WILLISTON -- Beulah Sundby, 81, Williston, died Dec. 30, 1996 in the Williston nursing home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Edla Dwyer
ALEXANDER -- Edla M. Dwyer, 75, Alexander, died Dec. 27, 1996, in her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alexander, with burial in Alexander Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; two sons, Ben and Bob, both of Alexander; and two daughters, Beth Hermanson, Williston, and Patty Idler, Reno. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Margaret Riha
Margaret Mary Riha, 71, 500 W. Boulevard Ave., Bismarck, died Dec. 29, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Further arrangements are pending.

Kerry Heidt
Services for Kerry Lynn Heidt, 21, Mott, will be at 1 p.m. MST Wednesday at Church of St. Vincent de Paul, Mott, with the Revs. Dennis Schafer, Charles Heidt and Robert Pestal officiating. Special music will be provided by Peggy Crane, organist, Dave Crane, Leon and Alicia Heick, soloists. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Justin, Eugene, Gerard, Albinuis and C.J. Heidt, and Trevor Greig. All Kerry's friends and the Class of 1994 are considered honorary bearers.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight.

Kerry Lynn Heidt was born Sept. 16, 1975, at Bismarck, to Claude and Norma (Hoff) Heidt. Kerry was 6 years old when the Heidt family moved to Mott from Mandan to operate the shoe store.

Kerry attended school in Mott, participating in band, chorus, some sports and cheerleading. She enjoyed participating in 4-H and Girl Scouts, and was a member of Teens for Life. She attended the Church of St. Vincent and the CCD and CYO programs. Her special joy was acting and was in most of the Missoula children's theater performances, especially as Glynda, the good witch in ``Wizard of Oz" and Gretel in ``Hansel and Gretel." She also enjoyed reading, music and being with her friends. Kerry had a special smile that reached out and befriended others. In April 1992, she was involved in a vehicle accident which caused a severe brain injury and left her dependent upon others for her care. She was hospitalized in Bismarck and then resided for nearly two years at Bonell Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Greeley, Colo., before entering the nursing center in Mott, where she could be closer to her family.

She died Dec. 28, 1996, in the Mott nursing home.

She is survived by her parents, Claude and Norma Heidt; one brother, Lance, Mott; two sisters, Angela and Lara, both of Mott; her grandparents, Kasper and Josephine Heidt, New England; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emil and Christine Hoff.

The family prefers memorials to Head Injury Association North Dakota, 2111 E. Main Ave., West Fargo, N.D. 58078.

Mathias 'Matt' Heinert
Mathias R. "Matt" Heinert, 81, 515 N. Eighth St., died Dec. 1, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at noon Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charles Heidt officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a vigil.

Matt was born Feb. 25, 1915, at Solen, the son of Raphael and Celestine (Erhardt) Heinert. He was raised and educated at Solen. Matt married Rose Ressler, July 7, 1936, at Sacred Heart Church, Solen. They farmed for several years at Solen. In 1947 he moved his family to Bismarck. He did construction work for a short time and then worked for Bismarck Grocery for about a year. He went to work for Missouri Valley Motors in 1948 and retired from there in 1981. After his retirement from Missouri Valley, he worked part-time at the Eagles Club as a doorman until he became ill a few months ago.

Matt was a life member of the Eagles and served as president in 1960 and 1961. He had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Chris Doll, Mandan, Donna and Bob Harvey, Bismarck, and Kathy and Andy Bergman, Tacoma, Wash.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Marcy, and Pat and Lynn, all of Bismarck; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Liberatus, Mandan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Mike, Roy and Adam; and one sister, Monica.

The family prefers memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Adolph Eisenbraun
Adolph Eisenbraun, 78, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, died Dec. 1, 1996, in the nursing home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Center, with the Rev. Glenn Berge officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Center.

Visitation will begin at the church one hour before services.

Casketbearers will be Raymond Dockter, Vincent Oestrich, Byron Faut, Ray Kautzman, Marvin Pfleger and Lyle Albers.

Adolph was born Dec. 26, 1917, at Otter Creek, the son of John and Mathilda (Faut) Eisenbraun. He was raised and educated at Center. Becoming legally blind at an early age didn't stop him from helping others and enjoying life. He worked for area farmers and business owners, and also while in Center, helped out several elderly people with household chores and errands. Adolph enjoyed music, singing and listening to German church services.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosie Oestrich, Bismarck, and Tillie Lueck, Montana; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jean, Ray and Ella Kautzman; and the Louise Pfliger family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Pete, John Jr., Emanuel and Albert; and four sisters, Mary, Emma, Christina and Magdalena. (Boelter Funeral Home)

LaDonna Luyben
LaDonna L. (Reinhardt) Luyben, 49, Sartell, Minn., formerly of Bismarck, died Nov. 30, 1996, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near St. Cloud, Minn. Services for a celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 924 N. 11th St., Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas Wright officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

LaDonna Lou Reinhardt was born to Elmer and Irene Reinhardt, Sept. 24, 1947, at Langdon. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1965 and attended Bismarck Junior College. She married Robert C. Luyben, Oct. 15, 1971, in Bismarck. She lived and worked in Bismarck until 1977 when they moved to New Ulm, Minn. In 1987 they moved to Sartell.

