Darlene Roush
Darlene Roush, 80, of Grand Island, died Monday-April 30, 2007 in Sherman County as a result of a car accident.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Reverend Onamae Waddel will officiate. Burial of her ashes will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Darlene was born
August 21, 1926 in Hamilton County the daughter of Roy and Hilma (Ortegren) Luthy. Darlene was raised on the family farm attending school in Aurora, NE. She went to work for Northwestern Bell before being united in marriage to Virgil Roush on September 12, 1948 in Grand Island.
Together they established Kingswood Estates. They owned and operated Kingswood Estates until 1978.
She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the church’s Ruth Society, and Daughters of the Nile in Hastings, the Cosmopolitan Club for 48 years, a founding member of the Cornhusker RV Club and a member of the Newmar RV Club. She enjoyed volunteer work, baking, gardening, fishing, camping and traveling. For many years she and Virgil traveled to Mexico doing mission work.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Virgil, three daughter and sons-in-law, Deborah and Carl Tesmer of Grand Island, Diane and Don Lewis of Centennial, Colorado, and Patricia and Rick Johnson of Grand Island and a brother and his wife, Norman and JoAnn Luthy of Aurora, NE and grandchildren and their spouses, Trudy and Kevin Rothrock, Tracy and Jeff Gannon, Tyler and Leah Tesmer, Tarah Tesmer, Logan Lewis, Danielle Lewis, Hayley Johnson, Mitchell Johnson and Ali Johnson and great grandchildren, Kathryn Rothrock, Ticen Rothrock, Jady Gannon and Gage Gannon.
Her parents, brother Deroice and great granddaughter Sara Rothrock preceded her in death.
Memorials are suggested either to the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the Nile or to the family’s choice.
Elsie M. Schimmer
Elsie M. Schimmer, 87, of Grand Island, died Monday March 19, 2007 at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Reverend William Pavuk will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Elsie was born
October 23, 1919 at Grand Island the daughter of Julius and Emma (Muhs) Gutschow. Elsie was raised on the family farm southwest of Grand Island, receiving her education at Hall County District 66 and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1938. She was united in marriage to Maynard Schimmer on February 4, 1942 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. They continued to farm all their married life together.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. She served as past president of St. Pauls Women of the ELCA and member of the Anna circle. She was a charter member of Literacy program in Nebraska, past 4 H leader, member of Leadership Tomorrow, was active in lay ministry of St. Pauls Lutheran, active in Nebraska Cattle Women’s Association, and the Platt-Duetsche Auxiliary.
Her husband Maynard died November 27, 2000.
Survivors are and son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Karen Schimmer of Grand Island, and daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Robert Worrall of Fair Oaks, Texas.
Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Jeff and Cindy Schimmer, Tyson and Annette Schimmer, Traci and Erin Romans, Rhonda and Pat Munnerlyn, Wendy and Matt Garabedian and Robert Worrall and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, her parents and a sister Lorrane Headrick preceded her in death.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.
Alan G. Schoenheiter
Alan G. Schoenheiter, 59, of Grand Island, died Saturday June 16, 2007 at the Golden Living Center Park Place.
Graveside Burial of Ashes will be July 30, 2007 in the Grand Island Cemetery. The Reverend Vernon Rice will officiate.
There will be no visitation. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Alan was born
May 22, 1948 at Grand Island the son of Quintin and Evalyn (Waddick) Schoenheiter. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High and attended Hastings Community College.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father Quintin of Grand Island, sisters Marilyn G. Parks of Kearney and Loretta Geary of Jacksonville, Florida and a brother “Marty” Quintin Schoenheiter of Salt Lake City, Utah.
His mother preceded him in death in 1991.
Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
Harold "Dutch" Seim
“Dutch” Harold Seim, 89, of Grand Island, died Sunday ~ January 14, 2007 at Beverly Health Care at Lakeview in Grand Island.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Reverend Randy Fett will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.
He was born
March 21, 1917 in Merrick County the son of John and Clara (Giesenhagen) Seim.
His wife Loraine preceded him in death on July 31, 2005.
Harold was born
on March 21, 1917 in Merrick County, Nebraska the son of John and Clara (Giesenhagen) Seim He was raised on the family farm near Worms graduating from the Zion Lutheran School in Worms. He served in the United States Army from April 1941 to November 1945. Mr. Seim was united in marriage to Loraine Renken on January 26, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. In July of 1946 the couple moved to Grand Island where Mr. Seim was employed by REA as a foreman lineman. He worked for REA (Southern Power) for 36 years retiring in 1982.
Mr. Seim was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, VFW, Elks and the Liederkranz, and was active with the Association of Retarded Citizens. Harold loved his Christian faith and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jane Seim of Grand Island, Tom and Kathy Seim of Stone Mountain, Georgia, John and Kathy Seim of York, Nebraska and Ronald Seim of Minden, Nebraska, a brother Alton Seim of Portland, Oregon, a sister Lenora Kasworm of Rupert, Idaho,ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, his parents and one brother preceded him in death.

