Warsaw - Mr. William B. Miller, 78 of 405 S. Gum St. died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Genesis Health Care, Waldorf MD.

Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late Bryant and Minnie Miller.

Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the KEMBA Headquarters, 860 N. Pine St. Warsaw. Burial will follow in Oakridge Memorial Park, Pink Hill.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his family; wife, Arlena Miller of the home; three daughters, five grandchildren; sister, Irene (Otis) Dees of New York and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Salem Chapel FWB Church, Pink Hill. The family will be present from 6:00-7:00 p.m. to receive friends.

Brandon D. Teachey
(July 30, 1981 - July 7, 2012)

Mt. Olive - Mr. Brandon Derail Teachey 30, of 305 W. Kornegay St. died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Wayne Co., he was the son of Mary E. Faison, Pauline D. Teachey and Michael E. Faison.

Life Celebration Service will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church with Pastor Manwell Faison, officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to his mother, Mary (Mae)Faison of the home; his birth mother, Pauline D.(John) Teachey of Goldsboro; father, Michael Faison of the home; one daughter, Aariyah Ny-Jae Faison of Goldsboro; step-mother, Mary M. Faison-Roby of Beulaville; maternal grandmother, Normia Teachey of Dudley; two brothers, Fabian D. Teachey of Dudley and Michael B. Faison of Bunn; four sisters, Crystal R. Murphy, Tanisha C. Faison, Shaneice D. Faison and Keyana D. Faison of Mt. Olive; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Shirley D. Armwood
(September 10, 1939 - July 5, 2012)

Faison - Ms. Shirley D. Armwood, 73 of 2583 W. NC 403 died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Anthony Williams
(August 12, 1962 - June 26, 2012)

U.S. Veteran

VA - Mr. Anothony Williams, 49 of 14071 Madrigal Dr. formally of Mt. Olive died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.

He is the son of Dundy and Cora Williams and was born icon in Brooklyn, NY on August 12, 1962.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 137 Veach's Mill Rd. Warsaw with Rev. Charlie Mitchell, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Williams Cemetery.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his wife, Lisa Williams of the home; three children, Monique (Daniel) Palmer of Ft. Lee, VA, Monica (Steven) Cole of Ft. Folk Vernon, LA and Anthony D. "A.J." Williams Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD; his parents, Dundy and Cora Williams of Goldsboro; two sisters, Teresa Williams of Cheraw, SC and Perlaine Williams of Reston, VA; three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral service at the church on Sunday.

Sammy Junior Monroe
(May 4, 1956 - August 14, 2012)

Seven Springs - Mr. Sammy Junior Monroe, 56 of 2717 Indian Springs Rd. died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late Geraldine Monroe.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, August, 19, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Missonary Baptist Church, 2591 Beautancus, Mt. Olive. Interment will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his wife, Vivian S. Monroe of the home; his children, Kwian Thornes of Houston, TX, Mia Elnes of Cary, Porsche Paige of Charleston, SC, Sammy Monroe Jr. of Eanary Island, Spain, Justin Monroe of Houston, TX and Shay Manley of the home; four grandchildren; one sister, Velma Burkes of Greensboro; one brother, Donald Lofton of Goldsboro; mother-in-law, Rosa Simpson of Mt. Olive, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Saturday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home.

Beulah C. Moore
(September 19, 1926 - August 3, 2012)

Warsaw - Mrs. Beulah C. Moore of 316 Euray Moore Rd. died Friday, August 3, 2012 at her home.

She is the daughter of the late William And Johnnie McKiver Carlton and the wife of the late Euray Moore Sr.

funeral service will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Magnolia, 423 W. Carroll St. Magnolia. Rev. Tony Harrington will officiate. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Vernon R. Moore and David L. Moore and his wife, Geraldine of Warsaw and Willie E. Moore and wife, Delores of Willingboro, NJ, Euray Moore Jr. and wife, Sarah of Brooklyn, NY; daughters, Judy M. Jones of Riverdale, MD, Jacqueline Claiborne and husband, Buford of Emporia, VA, Loretta Monk and husband, Michael of Fayetteville and Luanna Jean Lowe and husband, Reginald of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Mary M. Carlton of Warsaw; brother-in-law, Dommie Miller of Warsaw and sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Carlton of Warsaw.

Beulah is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family community and church friends.

In additon to her parents and husband, she has been reunited with her daughter, Angelener S. Fields.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the church.

Rufus Pickett
(April 11, 1947 - July 25, 2012)

Kenansville - Mr. Rufus Pickett of 289 W. Best Rd. died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his home.

He was the son of the late Samuel and Icelean Whitehead Pickett and was born icon on April 11, 1947 in Duplin Co.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Kenansville with Elder Jacob Pickett, officiating. Burial will follow in Middleton Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Mary Jones Pickett of the home; five sons, Rufus T. Pickett of Wilmington, Anthony Gerald Jones of Warsaw, Reginald E. Jones of Havelock, Darryl Jones of Wilmington and Michael Carr of Gastonia; one daughter, Iris Highsmith of Greensboro; three brothers, Rusion Pickett of Beulaville, Elder Jacob Pickett of Dudley and Emerson Pickett of Durham; four sisters, Susan Brown of Durham, Mary P. Douglas of Bentonville, SC, Janice McDuffie and Yvonne Cobb of Durham; sixteen grandchildren; one great- grandchild; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A time of viewing and reflection will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Arthur Woodruff Fletcher
(January 30, 1925 - August 24, 2012)

Warsaw - Mr. Arthur Fletcher, 87 of 434 E. North St. died Friday, August 24, 2012 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center, Lillington, NC.

Born in Auburn, NY, he is the son of the late Frederick and Alberta Staton Fletcher.

Life Celebraton Service will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his daughters, Eileen Wright of Brooklyn, NY and Linda Headen of Pittsboro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Edna Wright of Warsaw; two step-children, Earl Wright and Lisa Wright; nine step-grandchildren, nine step great- grandchildren; brother, Meritt Fletcher of Auburn, NY; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he has been reunited with his step-daughter, Barbara Williams.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 -1:00 p.m. and at other times at the home of Jetwan Williams, 522 N. Pine St. Warsaw.

Goldie Bynum
(August 3, 1914 - August 16, 2012)

Mt. Olive - Mrs. Goldie Bynum, 98 died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Duplin Co., she is the daughter of the late Robert and Marzella Vann Bryant.

Homegoing Service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 12 noon at Wilson Chapel Missonary Baptist Church, Turkey. Burial will follow in the Bryant Cemetery.

Her love and legacy will be cherished by her step-children, Joel Bynum (Gerrie) Curtis Bynum (Jackie) and Myrtle Bynum Miller (Allen); two nephews, Dr. Joseph Boykin Jr. (Debbie) and Clarence Taylor; niece, Delilah Taylor Gomes; sister-in-law, Mary Rose Bryant, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Olive.
