Ethel Muth, 84, of Creston, Nebraska died Friday, December 19, 2003 at Countryside Home in Madison, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church 14 miles north of Columbus with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Tuesday at 10:15 AM at the church.

Ethel Muth was born icon January 24, 1919 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Bernhard & Emma (Gehring) Janssen. She attended District 28 school in rural Platte County. Ethel married Howard Muth on June 7, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church, Grand Prairie. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she had done much volunteer work. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area.

Walter H. Muth

Walter H. Muth, 86 of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Beverly Healthcare in Columbus.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 10:30 AM at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Klatt officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Columbus. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 AM.

Walter H. Muth was born icon September 6, 1917 in Creston, Nebraska to William & Lydia (Lueschen) Muth. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran Grade School. Walter farmed his entire life. He married Evelyn Marty on April 12, 1975. Walter enjoyed playing cards and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Ina Mae Muhle

Ina Mae Muhle, 74, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 from 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM at the church.

Ina Mae Muhle was born icon March 5, 1929 to Lewis and Hazel (Lucke) French at Schuyler, Nebraska. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1947. She married Donald Muhle Sr. on June 29, 1949 at Schuyler, Nebraska. They farmed in Colfax county and moved to Columbus in 1980. She worked at Dale Electronics and was a custodian at Trinity Lutheran Church. Ina Mae was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church Shell Creek and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in the ladies circles at both churches.

Olga Louise Asche

Olga L. Asche, 98, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Mory's Haven Nursing Home in Columbus.

Services are Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Roland A. Jank officiating. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:15 AM at the church. Interment will be on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Leigh, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church.

Olga Louise Asche was born icon February 19, 1905 in rural Leigh, Nebraska to Adolph and Ida (Barjenburch) Asche. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Leigh, Nebraska. Olga attended District 43 Platte County, Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Leigh High School in 1924. She lived on the family farm with her parents, before moving to Columbus in 1956. Olga was a domestic worker. While living in Leigh, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus.

Louise Becher Prest

Louise Becher Prest, 95, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, November 24, 2001 at the Northfield Manor, Northfield, Minnesota.

Services are Saturday, December 1, 2001 at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Roland A. Jank officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2001 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church.

Louise Becher Prest was born icon August 3, 1906 in Columbus, Nebraska to Dirk and Catherine (Johannes) Becher. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and graduated in 1924 from Columbus High School. As a youth, Louise was active in the Jr. & Sr. Walther League groups at Immanuel, where she served as the secretary for many years. She worked for many years at Henry Ragatz Company and retired after 18 years from Rogers Motors where she was the office manager.
She married James Prest on November 24, 1962 in Columbus. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been active in the choir, ladies circles, LWML, and Bible classes.

Louise is survived by:

Mickey L. (Lahm) Palmer

Mickey L. (Lahm) Palmer, 78 of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 9:45 AM at the church.

Mickey (Lahm) Palmer was born icon October 5, 1925 to Conrad and Frances (Sieber) Eilers in Sterling, Nebraska. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1943, and worked at the Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph Company after graduation. Mickey married Delton Lahm on August 29, 1948 in Lincoln, Nebraska and they farmed in Lancaster County. They moved numerous times throughout Nebraska and Colorado before settling in Weeping Water, Nebraska in 1955 and Nehawka, Nebraska in 1962 to raise their three boys.
Mickey also worked at Nehawka Public Schools and wrote articles for the Plattsmouth Journal. Delton died in 1973 and Mickey married E. A. (Arland) Palmer June 19, 1976. They farmed in Pierce County and Mickey was a member of Stark Valley Methodist Church in the rural Plainview area, and recently attended First United Methodist Church in Columbus. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary, Grand Squares (square dancing group) and Methodist Youth Fellowship. After Arland's death, Mickey moved to Columbus Place Apartments in Columbus, Nebraska. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and family activities.

HERBERT A. HUSMANN

Herbert A. Husmann, 83 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus, Nebraska. Services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. at the Creston Baptist Church in Creston, Nebraska with the Rev. Eric Heisel officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Creston. A family prayer service will be at 1:45 P.M. Friday at the church. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 28, 2000 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.

Herbert A. Husmann was born icon March 6, 1917 in Rural Creston, Nebraska to Henry and Lena (Kruse) Husmann. He attended Creston Schools and graduated from Creston High School in 1935. He married Edna R. Moser on October 1, 1952 in Greeley, Colorado. Herbert was a member of the Creston Baptist Church where he had served as the church clerk for many years, he also served on the Humphrey Township Board. He farmed all of his life on the family farm and retired in 1988, when he moved to Columbus. Herbert enjoyed traveling and family gatherings.

ALVINA H. MENKE

Alvina H. Menke, 92 of Columbus, NE, died September 6, 2000 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Saturday, September 09, 2000 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Mike Neely officiating. Interment will be at the Shell Creek Baptist Cemetery in Rural Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until service time.
Alvina Menke was born icon January 7, 1908 to William and Hulda (Albers) Menke in rural Platte County, Nebraska. She attended District #35 school and farmed with her parents 10 miles north of Columbus. Later, she moved to Columbus where she worked as a cook at Columbus Junior High School and as a baker at Gloor Bakery. After her retirement, she continued baking, gardening, canning and created beautiful afghans and quilts. She was a member of Redeemer Baptist Church and attended Highland Park Evangelical Free Church in her later years.
Memorials may be directed to the Highland Park Evangelical Free Church Building Fund.