Norma Shada
Norma M. Shada, 95, of Grand Island, Norma went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Beverly Healthcare~ Parkplace in Grand Island.
Norma was born
February 1, 1912 at Omaha the daughter of John and Helen (Karem) Shada. Norma was raised and received her education in the Anselmo and Kearney area. She moved to Grand Island in 1934 working at Twin Rivers Egg Plant for 28 years, Delicious Foods, The Grand Generation Center and the Salvation Army.
She volunteered at the Salvation Army. Norma enjoyed gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters Helen Ramirez of Lincoln and Ramona Austin of California, brothers Anthony and Leo Shada of Kearney, and sisters Victoria Applegarth of Kearney, Maxine Greever of Ft. Worth, TX ,grandchildren Tracy, James and John Munoz, and great grandchildren Ashley Leitner, Cooper Munoz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, brothers Nicholas, George, John, Jr., and Victor Shada and sisters Mabel McCauley and Josephine Wetzig, son-in-law, Jesse “Jim” Munoz and nephews Johnny and Jerry Shada preceded her in death.

Doris Gene Snyder
Doris Gene Snyder, 89, of Alma, NE, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Colonial Villa in Alma.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Reverend Onamae Waddel will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Mrs. Snyder was born
April 6, 1918, at Phillips, NE, to Frank and Bessie (Thurston) Adelade.
She grew up and attended school in Phillips, where she graduated from Phillips High School.
Doris was united in marriage to Donald F. Snyder on May 28, 1938. She was employed by Overland National Bank and then First National Bank as a bank teller until she retired. The couple resided in Grand Island and upon retirement moved to Republican City.
Those left to cherish his memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Pat Snyder of Grand Island, a sister Willa Mae Houghton of Yacima, WA. and four grandchildren, Dan Snyder, Jeremy Snyder, Jenny Snyder and Megan Snyder and a great-grandson, Talon Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Snyder in 1998, her parents, a brother and four sisters.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Children’s Home in Omaha.
Clark Allen Spanel
Clark Allen Spanel, 25, of Hastings, formerly of Grand Island, died on July 24, 2007 as a result of a car accident near Trenton, Nebraska.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Free Church in Grand Island. The Reverends Matt Sass and Richard L. Piontkowski will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Clark was born
in Grand Island the son of Marty and Darcy (Frauen) Spanel on February 5, 1982. He attended Grand Island Public Schools and graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 2000. In High School Clark was active in Athletics, most notably track, where he excelled and won individual state honors. Clark was an excellent long jumper and sprinter. Clark was happiest when he was competing in track. Of small stature, no one had a heart the size of Clark, a fierce competitor in all things. Clark then attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney where he also participated in numerous national track meets and graduated in 2004. Although Clark gained individual honors in track, he always considered his teammates and team goals greater than his own achievements. Always smiling with an impish grin, Clark had no enemies in life and tons of friends.
On April 22, 2006 Clark was united in marriage to the love of his life Lacritia Welke in Hastings, Nebraska. He was a great husband, son, nephew, friend, teammate and person. Clark was always a passionate, positive person, who was fond of telling all who would listen, “Live in the now.” Clark will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who had the great fortune to spend time with this wonderful man. Clark was a person that cared deeply for others.
Clark was an avid Husker fan, as well as most all sports. Clark served as a police officer in Hastings. He currently was employed for Forrest Pharmaceuticals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lacritia of Hastings, his parents, Marty and Darcy Spanel of Grand Island, his paternal grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Spanel of Grand Island, maternal grandparents, Richard and Jan Frauen of Grand Island, parents-in-law, Jerry and Carol Welke of Hastings, brothers-in-law, Deyn and Kayd Welke both of Hastings. Clark is also survived by his best friend Brandon Stigge, “The closest person to a brother” of Omaha, Nebraska, numerous Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in memory of Clark Allen Spanel.
Anita L. Thesenvitz
Anita L. Thesenvitz, 85, of rural Wood River, died Wednesday July 11th at her home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Grand Island Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Thesenvitz was born
March 5, 1922 near Comstock, the daughter of Frank and Lola (Messersmith) Roach.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband “Bud” Elmer, son Charles Thesenvitz of Missouri and daughter Robyn Couch and her husband C. William Guckert III of Colorado, granddaughter Stacie L. Davis and her friend Ken Henry and Chopper, her grand dog that gave her many hours of comfort and relief.
Her parents, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
On November 14, 1943, Anita was united in marriage to “Bud” Elmer A. Thesenvitz. They made their home on the family farm. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to many.
She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and Platt Deutsche Ladies.
Anita’s family request that in her memory a rose be planted or memorials be made to the Central Nebraska Humane Society.
