Henry S. Haskins
Henry S. Haskins, the son of Charles and Mary Ellen Haskins, was born August 26, 1878, at Rock Bluffs, Nebraska. He passed away March 31, 1963, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and five days.
He spent his childhood in Kansas and then moved with his grandparents to the Curtis community. Later, he lived both at Hershey and North Platte.
He was united in marriage to Katherine Smith and to this union were born four children. Preceding him in death were his wife, Katherine in 1921; his sons, Thoron, in 1959 and Carol, in 1960; his parents and a second wife, Elma Tanner Haskins.
In 1929, he moved to the Farnam community residing on a farm southwest of town for a few years. In November 1944, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Clara Stebbins.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; two daughters, Mrs. Garnet Brannan and Mrs. Hilda Beisner, and by daughters-in-law, Mrs. Fern Haskins, and Mrs. Elinore Haskins, all of North Platte; by eight grandchildren and by eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 1963, in the Farnam Methodist Church with Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery. McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Ida Hathway
Ida May Hathaway, daughter of George W. and Mary O. Hathaway, was born July 30, 1895, south of Farnam. She passed away Nov. 28, 1964, in the Gothenburg hospital. Miss Hathaway had been a life long resident of Farnam. She had been bed fast the past few years.
She was proceded in death by one sister, Grace Cross and two brothers, John O. and Alvin L. Hathaway. She leaves to mourn one sister, Mable Hathaway, two sisters-in law, three nephews and one niece, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Church of the Nazarene in Farnam. Rev. Ronald Nelsen officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Elvin Peirsol, Mrs. Mildred Adkisson and Mrs. Raymond Smith.
Pallbearers were: Harold Adkisson, Merle Frazier, Elden Thompson, Jake Ernst, Russell Wilcox and Elwood Brown. Interment in the Farnam cemetery.
Samuel Ervin Hathaway
Samuel Ervin Hathaway was born in Davis County, Iowa, May 9, 1859, and departed from this life September 7, 1921 at the age of 62 years, three months and 28 days.
While he was quite young, his parents moved to Missouri, where he grew to manhood.
On September 12, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Viola Mincks of Seymour, Iowa. To this union was born one child, a daughter.
He moved to Frontier County, Nebraska in 1888 and lived in Frontier County until 1918, when he moved to Farnam, Nebraska.
He had been a patient sufferer for over five years before his death.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one daughter, Eva; two brothers -- John, of Loveland, Colorado, and George, of Farnam -- and one sister, Mrs. Lee Hibbs of Bethany, Nebraska, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon, September 8, conducted by the Rev. T. E. Cillet, pastor of the Methodist church.
Interment in Farnam cemetery.

Andrew F. Hazen
Andrew F. Hazen, 62, a life time resident of the Farnam community passed away March 1, 1965, at the Gothenburg Memorial hospital after a long illness. He was born on April 15, 1901 to James and Lydia Hazen of Farnam. He was a member of the St. Matthews Episcopal church.
He was married
to Evelyn Smallfoot of Farnam on March 21, 1929, to which were born two sons.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn: two sons, Virgil of Arlington, Texas, and John of Farnam; two daughters-in-law, Jancie and children of Arlington, Texas, and Donna of Farnam; one brother, Murlin of Farnam; two sistsers, Mrs. Elsie Roberts of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. Velma Mousel of Cambridge, Nebraska.
Services were held Thursdsay at 2:00 p.m. at the McVay-Olesen Funeral Chapel in Gothenburg with the Rev. Father Donald J. West of McCook officiating. Pallbearers were: Harold Adkisson, Ralph Clement, Paul Rogers, Lynn Messersmith and Loyd Hopkins. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.
Clifford Matthew Heath
Clifford Matthew Heath, son of Eli and Clara Heath, was born on August 16, 1888, in Jones county, Iowa, and passed away at his home at Ingham, Nebr., May 8, 1948, at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 22 days. When he was one year of age he came with his parents to Moorefield and his entire life has been spent in and around Ingham.
He was united in marriage to Myra Caster September 19, 1918. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters: Francis of Maryville, Mo., Dorothy Hatch of Stoneham, Colorado, Evelyn Donner of Moorefield, Clifford Junior and Stanley at home.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, five children, 7 grandchildren, one sister, Ida Harder of Newton, Iowa; two brothers, Sam and Roy of Farnam, and other relatives and a host of friends. His father and mother, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
For a number of years Mr. Heath has not been privileged to enjoy the best of health, but his death came suddenly and was a shock to all who knew him.
He was a kind father and a loving husband and will be greatly missed by them and the community. He will be remembered as one who was always willing to assist when help was needed.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Olesen Funeral Home to the Farnam Baptist church and were conducted by Rev. Stanley Malmgren and Rev. Fern McCaig.
Interment in Farnam cemetery.
Clara Hicks
Clara Irwin Hicks was born October 23, 1883, at Winfield, Iowa. In 1909 she moved to Farnam to teach in the public school. On October 5, 1910 she was united in marriage to Joseph L. Hicks.
