Willie ‘Bill’ Cannady

ROSEBORO -- Willie ‘‘Bill’’ Cannady, 85, of 201 Dewberry Lane died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Cannady was a member of Bonnettsville Church of God of Prophecy. He was a retired farmer.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bonnettsville Church of God of Prophecy by the Revs. James Barker and James Crooms. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Cannady is survived by three sons, Willie C. Cannady of Lexington, Joseph L. Cannady of Clinton and Richard E. Cannady of Roseboro; a daughter, Mable A. Carter of Roseboro; a sister, R.C. ‘‘Roxie’’ Piper of Oceanside, Calif.; a half brother, Jacob Cannady of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Wincell Lymas

Wincell Lymas, 69, of 303 Bryan St., Fayetteville, died Monday in Highland House of Fayetteville.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Dorothy L. Kirkpatrick
(Dated Tuesday, November 2, 1999)

HIGH POINT -- Mrs. Dorothy Sue Lemmon Kirkpatrick, 76, of High Point, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday in High Point Regional Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Presbyterian Home by the Revs. Lisa M. Mullin and George Carpenter; and at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Avondale Presbyterian Church in Charlotte by the Revs. John B. Earl, Fred A. McAlister Jr. and Robert J. James. Burial will be in Forest Lawn East in Matthews. Arrangements are being handled by Cremation Services of Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by her husband, the Rev. Charles E. Kirkpatrick; five children, Sue Kirkpatrick-Humphries of New York, Amy Kirkpatrick-Herman of Cary, Charles E. Kirkpatrick Jr. of Kinston, Robert H. Kirkpatrick of Denver and William L. Kirkpatrick of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

Robert L. ‘Bob’ Williams
(Dated Tuesday, November 2, 1999)

CLAYTON -- Robert L. ‘‘Bob’’ Williams of Clayton died Sunday in Wake Medical Center.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today in Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery in Raleigh by the Rev. Hal Bilbo. Arrangements are being handled by McLaurin Funeral Home.

Among Mr. Williams’ survivors is a sister, Fay W. Dease of Fayetteville.

Luther D. Locklear
(Dated Tuesday, November 2, 1999)

GREENSBORO -- The Rev. Luther Douglas Locklear, 69, of 3607 S. Elm Eugene Lot No. 37, formerly of Rowland, died Sunday in Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Rowland by the Revs. Johnie Chavis, Prather Sampson and Thesley Campbell. Burial will be in New Bethel Church cemetery in Rowland.

The Rev. Locklear is survived by his wife, Audrey O. Locklear of the home; two sons, Terry Hunt of Greensboro and Kenneth Locklear of Kanapolis; two daughters, Barbara Barnes and Debbie Hunt, both of Rowland; three brothers, James L. Locklear of Rowland and Carson Locklear and Linberg Locklear, both of Pembroke; and two sisters, Lannie Hunt of Elrod and Mattie Danford of Thomasville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Mrs. Bobbie Ann Young, 74, of Fayetteville died Sunday in Sunbright Nursing Home.

A Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Archangel Michael Maronite Catholic Church by Father Jack Morrison. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Young is survived by a brother, John M. Handley of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Harry L. Pittman Jr.
(Dated Tuesday, November 2, 1999)

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Harry L. ‘‘Sonny’’ Pittman Jr., 50, of 5564 Butler Nursery Road, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Pittman was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Deena G. Pittman; four daughters, Hope R. Finney of Zanesville, Ohio, Charity M. Rowe of Wooster, Ohio, Faith S. Pittman of the home and Shannon N. Pittman of Skyesville, Md.; his parents, Harry L. and Vera R. Pittman of Fayetteville; three sisters, Linda Bove, Janie Faunda of Mount Pleasant, Ohio, and Patty S. Faunda of Camp Lejeune; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Mr. Godwin is survived by a son, Alexander Godwin Jr. of Fayetteville.

WHITEVILLE -- Miss Alexis Faulk, infant daughter, of Toby and Tonnie S. Faulk, of Whiteville died Sunday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Smyrna Cemetery by the Rev. Elmore Strickland. Arrangements are being handled by McKenzie Mortuary.

In addition to her parents, Alexis is survived by her maternal grandmother, Patricia Strickland of Fair Bluff; and her paternal grandmother, Flora Faulk of Whiteville.

Jimmy C. Adcock

HAMER, S.C. -- Jimmy Cobb Adcock, 58, of Hamer, formerly of Lumberton, N.C., died Monday in his home.

Mr. Adcock was a member of Ashpole Presbyterian Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ashpole Presbyterian Church in Rowland, N.C. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Kannaday’s Funeral Home of Dillon.

Mr. Adcock is survived by his wife, Janet T. Adcock of Hamer; two daughters, Jan Berry and Jacqueline ‘‘Jackie’’ Adcock, both of Hamer; his mother, Rosa C. Adcock; a sister, Elizabeth A. Chambers of Charlotte, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Jerry Gore

LAURINBURG -- Jerry Gore, 61, of 10441 Dorset Drive died Saturday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Gore retired from the Army after 20 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Butler Funeral Service chapel by Dorothy Barnes. Burial with military honors will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Gore is survived by his wife, Patricia Gore of Laurinburg; two sons, William A. Gore and Christopher Gore, both of Laurinburg; a daughter, Cynthia M. Rogers of Laurinburg; three sisters, Linda Hudson of West Valley City, Utah, Ella M. Gray of Southport and Shirley Kingsberry of Selma; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
