D. & Bobbie Hodges of Pasadena, TX, Gary and Joanne Hodges of Gadsden, AL, Phil and Patsy Hodges of Owensboro, KY, Don and Pat Hodges of Freeport, FL, and Jean and Jim Davis of Spanish Fort, AL; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many close friends in the Bayou La Batre and Spanish Fort areas.
Mrs. Hodges passed away early Saturday morning in her room at her grandson Dan Davis’ home in Spanish Fort. She went to Heaven peacefully with her grandson, Mark Davis, at her side.
Mrs. Hodges, fondly remembered as Mother or Grandmother – never Mama, Granny, or Grandma, had two great passions in her life. The first was her personal and loving relationship with God; the second her family. Grandmother loved all children; she raised five of her own and helped raise her grandchildren. She was happiest when she was in her home and it was filled with her family. She was always patient, calm, and loving. Like so many others, Grandmother lost her home in Bayou La Batre to Hurricane Katrina, but she was never homeless. Everyone wanted her to move in with them. We were all so blessed to have her for almost 91 year. She will be greatly missed.
Grandmother will be taken to her family home in Benson and laid to rest next to her husband and other family members.
