Tim Taylor

Funeral services for Tim Taylor, 59, of Gladstone are pending with Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.

Tim passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at St Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson, ND.

Tim Taylor was born November 5, 1955.

He worked in construction his whole life and was known to be a hard worker.

Some of Tim’s interests included having BBQ with friends and fishing.

He was a very loyal friend and will be greatly missed by those close to him; Pam Belile, Angie Moore, Mary & Sam Gilbert, Brad Brennan and Scott “Dog.”

Scott is preceded in death by his son Tim Brian Taylor.

Floraine Geving

Funeral services for Floraine Geving, 94, of Plevna, MT will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at the American Lutheran Church, Baker, with Pastors Bruce and Reba Kolasch officiating. Burial will take place at Bonnievale cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker.

Floraine passed away March 8, 2015 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT.

Floraine Wilson Geving was born May 12, 1920, in Ismay, MT, the daughter of Cliff and Pearl (Vanderdort) Wilson. Dr. Carrie and Midwife Sadie May assisted in the birth. Floraine spent her school years in the Ismay school system, graduating from high school in 1938. She spent the next year doing odd jobs. On April 17, 1939, Floraine was united in marriage to Bennie Geving in Miles City, MT. After the wedding, the couple moved to the Geving farm near Plevna. Floraine and Bennie welcomed two sons to their family, Craig Richard and Roger Owen. After Bennie passed away in 2005, Floraine remained on the farm until 2010, at which point she moved into Quality Personal Care. In 2013 she moved into Fallon Medical where she has lived ever since.

She was a true caregiver, spending most of her life caring for various members of her family as they battled medical illness. Faith was very important to Floraine. Floraine was also known as the “Community Grandmother” watching out for all of the neighborhood children. They rarely left her house without a meal or snack. Floraine will be remembered for her warm and welcoming personality that brightened everyone else’s day.

Floraine is survived by her son, Roger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Bennie; son, Craig; and one sister.

Patrick Kessel

A memorial service for Patrick W. Kessel, 74, of Dickinson, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Break Forth Bible Church, 38 S State Ave in Dickinson with Pastor Larry Phalen officiating. In accordance with Patrick’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Patrick passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND.

Patrick was born March 17, 1940 in Dickinson to Frank and Matilda (Hutzenbuler) Kessel. He was married to Shirley Namyniuk on November 4, 1963 in Belfield. The couple was blessed with 4 sons and 1 daughter: Rodney and Shena of Helena, MT, Aaron and Tracy of Sidney, MT, Francis and Missy of Stevens Point, WI, Tammy of Belfield, ND and Cory and Dietra of Casper, WY. Patrick has 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Esther Obrigewitch

A funeral service for Esther Lorna Obrigewitch, 86, of Dunn Center, will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer with Pastor Donavon Kack officiating. Burial will follow in Dunn Center City Cemetery.

Visitation for Esther will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.

Esther passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015, at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah.

Esther was born and raised on the homestead north of Dunn Center, ND, on December 4, 1928, to Christop and Anna (Baisch) Stohler.

She attended a country school through the eighth grade.

On June 30, 1965, she married Pius Obrigewitch.

Together they ranched west of Killdeer until Pius died due to a farm accident in 1979.

Esther then moved to Dunn Center where she lived until September 2013 when she moved to Dickinson.

For many years, Esther bowled on several leagues in Killdeer.

Her skill in bowling led her on many trips for bowling tournaments.

Esther enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

She also loved playing cards and dice games with family and friends over the years.

Even though Esther had no children, she was very close to her nieces and nephews.

She will always have a special place in their hearts.

Esther is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorene Stohler; nephews and nieces, Barbara Favorito (California), Ron Jenkins (Wyoming), Connie Stohler (Minnesota), Judy French (South Dakota), Patricia Wenko (Beulah), Cynthia Bradrick (Colorado), Carleen Hart (Minnesota), and Andrew Stohler (Fargo).

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pius; sisters, Carolyn Jenkins, Ann Favorito, and Ruth Stohler; brother, Oscar Stohler; brother-in-law Charles Favorito; and special friend, Alvin Luckow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sakakawea Home Health & Hospice in Beulah.

Sylvester Schneider

Sylvester Anton Schneider was born November 19, 1932, on the family farm 10 miles northeast of Glen Ullin, the son of Gertrude (Geck) and Mathias Schneider, Jr.

He grew up and attended country school near Glen Ullin; graduating from Glen Ullin High School.

On September 9, 1961, Sylvester and Barbara Gatzke were united in marriage.

To this union, five children were born: Debbie, Brian, Scott, Kolina and Sheila.

Together, Sylvester and Barbara raised their family on their farm northeast of Glen Ullin, until moving to town in 1973.

Sylvester retired from farming and custom combining in 1996.

After farming, Sylvester worked in construction, was a truck driver, school bus driver, and retired from Braun Oil in 2007.

Sylvester was a member of the Bethel Assembly in Glen Ullin, serving as a board member and head usher until 1996.

He was a member of New Life Worship Center in Beulah for the past 19 years.

Sylvester is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Debbie Schmidt (friend Dennis Combs), sons Brian (Cindy), Scott, and daughter Kolina Schantz; all of Glen Ullin, and daughter Sheila (Alan) Wolfard of Bloomfield, NM; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Pelton(Chris Wolf), Jeremy (Andrea)Schmidt, Caralea (Lucas) Vogelsang, Jesse Schmidt, Alex, Sierra and Adam Schneider, Sara (Zackary) Blotske, Riley Schantz, and Ellyana and Israel ‘Kai’ Wolfard; 10 great-grandchildren, Layla, Taylor and Alyssa Pelton, Carson Wolf, Jaicee, Ashton and Jackson Vogelsang, Nevaeh Germain, Brinley Schantz, and Shailynn Blotske; brothers, Leonard, of Dickinson, Jim (Micky) of Moorhead, MN, Leo (Mary Lou) of Belfield, Willie (La Rae) of Rochester, MN, and John of Dickinson; and sisters, Viola Weinhardt of Glen Ullin, Florence Weinberger of Dickinson, Irene (Don) Moffett of Fallon, MT, Bernice Walker of Lindsay, MT, Laura (Fred) Wehri of Glen Ullin, Margie Ternes of Mandan, Dorothy (Emil) Sauvageau of Belfield and Rita Wedell of San Jose, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Gertrude Schneider; and a brother, Lawrence.

Sylvester passed away, Monday, March 02, 2015 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem, ND.
