Adolf Olsen
KEENE -- Adolf Olsen, 83, Keene and Roseburg, Ore., died July 3, 2001, in the Watford City hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Clear Creek Lutheran Church, rural Keene. Further arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.

Arnold Bauer
NEW SALEM -- Arnold Bauer, 84, New Salem, died May 25, 2000 in the Glen Ullin nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Thursday, at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem. Further arrangements are pending with Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem.

Anna Bohl
RUGBY -- Anna Garman Bohl, 92, died May 25, 2000 in the Rugby care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Little Flower Church, Rugby, with the Rev. Father Rino Bargola. Burial will be in Rugby cemetery. Anna was born on May 29, 1907 in Elsas Odessa, South Russia to Mathias and Magdalena Volk Garman. She came to this country with her parents as an infant. They settled on a homestead in the Silva area where Anna grew up and attended grade and two years of high school. Anna married Andrew Bohl on Oct. 17, 1933 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta, N.D. They farmed south of Rugby and lived and raised their five children there. They moved to their home in Rugby in April 1961. Their family consists of one son, John and his wife Alice on the family farm and three daughters, Betty and Edward Axtmann, Mandan, Amy and Mike Meade, Lead, S.D., and Eleanor and James Koch, Bismarck. Anna was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her children and their families of 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A sister-in-law Mary Garman from Rugby also survives her. Her husband, Andrew, who died on Sept. 8, 1999 and a daughter, Maggie who died at the age of 10 years, preceded Anna in death.

WHITE SHIELD -- John Fox, 63, White Shield, died May 25, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Ralph Wells Memorial Complex, White Shield. Further arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Carrie Marie Gott
LAMOURE -- Carrie Marie Schiffner Gott, 81, LaMoure, died May 24, 2000 in a Lisbon care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, with burial in Grand Rapids Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Schiffner, Litchville, and Richard Schiffner, Underwood; one daughter, Dorothy Banderet, Berlin; one brother, Max Allgood, Pomona, Calif.; two sisters, Edmay Schiffner, Fargo, and Hazel Schiffner, Lisbon; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Vernon Hartman
LITCHVILLE -- Vernon Hartman, 63, Litchville, died May 26, 2000 at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at First Lutheran Church, Litchville, with the Rev. Ray Heidtke officiating. Burial will be in Litchville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church. Vernon Lyle Hartman was born Sept. 15, 1936 in Valley City, the son of Charles Hans and Olive (McClaflin) Hartman. He grew up on the family farm in rural Litchville while attending Black Loam School No. 2 near Litchville. In 1950, he moved with his family into Valley City, but they continued to farm near Litchville. He graduated from Valley City High School in 1954 and then attended North Dakota State University in Fargo. On June 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mavis Grabow in Embden. They made their home on the family farm near Litchville. Vern was the third generation to farm there. In 1977, they moved into Litchville. They retired in 1998. Vernon was a member of First Lutheran Church. He liked to hunt, especially going on elk hunting trips. He also enjoyed going to his grandchildren's activities. Mr. Hartman is survived by his wife, Mavis; one son, Chuck (Patricia), Litchville; three daughters, Tammara (Jay) Opdahl, Menoken, Tonette (David) Rahrich, Bismarck, and Stephanie (Arden) Falk, Fort Ransom; his mother, Olive Hartman, Valley City; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Jr. (Viola), Alamogordo, N.M., and Gene (Joan), Springfield, Va.; and a sister, Cheryl Mason, Kingfield, Maine. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hans Hartman; and triplet grandchildren, Allen, Ashley and Alexius Hartman.

Muriel Hartman
KILLDEER -- Muriel Hartman, 89, Killdeer, died May 24, 2000 in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killdeer. Burial will be in Grassy Butte Cemetery, Grassy Butte. She is survived by one son, Neale, Grassy Butte; two daughters, Beverly Mittelstadt, Killdeer, and Darlene Schwahn, Moses Lake, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Edna Lawhead, Killdeer. Anton Lesmeister, 84, Bismarck, died May 26, 2000 in a local hospital. Arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Robert L. McSpadden
Robert "Bob" L. McSpadden, 45, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Ypsilanti, died May 25, 2000 at home of cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Pine Ridge United Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, with burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; two children, Jesse and Chelsey, both at home; his mother, Betty McSpadden; and his sister, Pam Alton. (Mount Moriah Terrace Park, Kansas City, Mo.)

