WAHOO -- Anna Pacula, 80, of Wahoo, formerly of Weston, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

LaVonne Ahrens
LaVonne C. Ahrens, 76, of Omaha died Thursday, June 17, 2004, in Omaha.
Arrangements are pending at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak & Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha, 7805 W. Center Road.

Leola Strunk
The funeral for Leola B. Strunk, 82, of Fremont, is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
She died Friday, March 1, 2002, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Leola Buettner was born April 12, 1919, in Elm Creek. She grew up in Elm Creek. She moved to Schuyler, living there for 10 years. She married Harold Strunk on Nov. 25, 1939, in Schuyler. She moved to Fremont in 1945. She worked at the former Ideal Laundry in Fremont and the former Campbell's Soup Company in Fremont for 10 years. Her spouse died Oct. 16, 1989. She moved to A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont in 1995.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include: a son, Charles (and wife, Christy) Strunk of Fremont; two daughters, Lois (Mrs. Ed) Buchta and Carolyn Carlson, all of Fremont; eight grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Roland Peschel will officiate Monday's service. Burial is in Memorial cemetery in Fremont. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

Dale Echtenkamp
The funeral for Dale E. Echtenkamp, 73, of Fremont, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church at Fremont.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Merrick Manor.
Dale was born July 23, 1929, in Arlington. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Arlington. He was a 1947 graduate of Fremont Senior High. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a sergeant from 1951 and until he was discharged in 1953. He worked at Hormel from 1948 as a meat cutter until he retired in 1993.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the Board of Elders, Board of Properties and Board of Education. He also served on many of the boards of Fremont First Central Federal Credit Union and was a member of Fremont Hormel Retirees. He was an active member of Lutheran Layman's League.
He married Mary Lou Hellbusch Aug. 29, 1954 at Fremont.
Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Carol (Mrs. Mark) Hammont of Canton, Ga., and Kay (Mrs. John) Odle of Fremont; a son, Brian (and wife, Diane) Echtenkamp of Arvada, Colo.; three brothers, Alan Echtenkamp of Hilton Head, S.C., Lyle (and wife, Marilyn) Echtenkamp of Humbolt, Tenn., and Harlan (and wife, Wilma) Echtenkamp of Weston, Conn.; a sister, Violet Kuhl of Fremont; a sister-in-law, Lucille Echtenkamp of Fremont; and seven grandchildren, Samantha and Bradley Echtenkamp, Jonathan, Matthew and Christopher Hammont, Jennifer and John D. Odle.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
The Revs. Phillip Vance and Tracy Nelson and Vicar Mike Meyer will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rozanek and Son Colonial Chapel at Fremont, with family receiving friends from noon to 3 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery.
Memorials have been established at Trinity School Building Fund and The Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Peter Hansen
Peter A. Hansen, 75, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died of a blood clot in the lung Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was born May 17, 1929, in Toenning, Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1953. When he arrived in America, he moved to Nebraska, and quickly began working as a mechanic. He later worked for Hormel Foods Corp. in Fremont, and the Man Company of Germany, while owning and maintaining numerous residential rental properties. He also served several years overseas with the Peace Corps in Africa.
He moved from Fremont to the Punta Gorda area in 1996. He was of the Lutheran faith. His love of bicycling daily, earned him recognition as the "Big Biker" to those who knew him.
Hansen is survived by his beloved wife, Margarete M. Hansen of Punta Gorda; one sister, Elke (Mrs. Donald) Dickmeyer of Omaha; one stepdaughter, Angelika List of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one stepson, Michael (and wife, Kathy) Wantulla of Houston; one stepgranddaughter, Annatasha List; one niece, Kristina Smith of Denver; two nephews, Michael Dickmeyer of Overland Park, Kan., now serving in Iraq, and Gerry Betkie of Norfolk, Va.
A funeral was held in the Port Charlotte chapel of Roberson Funeral Home in Punta Gorda with the Rev. Bob Carlson officiating.
His body was cremated. His ashes will be spread over the Atlantic Ocean. A private family committal will be held at a later date.

