Lamont Schwartz, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at St. George, Utah.
He was born near Chapman on April 22, 1914. He had been a resident of Nebraska and California, before retiring to St. George.
He is survived by his second wife, Luella, and one brother, Dillard (Erma) Schwartz of York and nephew Cleon (Audrey) Schwartz of Fairmont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, at Spillsbury and Beard Mortuary at St. George, Utah.
Ella Rhodes
Utica resident, 86
Ella C. Rhodes, 86, of Utica died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in Utica.
She was born July 1, 1914, near Waco.
She was retired from employment at Russell Stover Candy and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Rhodes; three sons, Donald Rhodes of Seward, Roger (Jo) Rhodes of Seward and Dick (Marge) Rhodes of Utica; two daughters, Joyce Schriner of Lincoln and Janet (Jim) Bergantzel of Seward; two sisters, Stella Hoffschneider of Omaha and Gladys (Elmer) Naber-Straube of York; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hulda (Blum) Burhoop, and brother, Elmer Burhoop.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, at St. John Lutheran Church (South) in Waco with the Rev. Robert Gadeken officiating. The church is handicapped accessible. Burial will be in the St. John Church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 2, from 1 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour before services at the church. The family will meet relatives and friends on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Volzke Mortuary. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to the St. Paul building fund.
Eva Mason
York resident, 86
Eva C. Mason, 86, of York died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in York.
She was born May 21, 1914, in York County to John and Nellie M. (Kelly) Green.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York, a member of CDL and the Mother Singers. She was formerly employed at Grand Central Super Value in York and at the First National Bank. On Oct. 10, 1931, she was married
to Floyd Mason at Belleville, Kan.
She is survived by one son, Floyd (Jacqueline) Mason Jr. of Columbus; one daughter, Joyce (Don) Maronde of York; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Schoch of San Diego, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Bernice) Mason of York; two sisters-in-law, Ardith Luth of York and Mildred Green of Lincoln; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York with the Rev. Leo Seiker officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in York. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan.3, at Metz Mortuary. Visitation begins after 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Metz Mortuary in York.

Floyd Bittinger, 102, of Bradshaw, died today (Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002) near Bradshaw. Services are pending at Metz Mortuary in York.
Willard Lee Graham
Duncan resident, 72
Willard Lee Graham, 72, of Duncan, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001.
He was the son of Marion Wm. and Clara E. (Thelander) Graham. He was born at home on Sept. 30, 1929, in York. He attended York City Schools, graduating from York High School in 1947. On June 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Jane D. Wendell at her home in York. This union was blessed with a daughter, Shelley S., and son, Mark A. Graham.
He worked for the Burlington Railroad. He was in the Army during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953. Upon his return from the service, he became a printer with the T. C. Lord Co., Gillen Inc. and North Printing Co. in York. On June 1, 1970, he joined the printing department of Nebraska Public Power district office at Columbus. He later became the printing foreman until his retirement in 1987.
He and his wife, Jane, then moved to Duncan Lake, Duncan, Neb., to spend their retirement years. He was a member of the York Legion Bolton Post #19, the Columbus Methodist Church, and has been an active member of the Duncan Lake Community Association. His hobby of carpentry and helping friends with their projects brought him great joy.
He leaves to mourn his passing -- his wife, Jane; daughter, Shelley of Lincoln; son, Mark and wife Gail Graham of Omaha; grandsons, Eric Graham, U.S. Navy submarine service stationed Bangar Naval Base at Silverdale, Wash., and Nicholas Graham, senior at Bryan High School in Omaha; step-granddaughters, Denise and Paul Joseph Bragg of Omaha, Cheryl and Jeremy Myers and baby Chad of Bellevue, Laura and Waylon Vajgrt and baby Aidia of Omaha; brothers, Roger Graham and Robert and Dee Graham of York; two aunts, Edith Hogue of King City, Calif., and Thresia Crabtree of Grand Island; nieces, nephews and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Graham, Marie Graham-Durham and Oscar and Ida Thelander; his father, Marion in 1965; and mother Clara in 1990.
The family will receive visitors from 4:30 to 7 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 4, at McKnown Funeral Home in Columbus. There will be cremation. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Metz Chapel at York with private family graveside burial at Greenwood cemetery in York.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Hospice Care of Nebraska.