FORT YATES -- Raymond Joseph Molash, 16, Fort Yates, died May 26, 2000 at Fort Yates. Arrangements are pending with Perry Funeral Home, Mandan.

HARVEY -- Isabelle Ripplinger, 73, Harvey, died May 25, 2000 in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Further arrangements are pending with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

David Splichal
GARRISON -- David Splichal, 46, Garrison, died May 26, 2000 in the Garrison hospital. Arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Joe Thomas
DUNN CENTER -- Joe Thomas, 86, Dunn Center, died May 21, 2000 in a Valley City care center. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Sunday, at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dickinson. He is survived by five children, Raymond, Vilen, N.M., Shirley Finke, Chicago, Ill., LeRoy, Hebron, Patty Jo Thomas, Killdeer, and Joe Thomas Jr., Dickinson; one brother, George, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one sister, Marie Rider, Casper, Wyo. Alice Rebecca Zoller
Alice Rebecca "Becky" Zoller, 65, Bismarck, died May 25, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at McCabe United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Becky was born in Hawkeye, Iowa on April 30, 1935 the only child of Richard and Hazel (Klipstein) Ludemann. When Becky was two years old, the family moved to Menoken and then to Bismarck where she received her education, graduating with the class of 1953 at Bismarck High School and where she earned membership in the National Honor Society. Becky married James Zoller, son of John and Martha Zoller, all of Bismarck, on Aug. 18, 1956 at McCabe Methodist Church in Bismarck. Becky enjoyed her positions as receptionist-secretary to Governors of North Dakota including Governors Norman Brunsdale, John Davis and William Guy, after which she was employed by the N.D. Commissioner of Game and Fish Dept., Russell Stuart and after a short retirement she joined the staff of the N.D. Agricultural Dept. under Commissioner Kent Jones as assistant office manager. In later years, she was a committee clerk in the N.D. Legislative Assembly and most recently she has been a part of the staff in the N.D. Legislative Council as an Enrolling and Engrossing Assistant. Becky and Jim owned and managed Prairie Wind Dog Boarding Kennels, Midway Tavern and the Little Cottage Cafe. Becky was a member of the McCabe United Methodist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, AmVets Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. Becky was a devoted and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother in her closely knit family. In her quiet caring manner, she was always worried and concerned for the well being of all her friends and relatives. Becky is survived by her husband, Jim Zoller; one son, John and his fiance, Barb Neas; her mother, Hazel Ludemann; her cousins, Alan and Peggy Knoll, Velza Knoll Teeter, Elmer and Ella Agnew and an even dozen other cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, uncle Elmer Klipstein, aunt Alice Knoll Schmitz and other aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Home on the Range. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Richard Barth
Richard T. Barth, 70, 1832 Masterson Ave., Bismarck, died July 5, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Brad Stoltenow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church. A prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Richard was born April 19, 1931, at Crown Butte, to Matt and Monica (Yantzer) Barth. He was raised and educated in the St. Anthony area. He married Melba (Perschke) Nemec on May 28, 1953, in Bismarck. On March 16, 1972, he married Elma (Knoell) Schmidt in Bismarck. She died Dec. 23, 2000. In Richard's early years, he worked for Century Motors, Phillips 66 Bulk Plant and Fuller Brush. From 1982 to 1999 he worked for Curtis Industries before retiring in 1999. Richard worked most recently as a parts runner for Hedahl's after he "retired." Richard dearly loved all of his grandkids and spending time with them. He also enjoyed telling his stories and collecting John Deer tractors. He is survived by six daughters and five sons-in-law, Sharon and Mike Wolf, Rita and Jim Schmidt, Bonita Schmidt and Leon Bohe, Debra and Terry Hoerer, Darla and Wayne Ratzak and Candida and Tom Rhoades, all of Bismarck; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale and Tracy Barth, Dickinson, Glenn Schmidt and Gene and Cheryl Schmidt, all of Bismarck, and Gary and Lori (Gilman) Schmidt, St. Louis, Mo.; 24 special grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Bob and Gayle Barth and Dorothy Barth; and four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Wayne Fonderer, Lil Sandwick, Darlene and Bob Brandner and Agnes and Phil Wagner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma; his parents; one brother, Harold; and three infant brothers.