Doris Konz
MINDEN, Iowa -- Doris M. Konz, 76, of Minden died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Ambassador Nursing Home in Omaha.
Doris Rhoten was born May 13, 1930, in Monona County, Iowa. She graduated from Logan Magnolia High School. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Neola, Iowa, and a member of Eastern Star 25 in Council Bluffs.
Her first marriage was to Robert Holman. He preceded her in death. She later married Ervin Konz of Minden.
Survivors include: her husband; a son, Michael (and wife, Phyllis) Holman of Fremont; two daughters, Nancy (Mrs. Jerry) DeAinza of Irvine, Calif., and Jeannie Holman of Carter Lake, Iowa; two step-daughters, Marcia (Mrs. Chuck) Dusing and Elaine (Mrs. Gilbert) Campbell, all of Council Bluffs; two step-sons, Donald (and wife, Sue) Konz of Bennington and Kenneth (and wife, Kathy) Konz of St. Joseph, Mo.; five sisters, Sarah Fitzgerald, Agnes (Mrs. Robert) Harris, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Donna (Mrs. Marvin) Levell of Carter Lake, Betty (Mrs. Jim) Ball of Fort Calhoun and Mary Jane (Mrs. John) Keeven of Cassville, Mo.; five brothers, James (and wife, Val) Rhoten of Vassuar, Mich., Thomas (and wife, Bev) Rhoten of Capalosis Crossing, Wash., Lyle (and wife, Ellen) Rhoten of Omaha, Rex (and wife, Janet) Rhoten and Paul (and wife, Shelley) Rhoten, both of Magnolia, Iowa; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church in Neola with the Rev. Richard Gubbels officiating. An Easter Star service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Visitation will follow the wake service until 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Diane Leimer
PENDER -- The funeral for Diane Leimer, 43, of Beemer will be 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Beemer.
She died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the Pender Community Hospital.
Diane Guyott was born Aug. 28, 1958, at Omaha. She attended Ralston Public School and graduated from Ralston High School in 1976. She was employed at Mutual of Omaha and other businesses before moving to rural Beemer in 1989. Since then she had been employed at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home at Beemer and IBP, the Pizza Ranch and McDonald's, all at West Point. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Bancroft.
She married Arden Leimer May 7, 1977, at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha.
Survivors include: her husband; two daughters, Jennifer and Gayle Leimer, both of Beemer; a brother, Glenn Guyott of Lino Lakes, Minn.; four sisters, Lorraine Quinn of Elkhorn, Mary Gamerl of Omaha, Linda Palmerton of Omaha and Gayle Workman of Waterloo; a mother-in-law, Clara Leimer of Beemer; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
The Rev. Terry Daberkow will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Zion cemetery.

Verne Daniel
The memorial service for Verne E. Daniel, 78, of North Platte will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Platte.
He died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Fremont. He graduated from Fremont High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1942. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II for four years, where he was awarded a bronze star and a purple heart. He married JoAnn Traum in 1949. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from the school of pharmacy. He recently received a certificate from the University of Nebraska for recognition for practicing pharmacy for 50 years. He worked with his father and later operated Daniel Drug in Fremont until 1973. He moved to North Platte in 1973, where he worked for various pharmacies in North Platte and the surrounding area. He married Dona Freeman in 1974 in Fremont.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge 985 and the P.R. Halligan Post 163 of the American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Sue (Mrs. Dan) Anderson of Lincoln and Amy (Mrs. John) Fedde of Fremont; a son, Scott (and wife, Kathy) Daniel of Omaha; two stepdaughters, Cyndi (Mrs. Rick) Rohrs of Lincoln and Diane (Mrs. Ken) Vergith of Lincoln; a stepson, Jeff (and wife, Letti) Freeman of Omaha; a sister, Nancy (Mrs. Bob) Wennstedt of Fremont; his stepmother-in-law, Dorothy Clausen of Fremont; a brother-in-law, C.E. Clausen of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother-in-law.
The Rev. Nathan Wadewitz will officiate Thursdays service. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Burial of the cremains will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont at a later date. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so until 5 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.
Memorials have been established to the church and the Lincoln Connection.

Hazel Hevner
Hazel F. Hevner, 97, of Fremont died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Arrangements are pending at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Fremont.

Gerald Jacobsen
Gerald L. Jacobsen, 74 of Hooper died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home in Omaha.
He was born June 12, 1928, and spent most of his early life in Omaha. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950, and spent two years in Korea, first as a mail clerk, and second as a forward observer. He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, married , drove the Douglas County Bookmobile for several years, and started his own construction company. He built two houses in Omaha and one in Lacombe, La., and remodeled more than 50 houses. In the 1970s, he and his wife Shirley spent winters working in Corpus Christi, Texas, and traveled to Canada and Mexico. He entered Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home on June 5, 2002.
Besides construction, he was a distinguished member of the Democratic National Committee, a promoter of a cleaner environment, a founder/member of the Clinton Presidential Library and a supporter of the Carter Center. He was invited to the Round Table in Washington D.C. in the 90s. He received many accolades and awards for his involvement in world events, and received an honorary doctorate degree from Ogallala Lakota College in South Dakota. During the past several years, he had given to more than 25 charities. During the summer of 2001, he accompanied his wife to Cambridge, England, to the International Congress on Arts and Communications, where they introduced their environmental interest to delegates from 45 countries.
Survivors include: his wife, and her two sons, David A. (and wife, Pat) Archer of Belton, Mo., and John T. (and wife, Kim) Archer of Kimberling City, Mo.; his two sons, Mark (and wife, Sherry) Jacobsen of Glenwood, Iowa, and Steven (and wife, Denise) Jacobsen of Tabor, Iowa; a brother, Ken (and wife, Joyce) Jacobsen of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Moreen Jacobsen of Durham, N.C.; his mother-in-law, Edith Nancy Lyght Rich of Lyons; and four brothers, Mina Farber of Lyons, Loyd (and wife, Margaret) Orr of Bellevue, George (and wife, Lorena) Halte of Fresno, Calif., and LeRoy (and wife, Sue) Rich of Bonner Springs, Kan.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Piper Funeral Home in Lyons with the Rev. Gene Hinrichsen of the New Life Assembly of God in Lyons officiating. Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons cemetery with military rites performed by the Robert Klase Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7998 of Lyons and the Harvey Lenig American Legion Post 83, also of Lyons.
