Edith M. Wichman

Edith M. Wichman, 87 of Grand Island died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend Terry Brandenburg will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Mrs. Wichman was born icon July 15, 1925 at Doniphan, NE the daughter of Edgar and Pearl (Adams) VanBuskirk.

She is preceded in death by her husband August Dale Wichman in 1987.

Survivors are her children and their spouses, Evelyn Muegge of Norfolk, NE, Connie and Dennis Osterman, Kenneth Wichman, Melvin and Verla Wichman, Tony and Jodi Wichman all of Grand Island and Kirk Wichman of Chapman.

Other survivors are grandchildren and their spouses, Timothy and Melissa Wichman, Dennis and Mindy Osterman, Michael and Jennifer Osterman, Valarie and Todd Schiel, Anthony and Jennifer Wichman, Mathew and Kayla Wichman, Amy Wichman, Justin Plejdrup, Jeremy and Molly Schmidt, Nicole and Shane Lucas, Megan and Tyler Martian and Heather Wichman and 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Justin Wichman; son-in-law, Kenneth Muegge; sisters, Helen Bader Carlson and Blanche Martin and brother, LaVerne VanBuskirk.

Edith was born icon and raised on a farm near Doniphan. She graduated from Doniphan High School. On November 27, 1946 she was united in marriage to August Wichman. They made their home in Grand Island where Edith worked for the Nebraska Veterans Home and Bertolin Enterprises.

She is a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Edith enjoyed reading, music, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church.

Glen E. Wiese

Glen E. Wiese, 87, of Grand Island, died unexpectedly following a routine surgery on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Celebration of life Service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19th at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Pastor Harvey Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. this Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Glen was born icon July 31, 1924 on the home farm northwest of Grand Island, to Fredrick and Anna (Reher) Wiese.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Semm of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Tina Wiese of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Susan Wiese, Emmy Wiese and Loretta Wiese, all of Grand Island; brother-in-law, Lloyd Wagner and his wife Shirley of Chapman; five grandchildren, Tory Semm of Omaha, Nicki Mowrey and her husband Lucas, Cody Semm and his wife Stacy, Evan Wiese and Ryan Wiese, all of Grand Island; and seven great grandchildren, Brady & Brennen Semm, Spencer Staroscik, Shayde & Sequoia Semm, all of Grand Island and Kamron & Brianna Mowrey of Broken Bow, NE; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Glen was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife, Betty, of 63 years, who passed on February 7, 2011; an infant son, Randall Dean and brothers, Hugo Wiese and Arnold Wiese.

Glen grew up on the family farm just northwest of Grand Island and attended District 18 rural school. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Wagner of Chapman on September 7, 1947 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island.

Together, Glen and Betty, ran a Grade A dairy herd for 20 years. He was very proud when his family received the 100-year Family Farm Award. Everyone who knew Glen, knew his love for his family and his love of farming.

After living on the family farm for 60 years, Glen and Betty moved to Primrose Retirement Community in 2009, where he currently resided. Glen loved his new friends at Primrose who treated him like he was a part of their family.

Glen was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and served several terms on the Church Council; was a member of the Platt-Deutsche Society and a past member of the Eagles Club. He served more than 40 years on the Hall County Fair Board (Hall County Ag Society). He also served on District 18 School Board, Grand Island Farmers Union Coop Board of Directors and Farm Service Agency Board of Directors.

Glen will be remembered as a strong man with a gentle spirit. He loved his animals, raising cattle, the outdoors and tending his garden. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Big Band and Polka Music and was famous for his homemade rye bread. He loved his Saturday morning Skat game, coffee at the Aurora Coop elevator, his neighborhood gatherings, extension club gatherings, and family get-togethers.

Memorials are suggested to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church.

(Pinky) Lloyd J. Wieser

(Pinky) Lloyd J. Wieser, 86 of Grand Island died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Grand Island Nebraska Veterans Home.

To honor Mr. Wieser’s wishes cremation has taken place. Private family burial of ashes will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wieser was born icon December 23, 1925 near Wolbach, NE to Loyd and Bessie (Elliot) Wieser.

Survivors are nieces, Lana (Mrs. Leo) Schweiger of Grand Island, Stacey Goehring of Austin, TX, Sandra (Mrs. Randy) Wieser-Mathews of Minnesota; nephews, Michael Goehring of Austin, TX, Russell (Carla) Goehring of Longmont, CO, David Wieser of Minnesota, Larry (Marlene) Fiese and Rick Fiese all of Gothenburg, NE; brother, Wayne Wieser and his family of Shelton, NE and guardian, Pat Wieser of Grand Island.

He is preceded in death by one son, PGC Lynn J. Wieser (Viet Nam 1969); sisters, Velda Christensen and Shirley Goehring; brothers, Darwin Wieser, Melvin Wieser and his parents.

