She was blessed to travel the world and she taught for years in the public school system, lovingly tutoring young lives in Bertie, Craven and Wayne Counties. However, her most meaningful endeavor while visiting this world, was to further her relationship with her God even in light of the most adverse medical condition which she contended with during her last 23 years on this earth. It was through her committed walk with God that she never complained and was able to live as a shining example for her family, friends and contacts. She was always trusting in His will and relied upon His grace and love to successfully face adversity in this life while eagerly anticipating her eternal reunion with her father and other family and friends who have preceded her in death. As her earthly life neared its end, her mother, Addie Ellis Utley-Jeffress was able to once again, lovingly nurture her daughter and comfort her as she took the hand of Jesus and peacefully passed unto the heavenly realm.
