John Joseph Moskow, 61, of 1139 Bonlee-Bennett Road, Siler City, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at St. Julia Catholic Parrish, 210 Harold Hart Road, Siler City with Father Pedro De Oliveira officiating.
Mr. Moskow was a native of Camden County, N.J., an Air Force veteran, and a member of St. Julia's Catholic Church, and was a collector of classic cars.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wood Moskow of the home; daughter, Pamela M. Everwine of Bear Creek; sons, John Joseph Moskow, Jr. of Waltham, MA., Brian Jeffrey Moskow of Willow Springs; sister, Helen M. Morris of Gloucester, N.J.; brother, Pete Moskow of Philadelphia, PA.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.

HILDA PUGH ALSTON
Hilda Pugh Alston, 79, of Pittsboro died Thursday, (09-28-2006) at her home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, (10-03-2006) at Union Grove AME Zion Church in Bear Creek with Rev. Jace Cox officiating. Burial followed at Mitchell Chapel Church cemetery.
Mrs. Alston was a member of Union Grove Church.
Survivors include daughters, Gloria J. Alston of Sanford, Brenda K. Walker of Pittsboro; sons, Daniel Alston, Jr., Charles Pugh, both of Siler City, Ricky B. Alston of Germany; George Alston of Pittsboro; four brothers and three sisters.
JAMES CALVIN DAVIDSON
James Calvin Davidson, 7, of Sanford, died Thursday, (09-28-2006) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Memorial services were held Saturday (10-07-2006) at Grace Chapel Church with Rev. Tim Murr officiating.
Master Davidson was a native of Lee County.
Survivors include parents: Daniel N. Davidson and Christine Gibson Davidson of the home; brother, Ryan Davidson; sister, Elizabeth Davidson, both of Sanford; paternal grandfather, Joseph Davidson of Oxnard, California; maternal grandparents, Richard Calvin Gibson of San Antonio, Texas, and Ruby Yarborough of Eellevue, Nebraska.
MACON MARSH, JR.
Mr. Macon Marsh, Jr., 74, of Pittsboro died Friday, (09-29-2006) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, (10-02-2006), at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Kenneth Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Marsh was a native of Chatham County, and a member of Evans Chapel AME Zion Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Alston Marsh of the home; sisters, Mexie M. Burnett of Pittsboro, LaRuth M. White of Siler City; brothers, Cleatis, Oliver, Charles, and Shirley Louis Marsh, all of Pittsboro.
JANE ELIZABETH PHILLIPS BROWN
Jane Elizabeth Phillips Brown, 66, of Sanford died Sunday, (10-01-2006), at Central Carolina Hospital.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, (10-04-2006) at Gulf Presbyterian Church cemetery with Rev. Steve Johnson, officiating.
Pall bearers were Donnie Thomas, Edward Coggins, Eddie Gunter, and Odis Holt.
Mrs. Brown was born in Chatham County and a nursing supervisor at Hill Forest Rest Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Pebble B. Kidd of Sanford; mother, Annie Morris Phillips of Siler City; brother, Jimmie L. Phillips of Lakeland, Florida; and two grandchildren.

MADGE K. BROWN
Madge Kennedy Brown, 78, of Seagrove died Tuesday (10-03-2006) at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday (10-05-2006) at New Center Christian Church with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was a Davidson County native, a homemaker and a member of New Center Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Buster Brown of the home; sons, Benjy Brown of Seagrove, Bryan Brown of Asheboro; and three grandsons.

JAMES ALLEN DORRITY
James Allen Dorrity, 58, of Siler City, died Tuesday (10-03-2006) at Coventry House.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, (10-06-2006) at Pentecostal Victory Temple with Rev. Reggie Rakes and Rev. Darrell Haithcox, officiating. Burial followed at Richland Gospel Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty.
Mr. Dorrity was a native of Randolph County and a member of Pentecostal Victory Temple.
Survivors include sisters, Shirley A. Hayes of Bear Creek, Linda Hodgin of Liberty, Nanny Banks of Greensboro, and Emma Green of Thomasville.

