Graduated, Hamburg High School. Attended, University of Nebraska and University of Iowa. Married, 6/16/57. Nurseryman in family business founded by father, Inter-State Nurseries of Hamburg; served many years on board of directors of Hawkeye Bancorporation of Des Moines; manager, Sjulin Farms of Shenandoah; president and CEO, West Gate Bank, Lincoln. Committed to many organizations including: First United Methodist Church of Shenandoah; Shenandoah Hospital board of directors; Lincoln Community Playhouse board of directors; Nebraska Arts Council; Nebraska Bankers Association. Member, past performer, Southwest Iowa Theatre Group; and the Elks. Music, theater, gardening, reading and travel were his passions. Most recently, served on committee in Shenandoah to establish communitywide child-care center to meet needs of area children.

Dworak -- Gail, 74, Ord, died Wednesday (11/07/2001). Born, near Ansley (5/19/27) to Robert and Hazel (Norman) Hall. Family moved to Ord, where she was reared and attended school. Graduated, Ord High School, 1945. Taught rural school in Valley County. Married, George J. Dworak, 6/21/46, at Marysville, Kan. They lived in Ord, where they operated Ord Bowling Alley and owned/operated Ord Hotel. In 1964 moved to Lincoln, where she worked in advertising at J.C. Penneys. They also spent time in Ord and Sherman Lake. After her husband's death, 8/9/86, returned to Ord, April 1987. Member, Ord Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Nebraska Democratic Central Committee, Valley County Democrats. Enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, camping, gardening, Husker football and was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Cubs and Braves.
Survivors: sons, daughters-in-law, Tom and Marlys, Ord, Dick and Terri, Lincoln; daughter, son-in-law, Kathy and Darrell Dickman, Maxwell; six grandchildren; sisters, Norma Rich, LeRoy, Minn., Carol Simpson, Ord. Preceded in death by husband; parents.