She was an active member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, many crafts and hobbies, collecting, fishing, picture taking and so much more. Above all, the caring for her family was first, always treasuring every detail of their lives. She was an inspiration to her family and friends, and everyone she touched through her courageous, victorious struggle with multiple sclerosis. She was a strong example to all who loved her to never give up, to live each day to the absolute fullest.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters and one son-in-law, Stacy and Matt Landry, St. Joseph's, Minn., and Kimberly Luyben, Minneapolis; her mother, Irene Reinhardt, Sterling; three sisters and four brothers-in-law, Constance Bjelland, and Sherry and Dan Wilson, all of Sterling, Yvonne and John Heaton, Driscoll, and Ron Bjelland and David Luyben, Bismarck; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron Reinhardt and his fiance, Koreen Ressler, Mandan, Gary and Kathy Reinhardt, and Todd and Raedell Reinhardt, all of Bismarck; and special family members, JoAnn and Nick Winistorfer, Pick City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emila and Fred Wentz, and Daniel and Dorothy Reinhardt; and her father, Elmer Reinhardt.

A memorial service will be held at Celebration Lutheran Church, Sartell, Minn. on Saturday.

John Schafer
CALVIN -- John Earl Schafer, 38, Calvin, died Dec. 1, 1996. Private family services will be held.

John was born June 11, 1958, in Langdon, the son of Edwin and Lois (Henderson) Schafer. He graduated from Border Central High School in Calvin in 1976. He attended Lake Region College for one year. He married Jennifer Erdelt, Nov. 27, 1995, in Torrington, Wyo. He worked construction, building bridges and grain elevators across the Midwest. John was happiest when he was fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his son, Layne; his parents, Edwin and Lois, Dickinson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Barry and Nancy, Calvin, and Brett and Janet, Washburn; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janell and William Peterson, Center, Darci and Brian Wold, Aurora, Colo., and Dara and Kevin Langerud, Watford City; and several nieces and nephews. Florence Jackson
Services for Florence A. Jackson, 54, Reeder, will be at 2 p.m. MST Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Reeder, with the Rev. Robert Boxrud officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Reeder. Florence died Nov. 30, 1996, in the Hettinger hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Walby Chapel, Hettinger, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Florence A. Jacobson was born Dec. 14, 1941, to Halfdan "Little Ole" and Helga (Winje) Jacobson, at their farm home three miles southeast of Reeder. She grew up on the farm helping with the outdoor chores and attended Reeder schools. She graduated from Reeder High School in 1959 and attended Dickinson State Teachers College where she received her standard teachers certificate in 1961. She taught rural schools for three years near New England, Scranton and Darling Springs. She then worked as a secretary at the Adams County Agents office in Hettinger until May 1965.

She was united in marriage to Larry Jackson, June 11, 1965, at Lemmon, S.D. They lived at Thunder Hawk, S.D., where he was employed at the elevator. They had two children, Daniel and Lisa. In March 1968 they moved to Reeder, where he became the manager of Reeder Grain and she became the bookkeeper. They enjoyed the task of chairpersons of the North Dakota Grain Dealers Convention in 1983. In June 1990, the company was sold to Reeder Equity and he continued as manager. Florence then served as secretary of Reeder School until June 15, 1996.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and served as a Bible school teacher, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, a member of the church council, treasurer of the church for three years and other women's organizations. She also was a member of the Reeder Singers and served as president of Carl Hendrickson Post No. 51 American Legion Auxiliary and Poppy chairwoman. She enjoyed working on the Reeder "Uff Da Day" committee and was a member of Reeder Lions Club. She was named co-queen of the Uff Da Day celebration in 1996.

She enjoyed playing games with her family, working outdoors, raising flowers, doing craft projects and sharing her many ornaments with family and friends. She loved bushy-tailed animals, especially the squirrels she fed and cats. She will be remembered for her sweet sense of humor and fun, and for being the quiet pillar of strength to her family and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Larry; one son, Daniel, Mandan; one daughter, Lisa Jackson, Kimball, S.D.; her mother, Helga Nelson, Reeder; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Grace Olien, Oakes, Lynn and Mary Ann Jackson, Lemmon, Lee and Ruby Jackson, Bismarck, and Stanley and Kathy Jackson, Sioux Falls, S.D.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Hilda, in 1959; her father, "Ole" in 1969; her grandparents; and her uncle Charlie Winje.

Emil Ochsner
TUTTLE -- Emil Ochsner, 83, Napoleon, died Nov. 30, 1996, in the Napoleon nursing home where he had been a resident since 1983. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, with the Rev. John Nordby officiating. Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at the church one hour before services.

Emil was born June 25, 1913, in Arena, the son of Henry and Katherina (Morhardt) Ochsner. He was raised and educated in the Arena area. He married Martha Sunnen in 1938 at Arena. He farmed until 1940, then moved to Streater, Ill., where he worked at various jobs, including driving truck and in the shipyards.

