Nellie Belkovicz

BRENTWOOD - Nellie Belkovicz, 81, of Kadra St., died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, in Exeter Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Claremont, the daughter of the late Konstantin and Stephanita (VonGurska) Kamel. She was raised in Claremont and resided in Candia for several years before moving to Brentwood in 1970.

As a child she attended the Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church in Claremont.

Mrs. Belkovicz worked for Montgomery Ward in Claremont for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Walter A. Belkovicz of Brentwood; one sister, Olga Jarrow of East Hartford, Conn.; one sister-in-law, Adele Kamel of Claremont; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond. Burial will follow in Brentwood Cemetery, Brentwood.

Bettina A. Butler

SEABROOK - Bettina A. "Betty" Butler, 70, of 59 South Main St., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at her home.

She was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Seabrook, the daughter of the late Leonard and Jennie (Miller) Dobson.

She was a graduate of Newburyport (Mass.) High School.

Mrs. Butler was an assembler for Complex, a medical supply company in Stratham. She also worked at area shellfish businesses and at one time made shoes in her home.

She was a member and a former Sunday school teacher at Rand Memorial Church.

She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the casinos in Connecticut.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald G. Butler Sr. of Seabrook; one son, Bricky A. Butler of Seabrook; three daughters, Jennie A. Olean-Jordan of Stratham, Diane A. Roberts of Nashua and Coreen A. Perkins of Seabrook; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Edith Fowler of Newburyport, Eleanor Dobson of Seabrook and Florence Abrasambra of Methuen, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by one son, Ronald G. Butler Jr., who died in 1984.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Rand Memorial Church, Seabrook. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, Hampton.

William D. Connelly

NORTH HAMPTON - William D. Connelly, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1921, in Boston, the son of the late Daniel and Katherine (McCune) Connelly and had resided in North Hampton for many years.

Mr. Connelly enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940 and served in the U.S. Air Force through 1963 retiring as a meteorologist with the Air Weather Service. During World War II he was stationed in Europe in 1944-45.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, football, listening to music and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Enid Connelly; two daughters, Sheila and Sharon; and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Barbara L. Durant

HAMPTON - Barbara L. Durant, 68, of 235 Drakeside Road, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at her home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Newburyport, Mass., the daughter of the late Fred J. Sweeney and Marion (Merrill) Sweeney Vovos.

She was a 1952 graduate of Newburyport High School.

Mrs. Durant was a cook manager for the Hampton schools food and nutrition program at Center School. She had previously worked in the cafeteria at Winnacunnet High School. She retired in the spring of 2002 after 25 years of service.

She was an active member of Hampton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club. She was a member of the New Hampshire School Food Service Association and was past president of its East Chapter. She was the recipient of the Silver Medal National Championship Award from the American Culinary Federation in 1995.

She was a Cub Scout den mother and was past president of the former Hampton Mothers Circle.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, took an interest in the students she met at school, enjoyed walking on the beach, the mountains and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arthur W. Durant; one daughter, Susan J. Faro of Hampton; two sons, James H. Durant of Lee and Kevin S. Durant and his wife Deanne of Hampton; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; her stepfather, Nick Vovos of Salisbury, Mass.; one brother, Ralph Sweeney of Salisbury; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by one grandson, Clinton J. Durant, who died in 1987.

Funeral services were held Monday in Hampton United Methodist Church, Hampton. Memorial donations may be made to Hampton United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02116.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Alfred G. Eaton

RAYMOND - Alfred George Eaton, 56, of Ham Road, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at his home.

He was born in North Conway the son of Lauretta (Jones) Eaton of Exeter and the late George Eaton.

Mr. Eaton was a lumberjack for the Abernaque Timber Co. for many years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Jammie Eaton of Exeter; five brothers, Alphonse Eaton and John Eaton, both of Northwood, Calvin Eaton of Kingston, Mayhew Eaton of West Epping and Thomas Eaton of Barrington; eight sisters, Minnie Ellison of Maine, Linda Cumming of Rochester, Rita Davis of Tampa, Fla., Pauline Brown of Intercession City, Fla., Mary Elliott of Raymond, Janet Lashomb of Exeter, Beatrice Lebeau of Newmarket and Karen Eaton of West Epping; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.