JAMES MONROE (JIM) COOPER
James Monroe Cooper (Jim), 86, of Kannapolis died Friday, (10-06-2006) at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, (10-08-2006) at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis with Rev. Steve Autrey officiating. Interment followed in Carolina Memorial Park.
Mr. Cooper was a native of Chatham County, a driver for Central Motor Lines for 37 years, and a numismatist. He was a member of the N.C. Genealogical Society, Randolph County Genealogical Society, Chatham County Historical Society, a member of Kannapolis Golf Club, Antique Golf Collectors Society and had published several books about antique golf clubs.
Survivors include a son, James Morris Cooper of Kannapolis; a daughter, Shirley Kee of Concord; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a brother, W. E. Cooper of Beuna Park, CA.

EDWARD MAXWELL
Edward Maxwell, 74, of Sanford died Friday, (10-06-2006) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at New Elam Christian Church with Rev. Gary Moore officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Maxwell was a native of Grady County, GA., and a retired construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Ida W. Maxwell; son, Darrell Maxwell of Seffner, Fla.; daughters, Gail Maxwell of the home, Linda Heustess of Moncure, Verna Giddens of Plant City, Fla.; brothers, Gary Maxwell of Thomasville, Ga., Cullen Maxwell, Larry Maxwell, Gerald Maxwell of Cairo, Ga.; sisters, Marydale Thomas of
Boston, Ga., Lorene Bennett of Bloomingdale, Fla., Faye Goolsby and Diane Godwin, both of Cairo, Ga., Jean Roberts of Thonotosassa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

JEFF AUSTIN
Jeffrey (Jeff) Blaine Austin, 20, of 27 Silver Knoll Court, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2006.
A native of Wake County, North Carolina, beloved son of Jeffrey Nelson Austin of Pittsboro, North Carolina and Amy Austin Watson of Greer, South Carolina, he was an employee of Andy Norris Collision and Customs. Jeffrey was a loving and giving son and friend to many; and through his passing, will give life to others.
Also surviving are his step-father, David Watson; step-mother, Kim Austin; a sister, Caroline Austin; step-sister, Brandi Davis; step-brother, Danny Watson; paternal grandmother, Ayler Caldwell of Cragford, Alabama; paternal great-grandmother, Rosa Lee Grooms of Cragford, Alabama; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Ann Walker of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary, conducted by Pastor Ken Harris, Pastor Bobby Shutt, and Rev. Dan Daither.
Pallbearers will be Brad Austin, Jeff Ballenger, Andy Norris, Jon Garlinghouse, Danny Watson, Randon Lewis, and Chris Haddon. Honorary escort will be the members of Faith Baptist Church of Siler City, North Carolina.
Visitation was held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Wood Mortuary.

ERNEST RICHARDSON
Ernest Richardson, 89, of 2664 Silk Hope Road, Siler City died Friday, October 13, 2006 at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Loves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Boyd officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Richardson died after a brief illness while a resident of Presbyterian Home of Hawfields in Mebane. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dixie Mann, Josie Lowe and Bell Shaw. He was a retired farmer and active member of Loves Creek Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Erma Andrew Richardson of Presbyterian Home of Hawfields; daughter, Marilyn Richardson Cole (the late son-in-law, Don) of Columbia, Md.; son, Gary Douglas Richardson and wife, Patsy of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Bonnie Garrett of Burlington, Betty Gonzales of Sunrise, Fla., Ann Isley of Graham; granddaughters, Renee Kissel, Debra Cole, Karen Federman, Suzanna Richardson; and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Thomas Kissel and Jackson and Kaitlin Federman.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 14, 2006, 6 - 8 p.m., at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 South Second Avenue, Siler City. The family was at the home of Mrs. Lois Cole, 721 East Raleigh Street, Siler City at other times.
EMMA KISER CLARK
Emma Kiser Clark, 91, 900 West Dolphin Street, Siler City, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at SunBridge Care Facilities.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Oakley Baptist Church, 2300 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City with Rev. Brian Sandifer, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was a native of Chatham County and retired from A. J. Schneierson & Sons. She was a member of Oakley Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir and the WMU. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Clark and a son, Walter Clark.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Clark Brown and husband, Nowell of Sanford; son, Tom Clark and wife, Jan of Siler City; sister, Ruby Kiser Edwards of Bear Creek; and granddaughter, Nikki Brown of Hickory.
Visitation was held from 7 - 9 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City. At other times, the family was at the home of Tom and Jan Clark.