Max E. Taylor, 83, of Geneva, formerly of York, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Lincoln. Services are pending at Metz Mortuary of York.
Dorothy Hedrick
Lincoln resident, 84
Dorothy A. Hedrick, 84, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002.
She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in York to Harry and Julia (Monson) Yost. She was married
to Dale E. Hedrick on June 21, 1940. They were married
61 years. She attended York Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank and Bob Stephens and Associates.
She was a member of Southview Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of CWF, and was Deaconess Emeritus. She was a longtime member of the TOPS organization, worked as a den mother, was the mother of three Eagle Scouts and grandmother of one.
She is survived by her husband, Dale E.; daughter, Connie (Joe) Swenson of Lincoln; sons, James D., Robert H. (Sue), and Michael J., all of Lincoln; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Leta (John) Deprez of York; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at Southview Christian Church with the Revs. Joe and Ellen Culpepper and the Rev. Larry Cripe officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, and 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday, with the family receiving friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., all at Metcalf Funeral Home, and Monday an hour before services at the church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Waco cemetery in Waco.
Memorials are suggested to the church.

Ellen Anderson
Stromsburg resident, 92
Ellen E. Anderson, 92, of Stromsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Ellen was born Dec. 1, 1909 at Rosedale, Neb., to Charles and Ellen (Peterson) Landholm. She attended Rosedale Elementary and graduated from Bristow High School in 1929. After high school, she resided at Bristow where she took care of her invalid mother.
On March 22, 1944, she married
Carl Anderson at Bristow. To this union one daughter was born. The couple lived near Bristow where they farmed until 1973. They retired to Ceresco, where they stayed until 1992 when they moved to the Park Villa apartments in Stromsburg.
She was active in the Rosedale Covenant Church. She taught Sunday school, was Sunday school superintendent, was president of the Covenant Women, was a choir member from high school on and was also a deacon in the church. While living in Ceresco, Ellen was active in the senior center and at the Covenant Church. When the couple moved to Stromsburg, Ellen became active in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Griffith of Riverside, Calif.; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who passed away Dec. 18, 1997; seven brothers and five sisters.
Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 6 from 1-3 pm. at the church. Interment will be Monday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. at Sunrise cemetery near Wahoo.

Evelyn Rayer
Grand Island resident, 82
Evelyn I. Rayer, 82, 1522 W. North Front St., Grand Island, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at the Skilled Care Unit of St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
She was born Feb. 19, 1918, at Lushton to Walter and Gladys (Gibbins) Mart. She received her education at Lushton and worked with her family until her marriage to Clarence Rayer on April 17, 1937, at York. The couple farmed near York until 1944 when they moved to Grand Island.
She had worked for Williams Nursing Home in Grand Island and the Stolley Bakery. She attended the Grand Generation Center.
Survivors include a son, Francis Rayer of Grand Island; a daughter, Donna Anderson of Grand island; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Mart of Fresno, Calif., and Forest Mart of York; and a sister, Eunice Wittmore of York.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995 and a brother, Lloyd.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, in the chapel of the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m., Tuesday, until service time. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Craig Alan Tracy
Florida resident, 53
Craig Alan Tracy, 53, of Winter Park, Fla., died Jan. 4, 2002.
He was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Lincoln to Herbert and Delores Tracy. He graduated from York High School in 1966. He joined the Navy after graduation, serving in the Sub Corps until 1969.
He married
Lynette Porter in Kearney in October of 1970 and moved to York to work with his father in the sheet metal business.
In 1979, he moved to Winter Park, Fla., and worked for Disney World for 10 years and then for Universal Studios Park until the time of his death.
Survivors include his parents of York; children, Tira (Jeff) Poole, of Oviedo, Fla., and Judd (Beth) Tracy of Winter Park, Fla.; brothers, Mike (Jan) Tracy of Houston, Texas, and Bruce (Margaret) Tracy of York; six grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Jan) Tracy of Houston, Texas, Bruce (Margaret) Tracy of York; sister, Jodee (Steve) Just of Funk, Neb.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First United Methodist Church in York at 11 a.m. No graveside services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Blue Valley Community Action or the charity of the donor's choice.
Natale Julianelle
York resident, 100
Natale Joseph Julianelle, 100, of York, formerly of New Haven, Conn., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, in York.
He was born Oct. 31, 1901, in New Haven to Raffaele and Filamena (DeFonza) Julianelle. He was a business manager for labor unions until he retired. His wife, Rose, died in 1988.
Survivors include four sons, Joseph (Brenda) Julianelle of Arlington, Va., Michael (Pamela) Ramsing Julianelle of San Francisco, Calif., Ralph Julianelle of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Ronald (Lynn) Julianelle of York; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, a granddaughter and five brothers.
Funeral services and burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, in New Haven. Metz Mortuary in York was in charge of local arrangements.