Geary A. Hurd

HAMPTON - Geary A. Hurd, 76, of 3 Old Stage Road, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born Nov. 26, 1925, in his residence, the son of the late Leander G. and Flora Belle (Johnson) Hurd, and was a lifelong resident of Hampton.

He was a 1943 graduate of Hampton Academy.

MR. HURD OPERATED THE LAST DAIRY FARM IN TOWN, A BUSINESS STARTED BY HIS FATHER AND CONTINUES WITH HIS SONS.

He was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church; a 50-year member of Star in the East Lodge No. 59 of Exeter; and past chairman of the Rockingham County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gwen (Remal) Hurd; two sons, Steven Hurd and his wife Sheryl, and Kevin Hurd, all of Hampton; two granddaughters; and several cousins.

Services were held Monday in Hampton United Methodist Church. Private burial will be in High Street Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hampton United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842 or to Seacoast Visiting Nurse Association, 29 Lafayette Road, No. Hampton, NH 03862.

Carl H. Ronnquist

FARMINGTON - Carl H. Ronnquist, 65, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, in Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

He was born July 20, 1937, in Beverly, Mass., the son of the late Paul and Grace (Rowe) Ronnquist. He had resided in Kingston for many years and in Florida before moving to Farmington two years ago.

Mr. Ronnquist was employed by Wells Fargo in Kingston for many years and in their security department in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. (Barrett) Ronnquist of Farmington; three sons, Leon Croteau of Tennessee, Jeff Ronnquist of Rochester and Gregg Croteau of Hampton; three daughters, Laura Grant of Farmington, Melissa Pauley of Florida and Carla Ronnquist of Greenland; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Malcolm Ronnquist of Otis, Maine; his stepmother, Ruth Ronnquist of York, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of N.H., 9 Cedarwood Drive, Unit 12, Bedford, NH 03110

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Ronald R. Gardner

RAYMOND - Ronald R. Gardner, 57, of Langford Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Exeter, the son of the late Felix and Irene (Higgins) Gardner.

Mr. Gardner was a truck driver for Geralco Corp. He had previously been employed by Galloway Trucking, Cole Brothers, Grant’s Towing, Beck Developers and Patterson Paving.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and four wheeling.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marjorie (Haas) Gardner of Raymond; four sons, Ronald Gardner Jr., Matt Gardner and Michael Gardner, all of Raymond and Marc Gardner of Peabody, Mass.; three daughters, Theresa Perry and Lisa Gardner, both of Salem, Mass., and Amber Gardner of Raymond; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Bion Gardner, Felix Gardner and Junior Gardner, all of Deerfield and his twin, Richard Gardner of Northwood; three sisters, Bev Shepard of Deerfield, Pearl Demyanovich of Conway and Lillian Oldham.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Earl Gardner, and one sister, Wanita Wormsley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery, Deerfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack St., Suite 1, Manchester, NH 03101-2244.

Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.

Wendy Keelan

NEWMARKET - Wendy Keelan, 73, of Lamprey River Park, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover.

She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Killingly, Conn., the daughter of Henry and Laura (Bisson) Kerouack. She resided in Homestead, Fla., before to moving to Newmarket in 1991.

Mrs. Keelan was employed by Ames Department Store in Stratham. She was previously a nurse’s aide at Mansfield State Training School, Mansfield, Conn., for 17 years.

While living in Connecticut she raised children placed in her foster care and was involved in cub scouting.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and knitting.

The widow of Kent Keelan, who died in 1991, she is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Paula Keelan of Killingly, Allen and Debbie Saucier of Newmarket and William Bell of Columbia, Conn.; five grandchildren; one brother, Donat Kerouack of Melbourne, Fla.; one niece and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket, with the Rev. David Wuori officiating. Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to The Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, 789 Central Ave., Dover, NH 03820.

Naomi E. Moss

EXETER - Naomi E. Moss, 97, of 8 Hampton Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Exeter.

She was born Sept. 15, 1905, in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late George and Florence (Bonnor) Milley. She was raised in Canada and resided in Wakefield and Malden, Mass., for many years before retiring to Seabrook in 1970. She moved to Exeter nine years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice Frongillo of North Hampton and Miriam Smith of Mystic, Conn.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services and burial will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, Mass.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