Pinky was born icon and raised near Wolbach. He entered the US Navy on April 17, 1947 in Hastings and was honorably discharged on February 24, 1950. He married Joanne Borre Kamper and to this union a son, Lynn Jay was born, November 1, 1949. He then married Patricia A. Whitney in October 1954 and divorced, October 1982. They owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Gothenburg. Upon the sale of the business, Lloyd spent time riding his Harley and flying their Piper Warrior. He then lived in his motor home in Texas and until last year in Alamogordo, NM when poor health brought him back to Nebraska. The past four months he has lived at the GI Veterans Home which was very special to him.

(Bob) Robert G. Williams

(Bob) Robert G. Williams, 77 of Grand Island died Friday, September 7, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery with military honors by the United Veterans Honor Guard and Nebraska Army National Guard.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Cremation will take place following the visitation.

Mr. Williams was born icon June 16, 1935 at Grand Island the son of Charlie and Dorothy (Powell) Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Louise; daughters, Dara Singletary and Rachel Williams both of Grand Island and brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Dee Williams of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Those also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren, Josiah, Skylar, Sienna and Akeelah.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Williams and son-in-law, Rob Singletary.

Bob was raised in Grand Island having attended Seedling Mile and Walnut Junior High; graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On May 15, 1971 he was united in marriage to Louise Jacobson. They made their home in Grand Island. Bob was employed by Greenburger’s Clothing Store from 1965 until retiring when the store closed.

He is a member of the Platt Duetsche Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob enjoyed hunting, playing softball and most sports. He loved Husker Football and enjoyed watching the History Channel.

A memorial fund will be established in Bob’s name.

Kristin Kay 'Kris' Willman

Kristin Kay ‘Kris’ Willman, 47, of Grand Island, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her home.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in All Faiths Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bob Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 the day of service.

Kris was born icon December 24, 1964, in Grand Island, the daughter of Ronald and Rita (Waddington) Willman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Rita and brother and sister-in-law, Kurtis and Jenny Willman of Mesa, Arizona.

She is also survived by her aunt, Peggy Einspahr of Grand Island; uncle, Dr. Gary Waddington of Scottsdale, AZ; best friend, Bryan Reimers of Grand Island; cousins, Nathan (Toby) and family of Valrico, FL, Julie Walden (Stanley Waters) and family of Grand Island, and Erin Waddington, Ryan Waddington and Sara Korlevich and their families, all of Scottsdale; nephew and niece, Noah and Jordan Willman; and her faithful, furry, loving companion, Mia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Willman and her grandparents.

Kris grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1983. She attended University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated with a BSN in 1988. Kris was employed by the Air Force as a contract nurse. She was also employed at Howard County Memorial Hospital in St. Paul, Saint Francis Medical Center, Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, and currently worked at the NE Veterans Medical Center. Her profession was important to her and her patients loved her.

A giving person, Kris loved her family and her animals. She also enjoyed music and loved to sing.

Donations are suggested to National Suicide Prevention or Central Nebraska Humane Society.

Greg E. Wolsleben

Greg E. Wolsleben, 54 of Grand Island died Sunday September 23, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Reverend Harvey Johnson will officiate. Burial will be Friday at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE with full military honors.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mr. Wolsleben was born icon August 2, 1958 at Sargent, NE the son of Emil and Shirley (Orvis) Wolsleben.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Wolsleben of Grand Island; children, Grant, Jeb, Leif, Esperanza and Enrique Wolsleben all of Grand Island; brother, Tim Wolsleben of Steinauer, NE and a sister, Julie Younger of Bellevue, NE.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Greg was raised in St. Libory and graduated from St. Paul High School, class of 1976. He served in the United States Army. Following active duty he served in the Nebraska Army National Guard retiring following 22 years of service. In 1986 he was united in marriage to Ruthie Nielson. Following his military service he made the Grand Island area his home.

Greg is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family.

A memorial fund will be established in memory of Greg.

Thomas A. Wright

Thomas A. Wright, 60 of Grand Island, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Wedgewood Care Center.

Celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Wright was born icon March 23, 1952 at Chicago, Illinois the son of Dale and Frances (Steele) Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; daughters, Tomi Wright and Chelsea Wright both of Thornton, CO; son Garrett Wright of Thornton, CO; stepson, Nathanial Hutcheson of Grand Island; stepdaughter, Raelynn Grotzky of Wiesbaden, Germany; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Colleen Wright of San Jose, CA, David Wright of Kearney and Kim and Sue Wright of Kearney and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Mike Hodges of Lexington, NE.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Keanna, Owen, Shea, Eliza, Kyle and Sophia.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sanford (Sanny) Wright.

Tom was raised and received his education in Kearney. Tom lived in Colorado for many years working as a Journeyman-Lineman Electrician. He served as a union steward. For 18 years, Tom worked for Union REA.

He was united in marriage to Sylvia Mefford on September 26, 2006. Tom enjoyed NASCAR Racing and was a Jimmy Stewart fan. He also was an avid Denver Bronco fan.

Because Tom lived his life the way he wanted, his family request that blue jeans be worn to his celebration.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
