Edna Reinke, 84, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at Beverly Healthcare in Columbus .
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 AM at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rural Platte County.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2001 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus on Saturday, August 18, 2001 from 9:00 AM until service time.
Edna H. Reinke was born
September 27, 1916 in Columbus, Nebraska to Louis D. and Helene (Oltmann) Dicke. She grew up on the family farm in Platte County and attended District 2 school. On September 24, 1944 she married Martin Reinke in Columbus. Edna helped with the work on the farm and she also was active in their church. Edna was a Sunday School Teacher and helped teach Bible School at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek for many years. Edna also worked for several years as a dispatcher for Big Red Sanitation. She was also active in the Golden Keys Extension Club and was a leader for their 4-H Club.

Everett Weaver
Everett Weaver, 96, of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday, April 05, 2001 at Mory's Haven in Columbus .
Services will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Monday, April 09, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Dorsie Ivy officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Sunday, April 8, 2001 from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Monday, April 9, 2001 from 9:00 AM until service time.
Everett was born
March 1, 1905 in Columbus to Valentine and Effa (Beardsley) Weaver. He attended Columbus schools and graduated from Columbus High School and attended one year of college in Lincoln, Nebraska. On November 24, 1927, Everett married Oma Merrill in Silver Creek, Nebraska. He retired from the Columbus Telegram after working as a pressman, typesetter and in composition for more than 60 years.
Everett was a member of the Federated Church in Columbus, the Izaak Walton League, I.O.O.F., and Master Gardens of Nebraska. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing cards, traveling, and camping with the family.

MARIE ROGERS
Marie Roger, 93, of Seal Beach, California, formerly of Columbus, Nebraska, died October 20, 2000 in Seal Beach, California. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus with the Rev. Steven Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. Thursday, October 26, 2000 at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus.
Marie Rogers, 93, of Seal Beach, California, formerly of Columbus, Nebraska, was born
in Newark, New Jersey on October 13, 1907, to Martin and Elizabeth (Roh) Mohr. She traveled to Columbus, Nebraska as an infant. She grew up on a farm, along with her 10 brothers and sisters.
In 1932, she married Elmer Moschenross of Columbus. A daughter, DeEtte Marie, was born
in 1939. As a young woman, Marie was active in a bridge club, worked part time in her father-in-law's business, and enjoyed dancing to big bands of that era. She was widowed in 1949 and in 1951 relocated to Long Beach.
Marie worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach in the pediatrics ward as a nurses aid. She retired in 1971 after 20 years.
She was an avid gardener, enjoying the growing of her own fruits and vegetables as well as plants and flowers. In her retirement she had time to enjoy her membership to the Eagles Lodge, where she helped with the weekly Friday night dinners.
She loved the out of doors and spent a great deal of time puttering around the home where she lived independently until the age of 91.
Above all else, she enjoyed the visits of her grandsons and great grandchildren.

Neoma L. Weber, 73, of Columbus, NE died Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Services will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Saturday, November 04, 2000 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment will be at the Columbus Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday.
Neoma L. Weber was born
May 25, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Harold F. and Bernice M. (Davis) Tredway. She moved to Columbus, Nebraska as a child. Neoma attended Kramer High School. She worked at Dale Electronics in the shipping department, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eagles Auxiliary.

ADOLPH 'DODE' ROELLE
Adolph 'Dode' G. Roelle, 86 of Columbus, Nebraska, died November 3, 2000 at the Valhaven Nursing Center in Valley, Nebraska. A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at 10:30 AM at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus, with military honors by American Legion Honor Guard, Hartman Post 84. Following the service at the cemetery, a Memorial Service of Thanksgiving will follow at 11:00 at St. Luke's United Church of Christ with Rev. Nancy Peebles officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Church of Christ or donor's choice.
Adolph 'Dode' G. Roelle, 86, of Columbus was born
November 13, 1913 in Columbus to Carl and Louise (Hertig) Roelle. He attended school in Columbus, graduating from Kramer High in 1931. On September 2, 1941 he entered the service and served in the Army Air Force. He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1945.
During this time he earned the following decorations and citations: Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Silver and Bronze Battle Star, Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Dist. Unit Badge and four Overseas Service Bars. He saw battles in Southern France, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Upon returning from the service he worked in the family heating and air conditioning business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going for long drives in his pickup truck.

June Schmidt, 60, of rural Columbus, Nebraska lost here battle with cancer at her home on Monday, April 22, 2002. Services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Columbus, with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment will be at the Okay Cemetery, rural Monroe, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2002 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and on Friday, April 26, 2002 from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Friday at 9:45 AM at the church.
June was born
July 25, 1941 in Dixon County, Nebraska to George and Reva (Herfel) Rasmussen. She attended Second District 42 in Dixon County and graduated from Laurel High School, Laurel, Nebraska. She attended Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska for two years, receiving an elementary education teaching certificate after which she taught one year in a Cedar County, Nebraska rural school, and three years at District 17 in Polk County, Nebraska. While in college, June worked as a grocery checker. Later, she worked for the Columbus races, Polk County ASCS as field reporter, Polk County Election Board, and several years at FDC Publishing in Columbus. She married David L. Schmidt on June 10, 1962 at the Laurel United Methodist Church.
As a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, June taught Sunday School and was an active member of the United Methodist Women as well as participating in various other capacities. Over the years, she helped with Brownies, Cub Scouts, 4-H, and served on the Polk County Extension Board.
