ANN McRAE KENNADY CAPEHEART
Ann McRae Kennady Capehart, 83, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Hermitage at Cedarfield of Richmond, Va, where she had been a resident since 1996.
She was the widow of Albert Cowardin Capehart, Sr., who passed June 1991.
They were pre-deceased by a daughter, Donna McRae Capehart, in 1989.
A Richmond native, Mrs. Capehart was the daughter of Helen Scott McRae Kennady and Stanford Dyson Kennady.
She is survived by two sons, a a daughter, and two grandsons: Dr. Albert Cowardin Capehart, Jr. (Carolyn) of Pittsboro, N.C., Dr. John Colin Capehart (Jane) of Winchester, Va. and Ann Scott "Scottie" Capehart Estis of Newport News, Va., Albert Cameron "AC" Capehart (Carolyn Marie) of Charlottesville, Va., and Scott McRae Capehart of Burbank, Ca.
Interment, 12-31-2003 was in the Capehart Section of Hollywood Cemetery.

LUCILLE BARLOW
Lucille Barlow of Silk Hope died suddenly on December 31, 2003 at her daughter's house in Levittown, Pa.
She was the wife of the late Ralph L. Barlow, mother of son, Jerry (wife Carol) , and daughter, Deborah Staller (husband Steve).
Survivors also include four sisters and three grandchildren.
She had celebrated life for 86 years. She attended the Spring Friends Meeting in Snow Camp with her family.
Services were held Saturday, January 3, 2004 in Penndel, Pa.
PAULINE BLACKBURN CORNETT
Pauline Blackburn Cornett, 80, 241 Ronald Scott Road, Bear Creek, died Monday, January 5, 2004 at Pinelake Health Care Center in Carthage. .
Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memory Gardens, Jacksonville, Fl.
Mrs. Cornett was a native of Avon Park, Fl, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Cornett.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Beal and her husband, Ronnie of Bear Creek; a son, Tim Cornett of Fernandina Beach, Fl.; and three grandchildren.
PAULINE L. WILLIAMS NETTLES
Pauline L. Williams Nettles, 82, of 1007 Brucemont Drive, Garner died Friday (01-02-2004) at Convalescent Care of Sanford.
Funeral services were held Monday (01-05-2004) at Corinth AME Zion church with Rev. Corey Little officiating.
She was a native of Chatham County, a retired homemaker and a member of Corinth AME Zion church.
Survivors include daughter, Eula W. Rush of Garner; sisters, Corene Blair of Greensboro, Gerlene Taylor of Pittsboro; brother, G. E. Williams, Sr. of Pittsboro; five grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
EULA MAE McCLAIN
Eula Mae McClain, 78, of 7299 Margaret Chapel Road died Sunday (01-04-2004) at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Olivers Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Gaylyn Wilson officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County and a member of Olivers Chapel AME Zion Church.
She was president of the Deaconess board and a class leader.
Survivors include sons, Bobby Lee McClain of Jacksonville, Rev. Steven Ray McClain of Ramseur; step-son, L.J. Garner of Staley; sisters, Delsie Hilton and Annie Ruth Matthews, both of Winston-Salem, Shelia Guin of Asheboro, Dr. Ocie M. Brown of Staley, Linda Graves of Reidsville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
CLAUDE MORRIS MATTHEWS
Claude Morris Matthews, 59, of 77 Headen Road, Siler City died Friday, (01-02-2004) at his home.
Funeral services were held at a Jordan Grove AME Zion Church Tuesday, (01-06-2004).
He was a native of Chatham County, retired from NC Department of Transportation, and a member of Light of the World Lodge #711 in Siler City.
Survivors include wife, Jennifer Matthews; stepson, George Troxler of Greensboro; mother, Vernell B. Matthews of Siler City; brothers, Curtis Matthews and Grover Matthews of Siler City, Elbert Matthews of Greensboro; sister, Lola Matthews of Siler City; and eleven half-brothers and sisters.
JAMES "JIM" W. HARRIS
James "Jim" Walter Harris, 77, of Pittsboro, died Tuesday (7-22-2003).
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday (7-25-2003) at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ray Gooch officiating.
A native of Chatham County, Jim worked at Chatham Mills. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Organ or Cemetery fund.
CALLIE MARSH DEGRAFFENREIDT
Callie Mae Marsh Degraffenreidt, 76, of Rt. 4, Sanford, died Monday (7-28-2003) at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (7-31-2003) at Evans Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Ridie Headen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends and visitors immediately following the service. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Griffin funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
A native of Chatham County, Mrs. Degraffenreidt was retired from Townsend Poultry processing. She was a member of Evans Chapel AME Zion Church.
She is survived by her sons, Joe R. Degraffenreidt of Mebane, Wallace T. Degraffenreidt of Siler City and Michael Lee Degraffenreidt of Oxen Hill, MD; daughter, Loretta French of Pittsboro; brothers, Cleatis Marsh, Macon Marsh, Oliver Marsh, Clyde Marsh, Charles Marsh, and Shirley Louis Marsh; sisters, Mexie Burnette and LaRuth White; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
BETTY PHILLIPS RIVES
Betty Sue Phillips Rives, 65, of 8240 Old Highway 421 South, Bear Creek, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Dosher Memorial Hospital, Southport.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Goldston Baptist Church with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Woodrow Whitt officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
A native of Chatham County, Mrs. Rives was a retired teacher assistant at J.S. Waters School. She was a member of Goldston Baptist Church, as well as Treasurer and member of the Adult #3 Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Rives; daughters, Michelle R. Sanders and Sherrie Rives, both of Bear Creek; sister, Joanne Phillips of Siler City; granddaughter, Hannah Sanders of Bear Creek, nephews, Joel Brower and Joe E. Hairr, both of Siler City, and great-nephew, Joshua Brower of Siler City.
