Shelia G. Brower of Asheboro, Yvonne Martin of Goldston and Alice Roger of High Point; a brother, Everett Brower of Robbins; and five sisters, Rhoda Person, Hattie Person, Ruth Shamburger, Lillian Brower and Josie Thomas, all of Robbins.

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Peggy Ann Locklear, 40, of 206 Clover Lane died Friday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in South Hoke Baptist Church by the Revs. Willie Jacobs and Tony Hunt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by four daughters, Tamsha Locklear, Kashina Locklear and Atika Locklear, all of the home, and Charity Oxendine of Red Springs; a son, Kenwood Locklear of the home; her mother, Reedy Oxendine of Red Springs; six sisters, Lucille Rogers and Ailean Cummings, both of Pembroke, Mattie Bullard of Red Springs, Christine Murchison and Elizabeth Goins, both of Raeford, and Janice Locklear of Fayetteville; six brothers, Johnny Oxendine of Lumberton, Charlie Oxendine, Stenson Oxendine and Ressa Oxendine, all of Raeford, and David H. Locklear and Harold Locklear, both of Red Springs; and three grandchildren.

HOPE MILLS -- Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth Quick, 51, of 5415 Gilcrest Sands died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Reeves Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Dean Kennedy. Burial will be in Hope Mills Cemetery.
Mrs. Quick is survived by her husband, Roy Quick Sr.; a son, Roy Quick Jr. of Fayetteville; two daughters, Tammy Perez of Fayetteville and Sammy Fowler of Wahiawa, Hawaii; a brother, Harold Knight of Fayetteville; a stepbrother, Allen Horne of Fayetteville; three sisters, Joan Younts, Carolyn Stedman and Geraldine Mullins, all of Fayetteville; and seven grandchildren.

Berger O. Jacobsen (Dated Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998)
SANFORD -- Berger O. Jacobsen, 75, of 5101 Simpson Drive died Tuesday in his home.
Mr. Jacobsen was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a claims manager for Atlantic Insurance Co. before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Charles R. Huggins. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.
Mr. Jacobsen is survived by his wife, Barbara Jacobsen of Sanford; a son, Kenneth A. Jacobsen of Marion, Mass.; three daughters, Barbara Martin of Macungie, Pa., Constance Easdon of Saunderston, R.I., and Janet Mummert of Lewistown, Pa.; two brothers; two sisters; and eight grandchildren.
