Lorraine Seifert
SUN VALLEY, Calif. -- Lorraine Seifert, 80, of Sun Valley, Calif., died March 28, 2000.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna. The Rev. Rod Pruss will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.
Mrs. Seifert was born
May 6, 1919, in Dell Rapids, S.D. to Nick and Susan Huss.
She married Erwin Seifert in 1940. She had lived in the San Fernando Valley, Calif. since 1941.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Moody of Mission Hills, Calif.; one son, Erwin L. Seifert of AlisoViejo, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987.
Donald Wilkins
CARROLLTON, Texas -- Donald Woodson Wilkins, 82, of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday, April 8, 2000.
Services will be on Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Farmer's Branch, Texas. The Rev. Phillip Read will officiate. Burial will be in early summer in Grand Island. Mr. Wilkins was cremated.
Mr. Wilkins was born
on Feb. 25, 1918, in Grand Island to Isaac James and Jean (Woodson) Wilkins. He attended elementary and junior high school in Grand Island. He graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles.
He attended the University of Nebraska for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served six years in various locations including the Port of Long Beach, Port Hueneme and San Francisco, Calif., as well as the South Pacific. He was discharged in St. Louis as a chief petty officer.
He worked for his father at Diers Motor Co. in Grand Island. He pursued a career in consumer finance and worked for Continental Industrial Bank in Denver. He retired from the Bank of America after 21 years in finance management.
He was a member of Masonic Ashler Lodge 22, the Elks and the American Legion, all of Grand Island. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, of which his grandfather, Matthew Wilkins, was a founding deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; four children, Robyn Mangham and Kay Cartwright of Atlanta and Penny Cadwell and Russell Wilkins of Dallas; and six grandchildren.
Dean Domeier
Dean E. Domeier, 70, of Grand Island, formerly of Sutton, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grafton. The Rev. Michael Helwig will officiate. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kohler Mortuary in Sutton.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Domeier was born
on June 26, 1929, in Grafton to Anton L. and Mayme (Everts) Domeier. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1946 and attended Wayne State College for two years.
He married Deloris Unterseher on Oct. 29, 1950, in Sutton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. After the service, he farmed for a few years and then owned and operated the Sutton Bakery for 24 years. He retired in 1988.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 53, both of Grand Island.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deborah (Mrs. Larry) Meyer of Hastings and Vicki Goetz of Grand Island; two sons, Bruce and Jerry, both of Sutton; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Mick of Sutton and Florence Schroder of Grand Island; and one brother, Vern Domeier of Sutton.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dwayne.
Bertha Hansen
Bertha M. Hansen, 95, of Grand Island died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Park Place Heath Care and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Gretchen Diers will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene (Mrs. Harlan) Klein of Grand Island and Dana (Mrs. Robert) Arnold of Fremont; one son, Ervin Hansen of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alfred Schmidt of Geneso, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; one grandchild; two sisters, Alvanna Wahl and Effie Szafrajda; and four brothers, Fred, John, Henry and William Schmidt.
James Ball
SHELTON -- James Ball, 78, of Shelton died Monday, April 10, 2000, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Shelton. The Rev. Charles Spencer will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department.

Billie Evans
SPALDING -- Billie E. Evans, 55, of Spalding died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church Family Center in Dannebrog. The Rev. Rob Pierson will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery at Dannebrog.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Evans was born
on June 1, 1944, at Grand Island to Eugene and Betty (Archer) Evans. He attended Dannebrog schools and grew up on a farm near Dannebrog.
He then worked as a heavy equipment operator in Grand Island for Don Waterman. He later moved to Denver, where he worked for Central Union as a heavy equipment operator.
He retired in 1989 due to ill health. He enjoyed fishing and attending auctions.
Survivors include three sons, Brian, Stephen and Corey, all of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Robin (Mrs. Kyle) Townsend of Roca; his mother, of Dannebrog; three brothers, Jerry and Dennis of Longmont, Colo., and Robert of Copperas Cove, Texas; four grandchildren; and a special friend, Darlene Rott of Spalding.
He was preceded in death by his father.
'Maggie' Everett
ST. PAUL -- Magdalena E. "Maggie" Everett, 85, of St. Paul died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul with the Rev. Michael McDermott officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a wake service at 7 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Good Samaritan Center.

Mrs. Everett was born
on Nov. 14, 1914, in Sweetwater to Edward and Gertrude (Kramer) Hohlfeld. She was raised in the Ravenna area and graduated from Ravenna High School. She worked at Henningson Foods and Farmers until moving to St. Paul.
She married James Everett Sr. on Feb. 23, 1974, in Ravenna. The couple lived in St. Paul, where Mrs. Everett worked at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Church for 30 years.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of St. Paul.
Survivors include two stepsons; two stepdaughters; three sisters, Arlone Novotne of Gibbon, Viola Hall of Gering and Helen Hohlfeld of Ravenna; and one brother, Hank Hohlfeld of Gering.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lawrence and Edward Hohlfeld; and two sisters, Gertrude Billings and Anna Booze.
Betty Homolka
FARWELL -- Betty L. Homolka, 67, of Farwell died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell with the Revs. Dave Rykwalder and Larry Coulter officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. rosary at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.

Mrs. Homolka was born
on Dec. 19, 1932, in Grand Island to Walter A. and Mildred (Billington) Davis.
She married Richard Homolka on May 17, 1952, in Grand Island, where the couple lived. They moved to Farwell in 1981.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and enjoyed listening to polka music, doing crafts and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Richard "Butch" Homolka Jr., Anton "Tony" Homolka Sr., Dean Homolka and Russell Homolka Sr., all of Grand Island; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Larry) Roebuck of Farwell and Ann (Mrs. Terry) Schleicher of Central City; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Davis Jr. of Grand Island, Roland Davis of Cozad and Dean Davis of Arizona; and three sisters, Helen Davis, Vera Hill and Mary Manka, all of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; an infant grandson; and two brothers, Don Davis and Darell Davis.
Wilmer Johnson
STROMSBURG -- Wilmer Elner Johnson, 87, of Stromsburg died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.
Warren Krause
BURWELL -- Warren Krause, 78, of Burwell died April 2, 2000, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Burwell with the Rev. Rolly Salts officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.

Mr. Krause was born
on May 7, 1921, in Cordova to Henry and Addie (Eaton) Krause. He attended school in Loup County.
He married Elaine Mares on June 15, 1944, in Burwell. He was a farmer and rancher and was one of the first employees at the Loup Valley Alfalfa Mill in Burwell. He also was a parts man for International Harvester and later worked at the Burwell Livestock Market.
He was a member of the school board and Elks Lodge and was a deacon in the Christian Church.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Kathy (Mrs. Phillip) Mann; one son, Scott Krause; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Krause, Hazel Strege and Elma Cronk; and three brothers, Lester, Floyd and Virgil Krause.
