Raymond Broehl
Raymond Edmund Broehl, 76, Eugene, Ore., formerly of Regan, died March 6, 1998, in Eugene. Burial was in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore.

Raymond was born on March 23, 1921, in Wilton, to Edmund and Elsie Broehl. Raymond was raised and grew up in the Wilton and Regan area. He lived in Seattle, Wash. from 1965-1968, and prior to that he lived in the Regan area. He came to Eugene, Ore. in 1968. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the medical corps. He was self-employed as a carpenter.

He enjoyed fishing, golf and dogs.

He is survived by two brothers, Virgil, Bismarck, and Marvin, Nehalen, Ore.; and three sisters, Helen Wobbe and Leona Nelson, both of Eugene, and Delores Miller, North Bend, Wash.

Eldor Ziemann
DICKINSON -- Eldor Ziemann, 83, Dickinson, died March 11, 1998, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. (Not St. Paul's Lutheran Church as stated in Thursday's Tribune). Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hazen.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today, at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Eldor Theodore Ziemann was born Sept. 15, 1914 in Krem, to Emanuel and Martha (Rahn) Ziemann. He was raised on the family homestead north of Hazen. Eldor married Gertrude Katherine Isaak on Nov. 19, 1939 and moved to a farm north of Hazen, near the Knife River. They remained on this farm until 1947, when they moved to the family farm north of Stanton. Eldor farmed until 1976. He remained on the the farm until 1987, when they moved to Hazen, to be near medical facilities. They moved to the Evergreen Inn in Dickinson, to be near family in 1992. Eldor moved to St. Luke's Home in March of 1994, and resided there until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, Dickinson; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Dale and Bonnie, and Franklin and Sherry, all of Dickinson, Jack, Bowman, Richard and Linda, Keller, Texas, and Wilbert and Janell, Washburn; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Lorina, Hazen, and Erhardt and Lucille, Bismarck; two sisters, Erna Heimark, Bremerton, Wash., and Fredia Striefel, Jamestown; two sisters-in-law, Irene Brenno, Hazen, and Jean Silcott, Billings, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Home, Dickinson. (Seibel Funeral Homes, Hazen)

Bertha Ruff
WISHEK -- Bertha Ruff, 95, Wishek, died March 11, 1998, in the Wishek hospital. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at United Methodist Church, Lehr, with the Rev. Marty Toepke-Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Lehr City Cemetery.

Bertha was born Sept. 7, 1902 near Lehr, the daughter of Gottlieb and Katherina (Schott) Scherbenske. She grew up on the family farm north of Lehr and received her elementary education in rural Logan County schools. Bertha married Reinhold F. Ruff on March 20, 1924 at Lehr. Following their marriage, the couple farmed north of Lehr until 1933, when they moved into Lehr. R.F. and Bertha owned the local Standard Oil Bulk business and later a livestock business, which Bertha was active in. Bertha's husband, R.F., preceded her in death in 1965. Bertha then moved to Wishek, where she has made her home since that time.

Bertha was a member of the EUB Church in Lehr, and was presently an active member of Wishek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her home, being outdoors, and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Viola, Charlotte, Mich.; her daughter and son-in-law, Marlys and Steve Nickisch, Wishek; four grandchildren, Weston Ruff, Desiree Bishop, Dan Nickisch, and Bryce Nickisch; and a great granddaughter, Miranda Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Gottlieb; and four sisters, Anna, Regina, Magdalena and Lydia. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek)

Lucy Wallock
FORMAN -- Lucy Wallock, 81, Forman, died March 11, 1998, at her home. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Forman. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Bommersbach, Payette, Idaho, and Louis Bommersbach, Louisville, Ky.; six daughters, Joann Prindiville and Pat Kosbab, both of Bismarck, Beverly Walstead, Forman, Marjorie Meester, West Fargo, Ann Claudio, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Bommersbach, Fargo. Chris Geiger
Chris F. Geiger, 81, Tacoma, Wash., and formerly of Mandan, died Feb. 27, 1998, in Tacoma. Services were held on March 3, 1998, in Evergreen Chapel, Tacoma. Burial was in New Tacoma Cemetery, Tacoma.

He is survived by his wife, Alvina; two sons, Allan and Rodney, both of Tacoma; one daughter, Kim Carreau, Tacoma; two sisters, Caroline Zander and June Heinert, both of Mandan.

Alvin Rott
ANAMOOSE -- Alvin Rott, 76, rural Anamoose, died March 11, 1998, in a Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Martin Baptist Church, Martin. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery, Anamoose.

