Mrs. Eunice Shepherd Isaac age 88, of Jefferson, NC died on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mrs. Isaac was born on October 31, 1922 in Ashe County, NC to the late Fulton and Florence Mae Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Farmer. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Isaac is survived by her twin daughters - Marilyn Osborne and Carolyn Calhoun both of West Jefferson also surviving 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one niece.

Wiley J. L. Miller
Mr. Wiley J. L. Miller age 74, of Wilkesboro, NC died on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mr. Miller was born on October 27, 1936 in Ashe County to the late James and Mary Miller. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reeves Jones. Burial will follow in Claude Mash cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Mr. Miller is survived by: Three Brothers - Herbert, Harold & Albert Miller all of North Wilkesboro, NC, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Margie Frances Ross Adams
Margie Frances Ross Adams age 84, of Creston, NC died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Adams was born on September 18, 1926 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Cyrus and Cora Wyatt Ross. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Brother, Harley Ross, Niece, Kimberly Anderson & Nephew, Wil Church

Gary Dean Medley
Mr. Gary Dean Medley age 57, of Todd, NC died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Medley was born on September 19, 1953 in Ashe County to the late Clifford and Josephine Turnmire Medley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Sandy Roland, Christina McCoy & Loris Rash.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dean Shaw, Rev. Clifford Greer and Rev. David Lyalls. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Welch cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday prior to the service.
Mr. Medley is survived by: His Wife: Bonnie Medley, Sister: Tina Taylor, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Willa Deane Miller
Willa Deane Miller age 72, of Grassy Creek, NC died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Miller was born on May 25, 1938 in Ashe, NC to Zelphia Osborne. Mrs.Miller was preceded in death by her step-father and mother, Martin and Zelphia Osborne Wockenfuss.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Danny Miller, Rev. Reeves Jones. Burial will follow in Powers Family cemetery. Tommy C. Wallace
Mr. Tommy C. Wallace age 70 of Jefferson died Friday at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. Chris Goodman. Entombment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer with military Rites.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Sunday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Wallace is survived by: His wife: Shirley Barker Wallace, One son: Chris Wallace of the home, One sister: Elizabeth “Lib” West of Jefferson, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and several great nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Peggy Lea Hartsoe Woods
Mrs. Peggy Lea Hartsoe Woods age 63, of Warrensville, NC died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs.Woods was born on October 1, 1947 in Ashe, NC to the late A.Q. and Virginia Church Hartsoe Roten. Peggy loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her other family members who called her "Nanny". She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending when she was able.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Fred Richardson, Rev. Joey McClure and Minister Danny Miller. Burial will follow in Staggs Creek Community cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Barbara Lynn Arndt
Mrs. Barbara Lynn Trumm Arndt age 51, of West Jefferson, NC died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Arndt was born on November 10, 1959 in Leesburg, FL to Clifford and Francis Murphy Trumm. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by infant son, Zachary Arndt. Barbara worked for Smoky Mountain BBQ for many years. She loved living in the mountains and never met a stranger.

Mrs. Gracie Wyatt Long age 97, of West Jefferson, NC died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Long was born on October 14, 1913 in Wilkes, NC to John and Ettie Bare Wyatt. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband: William "G" Long, 1 brother and 4 sisters. She loved quilting and working in her garden.

Thomas Jason Ring
Mr. Thomas Jason Ring age 68, of Grassy Creek, NC died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his mother's home in Lansing. Mr. Ring was born on December 5, 1941 in Ashe County. Mr. Ring was preceded in death by his parents Worth and Colene Sexton Adams and grandson Austin Ring. Jason was the owner and operator of the Lansing Barber Shop, Lansing Mattress and the Lansing Fly Shop. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jason was always willing to help anyone who was in need. He was a long time member of the Lansing Volunteer Fire Department. He was currently serving as the Mayor of Lansing an office which he has held for the past several years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Francis. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Badger Funeral Home.
Mr. Ring is survived by: four children- Jenifer Dixon and husband Clay of Jacksonville, NC, Sherry Jordan and husband Kevin of TN, Tim Ring and wife Lori of Charlotte, NC and Pam Bledsoe and husband Jeff of Mt. Airy, NC, five grandchildren, Harley Dixon, Scout Dixon, Noble Jordan, Kristen Jordan Seatz, Landon Ring, one great-grandson, Sawyer Jordan, and a special friend, Cathy Russell also survive.

Spencer Carson Miller
Mr. Spencer Carson Miller, better known as Carson age 39, of Jefferson, NC died Friday, November 5, 2010 at his home. Mr. Miller was born on February 3, 1971 in Ashe County to Swader and Nancy Bare Miller. Carson was preceded in death by his father, Swader James Miller. He enjoyed going to Oak Hill ball games and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Ashe County Wildlife Club and enjoyed shooting.

Ada Grace Winebarger Miller
Ada Grace Winebarger Miller age 89, of West Jefferson, NC died on Thursday, November 4, 2010 in Elk Park, NC. Mrs. Miller was born on May 16, 1921 in Ashe, NC to Larkin and Minnie Miller Winebarger. She enjoyed quilting and making pine roping. She was a very hard worker. Including her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Miller, brothers, Walter, Charlie, Worth, and Earl Winebarger, sister, Aulcie Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Riverview Primitive Baptist Church by Elder James McNeill and Rev. Robert Harless. Thelmus "Bunn" Blevins
Mr. Thelmus Roger Blevins age 82, of Jefferson, NC went home to be with his heavenly father Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Mr. Blevins was born January 14, 1928 in Williamson, WV to Fieldon and Rose Hamm Blevins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Blevins and sister, Irene Powers. He has lived in Ashe County since the 1930's. He retired from Thomasville Industries after 43 years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Warrensville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George Grubb & Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
