Robert Bechdolt, Jr.
Robert L. Bechdolt, Jr. was born on March 6, 1931 at Portland, Ind. and entered into rest on July 21, 2005 at Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services were held July 25 at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha, Neb. with Rev. John Hansen officiating. Interment was held at Evergreen Memorial Park in Omaha.
Pallbearers were Aric Bechdolt, Alex Bechdolt, Andrew Bechdolt, Bob Nord and Rayburn Bischoff.
Survivors include his mother, Letha Bechdolt of Imperial; sister, Kathy Percifield of Imperial; niece, Diane Bischoff of Imperial and nephew, Dan Percifield of Champion.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
Lorna Schrotberger
Lorna Schrotberger was born on June 8, 1924 in Perkins County northwest of Grant, Neb. She was the second of six children born to Arthur and Emma Engel Boehmer.
Lorna grew up on the family farm and attended parochial school at Trinity Lutheran. She attended high school in Grant and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1942.
Lorna was married
to George Schrotberger on April 28, 1943 at the Trinity Lutheran Parsonage. Six children were born to this union.
They made their home northwest of Grant. In 1956 the family moved to the present farm home west of Grant. In addition to helping George on the farm, Lorna drove a route bus for Grant School for nearly 25 years.
George died in 1995 and Lorna continued to maintain her farm home. She was preparing to go to church on Sunday morning, July 24, 2005, when she died of an apparent heart attack at home. She had reached the age of 81.
Lorna had always been active in the Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir for several years.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorna was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Boehmer and two sisters, Pauline Poppe and an infant sister, Katherine Boehmer.
She is survived by five sons, Wendall and his wife, Linda of Gurley, Bruce and his wife, Georgia of Overland Park, Kan., Rodney and his wife, Penny of Grant, Kevin and his companion Janet Weiss of Imperial, and Chris of Grant; one daughter, Diane and her husband, Joel Hunsburger of Tipton, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred and her husband, Ward Clough of Otis, Colo. and Ardis and her husband, Roy Sparks of Brule; two daughters-in-law, Billie and Kelli of Grant; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held July 27 at the Trinity Lutheran Church north of Grant with Pastor Wayne Pick officiating.
Music was by Sandy Glenn and the congregation.
Casketbearers were Lorna's grandchildren.
Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
A memorial has been established.

James Hern
James Malcolm Hern was born July 10, 1928, in Memphis, Tenn., one of three children born to Clarence and Audrey Hern.
Jim died July 9, 2005, one day short of his 77th birthday, in the Family Hospice Foundation Center in Tucson, Ariz., six months after being diagnosed with cancer.
He spent three years in the Marines where he served as crew chief for John Glenn and learned to golf in Guam. He became an air traffic controller in Knoxville, Tenn. before deciding to become a pilot. He learned to fly over the rice fields in Arkansas and moved to Johnson, Kan. where he was a crop duster for over 35 years.
Jim also flew for Ron Jones in Imperial, Neb. and Wray, Colo. He owned his own aerial spray business in Sterling before moving to Tucson in 1980.
On Aug. 12, 1985, Jim married
Mary Kathleen Statz Coyne in Johnson, Kan. and they made their home in Tucson, Ariz.
Jim continued to fly in Kansas each summer.
In Tucson, Jim enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. On Jan. 15, 1993, he made a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at Cliff Valley Golf Course.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
He is survived by wife Mary (Kathy) of Tucson; stepsons Staff Sargeant Mark Coyne and family of Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Michael Shaw of Tucson; mother-in-law Dorothy Statz of Imperial, Neb.; brothers-in-law Harold and Ann Statz of Nickerson, Neb., Leon and Jean Statz of Lebanon, Ky., Bud and Sharon Statz of Imperial, Bob and Barbara Statz and Ralph and Linda Statz of Holyoke, Colo.; and sisters-in-law Pauline Patterson of Tucson and Carla Croner of Imperial; daughters Deb and Lou Lynn from a former marriage and grandchildren Vanessa, Tyler, Wade and Ben.
A memorial service was held on July 14 and his cremated remains will be spread in Johnson, Kan. by his family at a later date.
Memorials will be given to the hospice center and may be sent to Mary K. Hern, 7645 East Lee Street, Tucson, AZ 85715.
Michael Van Vleet
Memorial services for Michael Van Vleet, 36, who passed away June 6, 2005 in an auto accident near Bandera, Texas, will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Imperial, Neb. with Associate Pastor Patty Gandarilla officiating.
Inurnment will follow at the Blanche cemetery, rural Chase County.
A memorial has been established for Cheyanne at the Guaranty Bank of Bandera, Texas.

