Services will be Friday, July 25, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Frank Kerkemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Paul F. Bieck was born
August 24, 1921 in Giltner, Nebraska to William & Anna (Nowka) Bieck. He graduated from Harvard High School, Harvard, Nebraska in 1937. He married Pauline M. Von Spreckelsen at Zion Lutheran Church, Clay Center, Nebraska on July 31, 1943. He worked in the warehouse at Western Land Roller, Engel Lumber & Supply, Consolidated Motor Freight and retired from LCL Truck Equipment Inc. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mr. & Mrs. Club and Stroke of Luck Club at Mary Lanning Hospital.
Paul F. Bieck was preceded in death by his parents.

James E. Stramel, 60, of #114 Autumn Park, 411 S. Elm, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 22, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at WaKeeney Cemetery, WaKeeney, Kansas with the Pastor Randy Gibbs officiating.
James E. Stramel was born
July 6, 1943 in Seldon, Kansas to Rudy and Tillie (Wessel) Stramel. He moved to Hastings in 1965. On August 28, 1967, he married Barbara Latzel in Garden City, KS., and they later divorced. He worked at Western Land Roller, Werner Construction and Phillips Industries, all in Hastings.
James E. Stramel was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister-in-law.

Hastings resident, Bernice L. Jarolimek, 78, of 402 Circle D., Good Samaritan Village, died Saturday, July 19, 2003; at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 23, 2003; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Roseland, Nebraska with Father Thomas Au officiating.
Bernice L. Jarolimek was born
September 3, 1924 in Juniata, Nebraska to Aleck & Susan (Heuertz) Parr. She married Donald Jarolimek on April 7, 1947 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and he preceded her in death in July of 1985. She worked at Lincoln Telephone & Telegram Company and for Mode O’Dey before attending South East Community College where she earned her Secretarial Science Degree in 1975. She then worked at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska and Veterans Administration in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Perpetual Adoration at St. Cecilia’s, Legion of Mary and a past foster grandparent.

Floyd Rol was born
June 22, 1919 In Sibley, Iowa to Peter & Mary (Sieders) Rol. He graduated from high school and served in the United States Army during WWII from June 10, 1942 until December 13, 1945. He married Louise ‘Susie’ Uhrmacher in Hastings, Nebraska on June 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death in January, 1997. He was a custodian for the United States Post Office, Hastings, Nebraska. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, D.A.V., and a life member of the V.F.W.
Floyd Rol was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise ‘Susie’ and a son Michael Allen Rol, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Anna Lucille Henry was born
January 21, 1923 in Riverton, Nebraska to Hector & Anna Leona (Johnson) Champoux. She grew up in the Campbell, Nebraska area. She was a care giver for 10 years at Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska. On June 26, 1976, she married Louis J. Henry in Hastings, Nebraska. They lived in Campbell, Nebraska before moving to Hastings, Nebraska in September of 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska, and St. Anne’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Campbell, Nebraska.
Anna Lucille Henry was preceded in death by parents and a brother, Ray Champoux.

Shirley Rae (Wiederspan) Taylor
Former Hastings resident, Shirley Rae (Wiederspan) Taylor, 69, of Bellevue, NE, died Friday, July 11, 2003 at Midland’s Hospital, Papillion, NE. She was born
on January 10, 1934 in Hastings, NE to Henry & Lavina (Becker) Wiederspan. Shirley graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings, NE, class of 1951 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hastings College, class of 1955. On November 20, 1954, she married Gaylen Taylor. She was an elementary education teacher and served as an Activities Director in Adult Day Care. Shirley was a former board member and past President of the Tuesday Musical Concert Series in Omaha, NE.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gaylen of Bellevue, NE; her brother Stan Wiederspan of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughters and sons-in-law Betsy and Keith Sheets of Lincoln, NE and Jennifer and Ben Voegtli of Bellevue, NE and by her grandchildren Megan (Sheets) Drayton and Justin Sheets of Lincoln, NE and Amanda and Alexandra Voegtli of Bellevue, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be given to the Hastings College Foundation, the Eastmont Towers Foundation and the Tuesday Musical Concert Series.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 13, 2003 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present at Butler-Volland Funeral Home, 1225 N. Elm Ave., Hastings, NE. Private graveside services at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Memorial services will be Monday, July 14, 2003; 11:30 a.m. at French Memorial Chapel on the Hastings College campus, 8th & Turner, Hastings, NE. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception at the Hastings College Alumni Center, 1001 N. 6th Ave., Hastings, NE.
Donald A. Glass
Donald A. Glass, 87, of 1512 Highland Dr., died Friday, July 11, 2003 at his home.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 22, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Stephen J. Brownlee officiating. Private family interment at a later date. No visitation.
Donald A. Glass was born
April 18, 1916 in Grand Island, Nebraska to John B. & Carrie (Anderson) Glass. He graduated from Grand Island Sr. High School in 1935 and attended Hastings College and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska where he received a letter in Gymnastics. He was a pilot and raced hydroplane speed boats in the 1930's. During WWII, from July 14, 1941 until November 28, 1945, he served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and attended glider pilot school. On August 28, 1949, he married Phyllis D. Clark in Hastings, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on July 23, 1996. He was a Vice-President at Western Landroller before retiring in 1979. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Hastings Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M., Royal Order of Jesters, Tehama Shrine and Ducks Unlimited.

Hastings resident, Frances Veryl Hansen, 96, of Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Village, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at Perkins Pavilion.
Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, July 9, 2003; 10:00 A.M. at Hildreth Cemetery, Hildreth, Nebraska.
Frances Veryl Hansen was born
May 2, 1907 in Hildreth, Nebraska to Walter & Georgia Maine (Cecil) McCombs. She attended Hildreth Public Schools and graduated from Hildreth High School in 1925. On September 5, 1925, she married Raymond E. Hansen in Hastings, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1967. She was employed by Swans Furniture Store and by the Swan family for 27 years. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.
Frances Veryl Hansen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Hansen, son, Keith Hansen, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Former Hastings resident, Caroline Wisker Caddell, 79, of Amarillo, Texas, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Caroline Wisker Caddell was born
September 20, 1923 in Hastings, Nebraska to Dick C. & Margaret K. (Fox) Cornelius. On March 3, 1941, she married Harold L. Wisker and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1995. She worked a First National Bank in Hastings, Nebraska as a teller. In 1973, they moved to Texas where she was a bookkeeper for Texas Panhandle Community Action in Amarillo. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, president of Beta Sigma Phi International and was active in Arts Unlimited all in Amarillo. On November 24, 2001, she married Joseph Caddell in Amarillo, Texas.
Caroline Wisker Caddell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Wisker, 1 son, Chuck Wisker and 3 sisters.