Jewel Eagle
FORT YATES -- Jewel A. Eagle, 35, Fort Yates, died July 5, 2001, northwest of Fort Yates. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bedes Catholic Church, Wakpala, S.D. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Two Hearts and McKenzie and McKalia Eagle; four sons, Francis Reed, Paul Two Hearts, Nation Groskruetz and Joseph Eagle; one grandson; five sisters, Margaret Eagle, Janice Two Hearts, Joyce Claymore, Carol Sanders and Kathy Vallee; and five brothers, Dwaine Eagle, Mike Faith, Rueben Murphy, Greg Doll and Anthony Eagle. WILLISTON -- Delia Hexom, 95, Williston, died July 5, 2001, in a Williston care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Everson Memorial Chapel, Williston. Further arrangements are pending.

Rick Hyke
BOWMAN -- Rick G. Hyke, 47, Bowman, died July 5, 2001, in a Bowman care center after a battle with multiple sclerosis. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Bowman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Ethel Hyke, Bowman; two sisters, Lynda Tollefsrud and Sandy Rohde, both of Gillette, Wyo.; and two brothers, Lynn, Little Rock, Ark., and Kelly, Beulah. Francois Ingalls
NEW SALEM -- Francois L. Ingalls, 81, rural New Salem, died July 5, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Monday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and will continue Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Francois Lock was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Williston, the daughter of Frank and Fee (Tillotson) Lock. She was raised and educated in Williston. Francois married Elgy Ingalls on Dec. 2, 1941, at Wibaux, Mont. Francois was a housewife and worked with her husband on the family ranch. Francois's husband died in 1976, and she continued to live on the family ranch. She is survived by her son, Lee, New Salem; her grandsons, Tom and Matt Ingalls, both of New Salem; and one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Art and Marion Kutzmann, New Salem, and Rene Lock, Billings, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Frank and Don.

Raymond Kinman
Raymond C. Kinman, 69, Bismarck, died June 23, 2001, in a local care center. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Sherry Kuntz
ENDERLIN -- Sherry Kuntz, 25, Enderlin, died July 4, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. David Swonger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church. Sherry was born Aug. 27, 1975, in Bismarck, to Ted and Berneice (Sutheimer) Olheiser of Bismarck. She was raised in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1994. Sherry worked at Amvets, N.D. Game and Fish and at Sta-Mart. She was confirmed at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in 1991. Sherry met Craig Kuntz in 1995 and they were married June 21, 1997. The couple had one son, Brandin, and moved to Lisbon in 1998. Sherry became ill with Hodgkin's Disease in 1998 and in the process underwent a bone marrow transplant, a lymph-cell transplant and countless stays at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Sherry blessed many lives with her positive attitude, good sense of humor and giving nature. Her hobbies included needlework, craftwork, collecting angels and being involved in various church activities in Lisbon. She is survived by her husband, Craig; her son, Brandin; her parents, Ted and Berneice Olheiser, Bismarck; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Sonja Olheiser, Bismarck, Kevin and Rhonda Olheiser, Limestone, Maine, and Bryan and Cheryl Olheiser, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three nephews, Jordan, Scylor and Addison; one neice, Amanda; and her special friends, Kay Foss, Lisbon, and Melissa Erickson-Carpenter, Cavalier. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Lillie Sutheimer and John and Jessie Olheiser; and one nephew, Austin Olheiser.