He is survived by one son, Ralph, Streater; one daughter, Carol, Streater; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ted and Bertha, Tuttle, and Martha Ochsner, Missoula, Mont.; one sister and brother-in-law, Albina and Lyle Donham, Winterset, Iowa. Bernard Rowe
Bernard V. Rowe, 61, Olympia, Wash., formerly of Ellendale, died of cancer, Nov. 23, 1996, in an Olympia hospital. Memorial services were Nov. 29 in Olympia.

Survivors include his wife, Joann; and one son, Greg, Lacey, Wash.

Pete Anton
BELFIELD -- Pete N. Anton, 76, Belfield, died Dec. 1, 1996, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Chance Thune
Chance Michael Thune was prematurely born to Chris and Karla (Rupprecht) Thune, Nov. 19, 1996. Chance died Nov. 26, 1996. Burial was in Silver Creek Cemetery, Thief River Falls, Minn.

He is survived by his parents, Chris and Karla; his grandparents, Roger and Beverly Rupprecht, Thief River Falls, Minn., and Gary and Betty Thune, Bismarck; and his great-grandparents, Pete and Gladys Tveito, New Rockford, Mavis Kanwischer, Harvey, and Merle Thune, Bismarck. Greg Keller
Greg Keller, 34, Lewisville, Texas, died Nov. 30, 1996, in a Farmers Branch, Texas, hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Ann Catholic Church, Coppell.

He is survived by his wife, Michele; one son, Steven, Lewisville; his parents, Wynn and Alice Keller, Mandan; one sister, Pat Wiseman, Woodland Park, Colo.; four brothers, Dave, Pleasanton, Calif., and Doug, Mike and Randy, all of Mandan; and his grandmother, Anna Keller, Mandan. Zaye Lindvig
ALEXANDER -- Zaye Lindvig, 19, Alexander, died Nov. 30, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexander Public School Auditorium, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by her parents, Wes and Barb Lindvig, Alexander; two sisters, her twin, Faye Lindvig, and Cindy Lindvig, both at home; and her grandparents, Mack Faulkner, Alexander, Mary Ellen Faulkner, Pocatello, Idaho, and Lawrence Lindvig, McKenzie County. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Earl Bauste
WILLISTON -- Earl T. Bauste, 81, Williston, died Nov. 30, 1996, in his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

He is survived by his wife, Iva; three sons, Dennis and Dean, both of Buford, and Darren, Williston; two daughters, Sandra Metker, Dallas, Texas, and Lona Hystad, Arnegard; two brothers, Wendel and Arnold, both of Wildrose; and one sister, Ina Heath, Butte. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Daniel Engelking
HANNAFORD -- Daniel Roy Engelking, 44, Hannaford, died Nov. 30, 1996, in the Cooperstown hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford. Further arrangements are pending at Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown.

Matthew 'Matt' Tschida
Matthew "Matt" James Tschida, 21, Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Bismarck, died Nov. 30, 1996, after a long battle with cancer.

Matt Tschida was born to Leo and Betty Tschida, June 4, 1975, at Mandan. He attended school at Mandan and graduated in 1993. He was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 17. He was known for his friendly disposition and was loved by all. He especially enjoyed little children and was an inspiration to his family and friends through his kindness.

He is survived by his parents, Leo and Betty Tschida, Fort Rice; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, John and Patty, Bismarck, James and Sherry, and Robert and Janice, and Tony, all of Haines City, Fla., Pete, Fort Rice, and Simon, Lake Wales, Fla.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Jean and David Capton, Plantation, Fla., Chris and Scott Levorson, Lincoln, Ann and Bob Magelky, Bismarck, and Amanda Tschida, Fort Rice; his grandmother, Ida Leingang, Mandan; his nieces, Miranda and Megan Levorson; and nephews, Caleb Tschida and Daniel Magelky.

Funeral services were Dec. 3 in Winter Haven.

In honor of friends and family in Bismarck, a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Pentecostal Church, Bismarck.

Yvonne Bailey
Yvonne Theo Bailey, 60, Phoenix, died suddenly of a brain aneurysm, Nov. 13, 1996, in a Phoenix hospital. Burial will be in Glendale, Ariz.

Yvonne was born July 27, 1936, at Wilton, the daughter of Wallace and Lillian (Holden) Anderson. She attended Ecklund Township school and Wilton High School. Yvonne married Clark Bailey II, Jan. 22, 1961. They lived on the naval base at Norfolk, Va., for many years. They later moved to Casper, Wyo., and then to Phoenix. They had two children.

Her hobbies were doing beautiful needle and embroidery work, a talent from her grandmother, Amanda Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Clark; one daughter, Charlotte Roybal, Las Vegas; one son, Clark III, Phoenix; two sisters, Betty Lenihan, Bismarck, and Marjorie Cleveland, Wilton and Tucson, Ariz.; and one brother, Bob Anderson, Wilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