He is survived by one brother, Harold, Anamoose. (Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey)

Ellen Nelson
HALEY -- Ellen A. Nelson, 94, Haley, died March 11, 1998, in a Hettinger hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST, at Assembly of God Church, Bowman. Burial will be in Haley Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, LaVelle, Scranton; and one sister, Sue Larson, Sun City, Ariz. (Krebsbach Funeral Home, Bowman)

Francis Larson
Francis Andrew Larson, 81, 323 East Avenue B, Bismarck, died March 12, 1998, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Adeline Mueller
KULM -- Adeline Mueller, 88, Kulm, died March 11, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm.

Michael Schmidt
Michael David Schmidt, 19, 28 Riverview Heights, Mandan, died March 14, 1998, due to a pickup-train accident near Williston. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Casimir Paluck officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Weigel Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday at Weigel Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Michael was born on July 12, 1978, in Hettinger. He was the son of Jake Jr. and Susan (Kuntz) Schmidt, He attended school in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1996. He was currently attending Bismarck State College and working for Cloverdale in Mandan.

Michael was an outdoors person, he enjoyed all water sports, riding watercraft, skiing, snowmobiling, kneeboarding, snowboarding, and bowling, basketball, football, wrestling, soccer and camping. He looked forward to family vacations and get togethers. Mike was very kind and special to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and loved by all.

He is survived by his parents, Jake Jr. and Susan, Mandan; his grandmothers, Adeline McCurley, Mandan, and Clementine Schmidt, Bismarck; one sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Mike Moore, Tyler, Texas; and a special friend, Amy Rogalla, Mandan.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Jacob A. Schmidt Sr. and John P. Kuntz, and his step grandfather, Warren McCurley. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)

Carol Stover
WILLISTON -- Carol Stover, 63, Williston, died March 13, 1998, in a Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Everson Memorial Chapel, Williston. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by her husband, Mervin; one son, Dale Peden, Gillette, Wyo.; four daughters, Darleen Pierce, Green River, Wyo., Vicky Atol and Wendy Ramsey, both of Williston, and Sandy Hedlund, Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Gerri Stephens and Jackie Sanchez, both of Green River, and Peggy Carillo, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and one brother, Dick Paxton, Green River. WILLISTON -- Leland R. Routledge, 79, Williston, died March 15, 1998, in a Williston hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Union Church, Minot. Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Minot.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; two sons, Robert and Ralph, both of Williston; two daughters, Marlene Wayne and LaVonne Twite, both of Williston; three brothers, Charles, Glenburn, Merle, Lansford, and Floyd, Rochester, Minn.; and two sisters, Ruby Rhoads, Glenburn, and Vera Taylor, Bradford, Ark. Dustin Brose
WILLISTON -- Dustin James Brose, 18, Williston, died March 14, 1998, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Chris; one brother, Darin Jay, Grand Forks; his paternal grandparents, Stenn and Loretta Brose, Williston; and his maternal grandmother, Opal Bingeman, Wheelock. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

MICHIGAN -- Kelsey E. and Chelsey L. Dawson, infant twin daughters of Hope and Greg Dawson, Michigan, died March 12, 1998, in a Devils Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan.

Lydia Lennick
HEBRON -- Lydia Lennick, 94, Hebron, died March 16, 1998, in a Glen Ullin nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hebron, with the Rev. Jean E. Rosewall officiating. Burial will be in First Congregational Cemetery, Hebron.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, both at Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be said at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the church.

Lydia was born on Oct. 17, 1903, in New Leipzig, to Adam III and Wilhelmina (Finck) Imhoff. Lydia was raised and educated in Hebron. She married Jacob Lennick on Nov. 8, 1921, in Hebron. Following their marriage, they resided in Hebron, where Lydia worked as a housekeeper for several families. She devoted her time to raising their family and caring for her garden, baking and canning. Lydia entered the Marian Manor Nursing Home in July 1995, where she has resided since.

The church was an important part of her life, she taught Sunday School and Bible School, sang in the choir for 71 years, and was at one time a delegate to the German Congregational Conference held in Nebraska. She was a charter member of Guidong Light Society.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and Brick City Citizens.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Norman Imhoff, Hebron; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Albert, Clements, Minn., Wilbert and Betty, Richmond, Va., and Ted and Julie, Edina, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Lennick, Glen Ullin, and Alice Elam, Turlock, Calif.; two brothers, Otto Imhoff, Billings, Mont., and Albert Imhoff, Ellensbuerg, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Theophile; three grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law. (Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron)
