Lolita K. Borchers, 84, of 10220 N. Aspen Ave., Hastings, Nebraska, died Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Tuesday, January 9, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Prosser, Nebraska.

Lolita K. Borchers was born icon August 5, 1916 in Prosser, Nebraska to John Frederick & Anna Augusta (Augustin) Uden. She was baptized on August 15, 1916 at Christ Lutheran Church. She attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran School and was confirmed May 11, 1930 in Christ Lutheran Church. She married Elmer Ernest Borchers on September 28, 1951. She was a homemaker and care giver. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a life long area resident.

Lolita K. Borchers was preceded in death by parents, brothers, Robert, Arnold and Lewis Uden.

Survivors include,

Keith L. Moul

Keith L. Moul, 68, of 1223 Pershing Rd., died Friday, January 5, 2001 at his home.

Memorial services will be Friday, January 12, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathleen Kasper officiating. No viewing or visitation.

Keith L. Moul was born icon March 17, 1932 in Fillmore County, Nebraska to Walter C. & Velma (Baker) Moul. He attended a rural school, then Fairmont Public Schools and graduated in 1949. In 1953, he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy. He served two years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. He began working as a pharmacist at the Hastings Drug Company in 1955 and married Roma Jean Holst on March 17, 1957. He worked as a community pharmacist his entire career, which included owning and operating Keith's Drive-In Drug and Keith's Medical Park Pharmacy from 1979-1992. He retired in 1999. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council and the Foundation Board. He was a member of the Nebraska Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Retail Druggists, as well as a charter member of Hastings Sertoma.

Keith L. Moul was preceded in death by his parents.

Elsie M. Carroll

Elsie M. Carroll, 74, of Goldbeck Towers #103, died Sunday, January 7, 2001 at her home.

Memorial service will be Thursday, January 11, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel Father Larry Gyhra officiating. There will be no burial service because of cremation.

Elsie M. Carroll was born icon August 17, 1926 in Hastings, Nebraska to George B. Sr. & Mabel Zoa (Overfield) Montey. Her formal education was in the Hastings Public Schools. She married Robert C. Carroll in Independence, Kansas on April 11, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1981. To this union was born icon two daughters, Barbara and Roberta. Her married life was spent in Hastings. Her work outside the home consisted of housekeeping duties and café work. She was a life long Hastings resident.

Elsie M. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert.

A. Maybelle Sommer, 82, of Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Haven Home.

Private family service and interment at a later date.

A. Maybelle Sommer was born icon August 19, 1918 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Joe & Flora (Johnston) Russell. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1939. She lived in El Reno, Oklahoma until 1972 when she moved to California. In 1994, she moved to Hastings, Nebraska.

A. Maybelle Sommer was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include,

Christine M. Mendenhall, 91, of Harvard Rest Haven, died Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, January 15, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Tim Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.

Christine Mendenhall was born icon March 23, 1909 in Adams County, Nebraska to Fred C. & Gebka (Hinrichs) Ocker. She was baptized April 11, 1909 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed on May 1, 1917 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. Pohlman. She grew up in rural Adams County west of Glenvil and attended country school District #71. She married Walter F. Classen on April 16, 1933. On June 11, 1948, she married Karl Mendenhall in Central City, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1968. They moved to Grand Island, Nebraska where she was an aide at the Soldiers & Sailors Home (Nebraska Veterans Home) until her retirement. She resided in Grand Island until 1995 when she moved to Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, Nebraska.

Christine Mendenhall was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Karl, a son, Darrel W. Classen, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors include,

James R. Nittka

James R. Nittka, 80, of 902 So. Wabash, died Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Services will be Saturday, January 20, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Carl Utley officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

James R. Nittka was born icon January 21, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Oscar & Lena (Yonkora) Nittka. He graduated from Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from February 20, 1942 to October 7, 1945. In October of 1944, he married June W. Rager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and she preceded him in death on November 7, 1993. He moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1977 and worked for Hastings Industries/Dravo Corporation until his retirement.

James R. Nittka was preceded in death by his parents and wife, June.

Survivors include,

Daughter: Mrs. Suzanne Nuttall - Wexford, PA

Fred T. Tripp

Former Hastings resident, Fred T. Tripp, 78, of Lewistown, Montana, died Thursday, January 11, 2001 at the Central Montana Medical Center of cancer.

Memorial service with Masonic Rites will be Friday, January 19, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Fred T. Tripp was born icon January 6, 1923 in Hastings, Nebraska to Fred A. & Pearl (Day) Tripp. He received his education in Nebraska and entered the United States Navy on July 1, 1943 and was discharge from active duty on November 10, 1945. He was in the reserves until April 27, 1948. On February 8, 1947, he married Leona J. Reiche in Kansas City, Missouri. After his discharge, he entered medical school. He then worked for a pharmaceutical company for 20 years, working in Nebraska, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania and Virginia, retiring in 1975. They moved to Lewistown, Montana and he worked for Coast to Coast for a short time and was then hired as manager for the Lewistown Job Service. He retired in 1988. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and trips to Crystal Lake with his wife and friends. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodges, American Legion and the Central Montana Shrine Club, all of Lewistown, Montana. He was also a member of Hastings Lodge #50, Scottish Rites and Tehama Shrine Temple all in Hastings, Nebraska.

Fred T. Tripp was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Survivors include,

Sons: Fred Allen Tripp, Jr. - Lincoln, NE
Thomas Henry Tripp - Littleton, CO
Grandchildren: 5
