Vera J. Hancock
Vera J. Hancock, 79, of Bartlesville, OK died Feb. 1 in Bartlesville.
She was born in Manassa, CO to the late Christen Peter and Kate Estella Mortensen Jensen and was a retired administrative assistant to the Secretary of Defense in the United States Department of Defense.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by her husband, John Walden "Wally" Hancock of Bartlesville, OK; a daughter, Tamalie Hancock of Fort Smith, AK; two sons, Robert Brent Hancock and his wife Ann of Manteo and Barry Wood Hancock and his wife Sharon of Fort Wayne, IN; a sister, Wanda Adair of Logan, UT; five grandchildren, Shauna Marie Barker and husband, John of Richmond, VA, Jessie Renee Hancock and Lacey Kate Hancock, both of Manteo and Kealy Ostrom of Grabill, IN; and four great grandchildren, Christian Joseph and Caleb Daniel Barker, Isabella Jadyn Bartell, and John Jeremiah Hancock.
A graveside service will be conducted on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Midgett Family Cemetery, Manteo with President Jeff Jacobson officiating.
The family will receive friends at Twiford's Colony Chapel on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. and at other times at the residence of Robert and Ann Hancock, 155 Gareth Circle, Manteo, NC.
William Samuel Hauser
William Samuel Hauser, 76, died at an Outer Banks medical facility Jan. 24.
Born in Barbourville, KY, he was the son of the late Gustav Adolf Hauser and the late Mary Herzig Hauser and the widower of Virginia Woodson Hauser.
He lived on the Outer Banks since 1978 and was a retired investigator with the FBI.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are four sons, Bill Hauser of Ashburn, VA, Gus Hauser of Chattanooga, TN, Lewis Hauser of Springfield, VA and Clay Hauser of Kitty Hawk; two sisters, Louise Dizney of Jacksonville, NC and Betty Sanslow of Knoxville, TN; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at All Saints Episcopal Church with Rev. Thomas E. Wilson officiating.

Robert Patrick Jankech
Robert Patrick Jankech, 67, of Frisco died Feb. 3 at his residence.
He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, son of the late Ludwig and Mary Pollack Jankech.
He was the owner/operator of an Arnold Bread franchise, an avid fisherman, a volunteer for Fish With A Ranger, and was a former employee of the Frisco Fishing Pier.
Mr. Jankech is survived by his wife, Judith Bethcer Jankech of the residence; a daughter, Lisa Durrua and husband Kenneth of Point Pleasant, NJ; a granddaughter, Arielle Durrua of Point Pleasant, NJ; two sisters, Maryanne Kneipher of Plainfield, NJ and Cynthia Jankech of Somerset, NJ; a brother, Louis Jankech of Phillipsburg, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Jacquelyn Lee Gallier Jennings
Jacquelyn Lee Gallier Jennings, 71, of Nags Head, passed away Jan. 19.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Marshall and Selma Lee Moore Gallier; and one sister, Ann Gallier Stringfield.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Gallier Fitzpatrick and her husband, William; four nieces, Aretina Serafim Rogers, Christina Serafim Tryon, and Patricia S. Blankenship, all of Richmond and Lee Ann Stringfield of Illinois; and one nephew, William Judson Stringfield.
Mrs. Jennings was a retired IBM draftsman.
A graveside service was held Jan. 22 in Sunset Memorial Park in Richmond.
Calvin Jordan
Calvin Jordan, 78, died Dec. 3 at the Outer Banks Hospital.
Born in Seaboard, N.C., he was the son of the late Henry Jordan and Sallie Ransom Jordan and the husband of Wilhemenia Artis Jordan of the home.
He was a production manager for Bendix Aviation Company in Teterboro, N.J. for 28 years.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus.
He was a veteran, having served for seven years in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jo Theresa Jenkins of Somerset, N.J.; three sons, Charles Jordan of Silver Spring, MD, Keith Jordan of Kensington, MD and Brian Jordan of Brookeville, MD; two sisters, Dorothy Jordan of Seaboard and Bernice Emanuel of Silver Spring, MD; one brother, Carl Jordan of Marietta, GA and six grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held on Dec. 9 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Bill Stickle officiating.

Virginia Shaw Logan
Virginia Shaw Logan, 91, of Manteo died Jan. 8 in a Nags Head nursing home.
Born in Flint, MI, she was the daughter of the late Gainey C.M. and Bertha Thomas Shaw and was the widow of Leonard Gilmore Logan, Sr.
She was a retired librarian and member of St. Andrew's by the Sea Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a son, Leonard G. Logan, Jr. of Duck; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's by the Sea Episcopal Church Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles E.B. Gill officiating.

Robert Lyle Manville
Robert Lyle Manville, 51, of Kill Devil Hills died Jan. 24 at his residence.
Mr. Manville was born in Oceanside, CA and was a surfboard shaper for U.S. Fiberglass.
He was the son of Mary Litschert Antonucci of Kill Devil Hills and the late Donald Earl Antonucci.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Michael McCarthy
Michael Dennis McCarthy, 49, of Hatteras died Jan. 20 in Hatteras.
Mr. McCarthy was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and was a plastics technician.
Mr. McCarthy was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy.
He was the son of Margaret McGrath McCarthy and the late Warren McCarthy and was the husband of Brenda Minor McCarthy.
Besides his wife surviving are one daughter, Tara McCarthy Reid of Kannapolis, N.C., and one son, Ryan Michael McCarthy of Hatteras; three sisters, Kelly Grant, Kathleen Pastore and Bridgett McGovern; one brother, Mark McCarthy; and four grandchildren, Matthew McCarthy, Mickey McCarthy, Ashton Reid and Logan Reid.
A funeral service was held at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church on Jan. 23 by Father Andre Izac.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 602 N. Hughes Blvd., Elizabeth City, N.C. 27909.
