Dudley - Ms. Marnice Garris, 80 died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Goldsboro Assisted Living.

She was born icon in Duplin Co., on September 18, 1934 to her parents, James Edward and Frances Joyner Garris.

funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Apostolic Church with Elder Swindell Best, officiating. Burial will follow in Bowdens Cemetery.

Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her brothers, Robert (Diane) Garris of Dudley and James Nathaniel (Hassie) Garris of Brooklyn, NY; a niece, nephews other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at 142 Southern Plaza Drive, Dudley.

Mildred S. Murrill
(July 27, 1926 - February 8, 2015)

Kenansville - Mrs. Mildred S. Murrill, 88 of 1317 N NC 903 Hwy. went from labor to reward on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

Born in Duplin County, she is the daughter of the late James and Lina Bell Southerland and wife of the late John Murrill.

A Trimphant Homegoing Service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pearsall Chapel United Holy Church with Elder Quincy Brickhouse, officiating. She will be laid to rest at Devotional Gardens.

Her love and legacy will be cherished by two daughters, Phadra Merritt (Alonzo) of Garner and Venessa Hobbs (Donald Sr.) of Kenansville; three grandchildren, Johnnell Murrill, Donald Hobbs Jr. and Jamar Hobbs; special granddaughter, Shalika Murrill; five great- grandchildren, Daiqwan Murrill, Malik Murrill, Kiarra Murrill, Jamyrah Hobbs and Jayden Hobbs; four sisters, Pauline Reddick and Inez Cox of Greenville, Katie Houston of Kenansville and Jannie Parker of Beulaville and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Eddie Ray Bass
(October 8, 1946 - January 8, 2015)

Dudley - Deacon Eddie Ray Bass, 68 of 121 Clover Ridge Dr. went from labor to reward on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home.

Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late Paul and Hazel Miller Bass.

Homegoing Service will be held Friday, Janaury 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at New Sts. Delight Holy Church with Apostle Deborah Kornegay, officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.

He survived by his children, Gary (Lorraine) Shearod of Austin, TX, Cheryl (Bryant) Fogg of Raleigh, Shelanda Shearod of Atlanta, GA, Derrick Bass of Raleigh and Desmond Bass of Clayton; sixgrandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth (Deidra) Bass of LaPlata, MD and Rickie Bass of Dudley, aunt, Rachel Bass of Mt. Olive, uncle, Joe Bass of Mt. Olive, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Thursday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Lee Edward Eure
(May 9, 1930 - January 30, 2015)

Mt. Olive - Mr. Lee Edward Eure, 84 of 444 E. Hillsboro St. went from labor to reward on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare Mt. Olive Center.

He was born icon in Gates Co., NC on May 9, 1930 and is the son of Ruben Henderson Eure and Lillie Chaney Eure.

Homegoing Service will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church with Apostle Frank M. Dawson, officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Dessie Shirley Eure of the home; sons, Zachary (Sheleta) Eure of Goldsboro, Ava (Ronald) Barnes of Montross, VA, Lynette (Apostle Frank) Dawson of Goldsboro, Wayne Eure of Warsaw and Bonita (Glenn) Pearson of Goldsboro; other children, Carver Knight, Sharon (Andrew) Boone, Michael (Brenda) Knight and Brenda (Darian) Riddick; brothers, Henderson Eure Jr. of Gates and Bennie (Arnez) of New York; sisters, Arlene Mabry of New York, Selma (Fred) McEachern of Garner, Rose (Roberto) Martin of Dacula, GA; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He has been reunited with his son, Gregory; his beloved granddaughter, NiKita; brothers, Ulysess, Titus, Roosevelt, and Ellison and sister, Glenn M. Johnson.

A time of viewing and reflection will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel and one hour prior to funeral service at the church on Friday.

Annie Mae Holliday
(January 14, 1936 - January 25, 2015)

Brooklyn, NY - Mrs. Annie Mae Holliday, 79 died January 25, 2015 at Interfaith Medical Center.

She was born icon on January 14, 1936 in Bartow, Ga. to Joseph Parker Jr. and Carrie Parker.

Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Garris Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Wheeler, officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.

Her love and legacy will be forever cherished by her children, Linda Marie Stephens, Willie Lee Stephens, Ronnie Stephens (Lena Stephens), Victor Holliday (Sharon Holliday), Valerie Holliday, Stanley Holliday and Phillip Jermain Holliday (Nyisha Holliday); nine siblings, James Parker, Betty Collins, Charles Parker, Marie Stallings, Annie Warthen, Thomas Parker, Rose Brown, Chester Parker and Al Parker; twenty grandchildren, four great grandchildren, seven sister-in-laws, eight brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Barbara Ann Hill
(October 24, 1957 - January 23, 2015)

Clinton - Miss Barbara Ann Hill, 57 of 407-B Sampson St. transitioned on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born icon in Duplin Co. to her parents Erwin Hill Sr. and the late Thelma Blue Hill on January 23, 2015.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Long Branch Disciple Church with Dr. Henry Rogers, officiating. Burial will follow in Faison Community Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish loving memories to her father, Erwin Hill Sr. of Faison; brother, Edward "Jill" Hill of Faison; one sister, Thelma Hill of Clinton and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, Janaury 31, 2015 from 3:00 7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at 126 Cousin Fannie Rd. Faison, NC.

Charles Jefferson Wallace
July 18, 1951 - November 11, 2013

Kenansville - Mr. Charles Jefferson Wallace, 62 of 107 Sarah Jones Lane died Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home.

Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late Adolph Wallace and Annie Mae Bizzell Wallace.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at KEMBA Headquarters. Burial will follow in Middleton Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Gwendolyn Jones Wallace of the home; two daughters, Glenda Collins (Dennis) of Highpoint and Sparkal Wallace of Charlotte; two sons, Jeffrey Wallace (Bettye) of Charlotte and Carlos Wallace of Kenansville; six grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Wallace and Linwood Wallace of Mt. Olive; one sister, Betty Agee of Mt. Olive; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present to receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Rosa Lee Moore
May 11, 1940 - November 1, 2013

Kenansville - Mrs. Rosa Lee Moore, 73 of 993 Paul Ed Dail Rd. transitioned on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY.

She is the daughter of the late Lucy McArthur and was born icon on May 11, 1940 in Kenansville, NC.

Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Kenansville with Rev. Cornolius Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.

She leaves to cherish her love and legacy to her children, Lucine Willis (Jerry) of Laurel, MD and Malcolm Moore (Sylvia) of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren; a cousin, whom she cherished as her son, Dennis Outlaw of Brooklyn, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A time of viewing and reflection with the family present will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

James A. Ezzell

"Spuck" as he was affectionally called by family and friends was born icon September 22, 1959 in Wayne County.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Calyspo with Rev. Anthony Ezzell, officiating.

His love for family will be cherished by his mother, Bernestine E. West of Mt. Olive, NC; special son, Kevin Darden of the home; father, Archie Daniels Sr. (Shirley) of Goldsboro, NC; three brothers, Kenneth Garrett of Asbury Park, NJ, Archie Daniels Jr. of Goldsboro, NC and Kevin Maurice Daniels of Greensboro, NC; a special niece, Dionna Daniels of Goldsboro, NC; cousin/brother of the heart, Anthony Ezzell (Gloria) of Mt. Olive, NC; cousins/sisters of the heart, Ruthie E. Bailey of Dudley, NC and Shaunita Ezzell of Goldsboro, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