To this union two children were born: Mildred Edson of North Platte, Nebraska and Gerald Hicks of Kennewick, Washington.
Clara joined the Methodist Church as a girl of about 12 years of age and this last spring she received her 50 year membership pin. She leaves to her family and community a life of active participation in her church.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Joseph and a brother, Glen Irwin. Surviving her passing are her two children; five grandchildren; one great-grand child; three sisters, Lulu Barclay of Ottumwa, Iowa, Nellie Smith of Greeley, Colo., Myrtle Cole of Pasadina, Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Quincy A. Murphree officiating.
Gus Gaudreault
Gustave Isaie Gaudreault was born December 18, 1889, at Saint-Ignace de Stanbridge, Canada, the son of Antone Gaudreau and Emma Cloatre Gaudreau. He came to the United States as a young man living near Campbell and Culbertson, Nebraska, before coming to the Farnam community.
He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Crampton of Farnam on March 7, 1916, in Curtis. To this union was born two sons, Charles and Marcus. The family has always lived and farmed in the Farnam community. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Marcus Del, in 1959 and his wife, Mary, in 1960.
Gus spent his last 5 years in the Sunset Haven Rest Home in Curtis where he passed away on March 11, 1976, at the age of 86 years.
He is survived by two sons, Charles of Gothenburg, Marcus of Farnam, one grandson, Don Laverne of Farnam, two great grand children, two brothers, two sisters, five step daughters, Mrs. Sue Fiess, Mrs. Lois Herring, Mrs. Kathleen Stack, Mrs. Mozelle Elmore and Mrs. Zelma Gaudreault, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Farnam United Methodist Church on Monday, March 15, 1976, at 2 p.m. with the Pastor, the Rev. Leonard S. Clark officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs, Evelyn Davis at the piano, and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar and Mrs. Deloras Bunstock who brought vocal music. Pallbearers included Vernon Brouillette, Gilbert Hess, Clyde Kotschwar, Leon Kotschwar, John Schurr and Orville Widick.
Interment was in the Farnam cemetery. Wetzel Funeral Home of Curtis was in charge of the arrangements.
Leah (Price) Gaudreault
Leah Gaudreault, 75, of Gothenburg, died August 7, 1996.
She was born March 25, 1921, at Orafino to Alvin and Nancy Pressler Price. She graduated from Farnam High School. She married
Charles Alfred Gaudreault on June 15, 1940, at North Platte. She worked for Peterson Locker Plant for many years. For the last few years before retire- ment, she worked for Monroe Auto Equipment Co.
She was a member for many years of the local Rock Club and enjoyed archeaological digging.
Survivors include her husband of Gothenburg; two sisters, Nora Coffman of Hammond, Indiana, and Treva Trimble of Griffith, Indiana and a sister-in-law, Adrian Price of Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marcus Del; and two brothers, T.D. and Ethridge.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 1996, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Cozad with the Rev. Ray Grieb officiating. Burial of cremains was in the Farnam cemetery.

Marcus Del Gaudreault
Marcus Del Gaudreault was born July 31, 1944, at Lexington, Nebraska, and passed away at a Twin Falls, Idaho, hospital August 17, 1959. He was fatally injured on August 15th near Castleford, Idaho, when he fell 65 feet and landed on his head and shoulder. He died two days later at Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls.
He is survived by his parents, Charles & Leah Gaudreault of Gothenburg; his paternal grandparents, Gus & Mary Gaudreault of Farnam and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the McVay Chapel Friday, August 21, 11:00 a.m., with Mr. Dean Kilburn officiating. Pallbearers were Terry McNeal, Devy Pickering, Rex Guerin, Gordon Buesing, Bob Palmer and Larry Giboney. Final resting place was in the Farnam cemetery.
Mary Gaudreault
Mrs. Mary Gaudreault passed away Aug. 27, 1960, after entering a North Platte hospital on Wednesday. Mrs. Gaudreault had not been in the best health of late, but her death was a sudden shock to her relatives and friends.
Mary was 66 years of age (born Oct. 25, 1893) and had lived her entire life in the Farnam community.
She is survived by her husband, Gus, and two sons Marcus of Curtis and Charles of Gothenburg, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Farnam at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Robert Hall officiated. Pallbearers were: Max McNickle, Aimie Guerin, Henry Gewecke, Ralph Clement, Ivan Brock and Morris Wyckoff. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery. McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Fay Gewecke
Fay Alice Reikia Gewecke, the daughter of Adolph H. and Anna L. Gewecke, was born at Bruning, Nebraska, on Janaury 26, 1906. After a lingering illness whe departd this life July 3, 1968, at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 7 days.
In early childhood she moved with her parents to Farnam, Nebraska, where she lived until four years ago when she moved to Arthur, Nebraska. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene at Farnam, which she joined early in life.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one sister, Rev. Mrs. Oliver (Verneeda) Brown of Arthur, Nebraska; two brothers, Edgar of Gothenburg, Nebraska, and Kenneth of Ogallala, Nebraska, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services were Saturday, July 6, l968, at the Church of the Nazarene at Farnam with Rev. James Staley officiating. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.