Dr. Stanley Schroeder
Dr. Stanley Schroeder, 81, formerly of Imperial, Neb. died on July 14, 2005 at the Grand Island Veterans Home after a brief illness with recurring cancer.
Dr. Schroeder was born on Dec. 15, 1923 in Venango, Neb., the son of Albert and Alda (Wostenberg) Schroeder.
He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
He also served in the Military during WWII.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Black on June 15, 1948 in Caldwell, Idaho. The couple lived in Imperial where they owned and operated the Stanbar Animal Hospital for almost 30 years.
Dr. Schroeder volunteered with Boy Scouts, Jaycees and he served as a member of the school board during those years. He spent his free time gardening, reading, and helping his daughters with their outdoor 4-H Projects.
For most of his life you would find him accompanied by "man's best friend," including Bruno, Heidi, Mutsy or Sam.
Stanley married
Corleen Dyer on March 17, 1980 in Greeley, Colo. The couple resided at Alta Vista Ranch outside of Calhan, Colo. where they raised a small herd of red Angus cattle.
Highlights of his later years included trips to Europe, Africa, Alaska and considerable touring throughout the United States. During the late 1990's, he traveled extensively throughout Colorado and in 2003, he went to live with his daughter in Sioux Falls, S.D.
He entered the Grand Island Veterans Home in January 2004. While living at the Veterans Home, he developed a new family of friends and caregivers who cherished his charming sense of humor and sweet disposition. He even discovered an artistic side and created numerous, whimsical and unique ceramic pieces.
Survivors include four daughters and their husbands: Sue Ann and Dr. Terry Lang of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mary and Nelson Siegler of Boulder, Colo.; Kristin "Kemeha" and Kutar Schwartz, of California; and Linda and Ben Rohrer, of Salina, Kan.; seven grandchildren: Heather Lang, Sera Jordan, Gretchen Lang, Robin Lang, Betsy Lang, Tanner Rohrer and Madeline Rohrer; and one sister, Yvonne Hermann of Venango, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Scott Schroeder.
Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Imperial, Neb.
Inurnment will be in the Mount Hope cemetery.

Andrew Loop
Andrew Joe Loop, 40, of Culbertson, Neb. died Friday, July 15, 2005 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Neb.
Andy was born May 30, 1965 at Oakley, Kan. to Leo Joe and Mary Aidyl Stohler Loop. As a young boy he attended school at Lamar, Neb. through the 8th grade, then his freshman year was spent at Imperial, Neb. Later his family moved to Paxton, Neb. where he graduated from Paxton High School in 1984.
Andy had a series of jobs from ranching to traveling with a carnival. His true destination in life was to become an over the road truck driver. Andy attended Omaha Trucking School to fulfill this dream. He immediately started working for Best Refrigeration Co. in Omaha, Neb. as an over the road driver and also worked on the Coleman Dairy for many years. At the time of his death, Andy was employed by Don Hagan of Culbertson as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed the highway.
Survivors include his mother, Mary of Paxton; four sisters Sarah Morse of Imperial, Lydia and husband, John Lenhart of Roscoe, Neb., Mary and Veronica Loop, both of Paxton; six brothers, Earl and wife Beth Loop and Patrick Loop, all of Imperial, Paul and wife, Katy Loop of Fallon, Nev., Frank Loop and Kelly Harms of Yuma, Colo., Gabriel and wife Brittany Loop of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and Gail Loop of El Cajon, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Ramona Wilkenson and family of McCook, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo; and grandparents, George and Bessie Stohler and Earl and Mabel Loop.
Rosary was held on July 19 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton. Mass of the Christian Burial was held on July 20 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton with Father Bryan Emest celebrant. Burial was at the Benkelman cemetery.

