Melvin Brunson Crisco
(January 8, 1931 - September 21, 2011)
Melvin Brunson Crisco, 80, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast of Concord, NC.
Mr. Crisco was born January 8, 1931, in Stanly County.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Lee Crisco; his mother, Isadora Harris Crisco; his brother, Otis L. Crisco; and son-in-law, D. Max Baucom.
Melvin was a dedicated truck driver and a long time farmer.
He was a life-long member of the Oakboro Rural Fire Department.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Albemarle officiated by Rev. Chip Alsobrooks.
Burial will follow in the Smith’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery of Oakboro.
At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Edna Hartsell Crisco, of the home; two daughters, Beverly C. Baucom and Sharon C. Hartmann and husband, Todd, all of Oakboro; grandchildren, Michael C. Baucom of Lenoir, Julia B. York, Joshua Hartmann, Cory Hartmann, and Collin Hartmann, all of Oakboro; and one sister, Minnie Ruth Rollings and husband, Clyde, of Jefferson, SC.

Joseph Andrew Sciascia
(December 24, 1991 - September 30, 2011)
Joseph Andrew Sciascia, 19 of Harrisburg, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2011.
Mr. Sciascia was born on December 24, 1991, to Pamela and Steven Sciascia.
He is survived by his brothers, Michael and Matthew Sciascia, and sister Sarah Sciascia, all of the home; paternal grandmother, Hedy Sciascia of Monroe; and maternal grandmother, Diane Sell Everette of Monroe, NC.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord from 4 to 6 PM.
The funeral will be on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Rocky River Presbyterian Church at 4 PM.
Joseph had a passion for music.
He was a gifted artist, talented athlete, loving brother, and a wonderful son.
He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Willitta Dawn Perry
(March 3, 1958 - October 4, 2011)
Willitta Dawn Perry, 53, of Taylors, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011.
Ms. Perry was born March 3, 1958 at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital of Concord to parents Martha Ann Love and William Walter Perry, Jr.
Her family moved to Greensboro and later to Taylors, SC, where Dawn attended Greenville Tech and became interested in nursing care.
She was employed in the Greenville Hospital System, first at Greenville General Hospital as a CNA, and later at Patewood Medical Campus as a PCT, where she was employed at the time of her death.
Dawn took great pride with working in the medical field and was awarded the “Pride of Patewood” in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Love Perry.
Survivors include her father, William W. Perry, Jr.; her brother, William W. Perry, III; her aunts, Kay Newton and husband, Wylie, of Concord, Delette Bost and husband, Emmett, of Charlotte, and Betsy Love and special friend, Sandra Kirkland, of Annapolis, Maryland; cousins, Phillip Gray and wife, Donna, of Concord, Bruce Gray of Collettsville, and Kelly McLain of Kannapolis; and great-aunt Lovada Widenhouse of Concord.
Two memorial services will be held, one in Concord and one in Greenville, SC at a later date.
Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC.

Donald Richard Mullis
(November 22, 1931 - September 28, 2011)
Donald Richard Mullis, 79, of 4206 Flowes Store Road Concord passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his home.
He was born on November 22, 1931 in Cabarrus County to the late George Washington and Callie Mae Herrin Mullis.
He is also preceded in death by brother Harold Mullis, and sister Maxine Plummer.
Mr. Mullis worked for Cannon Mills and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
The family meeting place will be at the home.
A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Friday, September 30th from 6 until 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church 5340 Flowes Store Road Concord on Saturday, October 1st at 4 PM following a 30 Min. state, with Pastor Jimmy Hall and Rev. Farrell Shimpock officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Barbee Mullis of the home; daughters, Rhonda Long of Stanfield, Beverly Mantooth, and Donna M. Campbell both of Concord; grandchildren, Beverly Plummer, Brandi Mantooth, Brandon Mantooth, Robin Morgan, Barbi Ortz, Kevin Broome, and Jonnet Campbell; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Mullis of Concord, and Bill Mullis of Fayetteville.

Coreen Ogilvie Luciw Danks
(July 16, 1934 - October 10, 2011)
Coreen Ogilvie Luciw Danks, 77, of Concord, NC passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord, NC.
She was born on July 16, 1934 in Westchester County, NY to the late Sara Mae Kennedy Ogilvie and James Gordon Ogilvie.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband Fred Walter Luciw and her second husband Rev. Edward Royal Danks.
Mrs. Danks was a member of First Presbyterian Church, member of The PEO of Connecticut, Elder of the Church-Noroton Presbyterian.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her son, Paul Luciw of Sharon, Vermont; daughter, Ruthanne Scolaro of Concord, NC; father, James Gordon Ogilvie of Squeim, Washington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