Joseph Todd Lindberg
Joseph Todd Lindberg, 47, died on Father's Day, June 19, 2005, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, surrounded by family. He had non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Joseph Todd Lindberg was born on March 10, 1958 in Sargent, Neb. to Dick and Gwen (Einspahr) Lindberg.
He was baptized March 16, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ord, Neb.
He attended elementary school in Sargent, a few months at Albion and was graduated from St. Paul Lutheran School in West Point in 1972.
He was confirmed March 26, 1972 by Pastor Frank Winter at St. Paul. His verse was John 14:27.
He was a 1976 graduate of West Point High School. He attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Midland Lutheran in Fremont and University of Nebraska-Omaha.
He had a massage therapist degree. He worked as truck driver for the Oakland alfalfa mill, at West Point News, at IBP for over three years, at Absolutely Fresh Seafood in Omaha and for the past several years was a dealer/supervisor at Harrah's in Omaha.
He had lived in Omaha for the past 20 years.
Joe played trombone and sang bass. He was especially interested in photography, golf, gardening, home improvement projects, watching movies, reading and raising his pet bird "Baby."
He had a brown belt in Ninja martial arts and was the lead in the West Point Community Theatre production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." He was also in several Omaha Community Playhouse plays.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Jeff and Sandy of Fort Collins, Colo., Greg and Teri of Omaha, Mike and Jody of Lincoln and girlfriend, Monda Thompson of Omaha. He also leaves uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents including Charles and Mildred Einspahr and an uncle, Rodney Einspahr of Imperial.
Services were held at Heafey West Center Chapel in Omaha June 22, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, June 23. His cremains were buried at Mount Hope cemetery, West Point.

Wayne Peterson
Wayne Peterson, 78 of Billings, Mont., and former Livingston resident, passed away peacefully at Deaconess Billings Clinic, Wednesday, July 6, 2005.
Wayne was born on Sept. 24, 1926 in Beaver City, Neb. to Leonard and Edith (Gifford) Peterson.
He spent his early life and attended school there before entering the U.S. Army in May of 1945 at Camp Hood, Texas.
He was assigned as a truck driver in the anti-tank battalion and was later transferred to Ft. Meyer, Va. as an armored driver in the 703rd MP Ballalion. During this time he was part of a team that returned valuable jewels to Germany, which had been stolen from a high ranking family. He also had duties patrolling the Pentagon, Ft. Meyer, Arlington cemetery and escorted dignitaries.
On April 13, 1952 he married
Rosalene (Rosie) Kunnemann. In January 1969, they moved from Grant, Neb. to their ranch on Fleshman Creek in Livingston, Mont. They spent the next 20 years raising cattle and their two daughters.
Wayne joined the Farm Bureau in 1955. He served in various offices over a 19 year span from county secretary and treasurer to state director. He and Rosie moved to Billings in 2000 to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Edith Peterson and sister, Beverly Cooper.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Peterson of Billings; a sister, Barbara Cline of Glendive; a brother, Don Peterson of Imperial, Neb.; his daughters, Diann (Irvan) Floth of Billings and Janet Peterson (Les Hedquist) of Portland, Ore.; and granddaughters, Morgan and Alison Floth of Billings.
Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory in Livingston with memorial services being held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston.
Graveside committal and burial followed in Mountain View cemetery afterwhich there was a reception at the home of Morris and Ann Hallowell in Livingston.
