Lois M. Gardner Howarth, 70, of
Fanwood died on Friday, December 4, 1998
at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center
in Edison.
Born in Cranford, Mrs. Howarth
had lived in Westfield before moving
to Fanwood 41 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Howarth was a member of the
Garwood Presbyterian Church in
Garwood and of the North Central
Jersey Exxon Annuitants Club.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Wesley W. Howarth, in February of 1997,
and by her brother, William C. Gardner.
Surviving are a daughter, Debra L.
Howarth of North Brunswick and a
brother, Robert K. Gardner of Destin,
Florida.
Graveside services were held yesterday,
Wednesday, December 9, at
Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements were under the direction
of the Memorial Funeral Home,
155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
Memorial donations may be made
to the American Heart Association.

Virginia Rimback, 72
Choir Director; Was Pianist and Soloist for Church
Virginia R. Rimback, 72, of
Westfield died Thursday, December 3, 1998
in Morristown Memorial Hospital in
Morristown.
Born in Nashua, New Hampshire,
she had lived in North Plainfield before
moving to Westfield 35 years ago.
She was a graduate of Providence
Bible College in Providence, Rhode
Island.
Mrs. Rimback was a homemaker.
She was a pianist, soloist, and former
choir director at Hydewood Park Baptist
Church in North Plainfield.
Surviving are her husband, William
E. Rimback; two daughters, Karen Jean
Schlier of Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania
and Kathy-Jo Newell of Clark; her
mother, Jean Rimback of Westfield;
and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Monday,
December 7, at the Hydewood Park
Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements were handled
by Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South
Avenue in Fanwood.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Mission Fund of Hydewood
Park Baptist Church.

Edward Zaremski, 32
Edward Zaremski, 32, of Scotch
Plains died on Saturday, December 5, 1998
at home.
Born in Brooklyn, he moved to
Scotch Plains in 1983.
Mr. Zaremski was an administrative
assistant for the Solomon Schechter
Day School in Cranford for the past
two years.
Surviving are his wife, Dorcese
Zaremski; a daughter, Nichole
Zaremski; his mother, Diane Vicinansa
Metzger; his stepfather, Walter
Metzger, and his father, Edward S.
Zaremski.
Funeral services were held yesterday,
Wednesday, December 9, at the
Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Kevin Murphy, 43
Was Police Sergeant With Port Authority at Newark Airport
Kevin Francis Murphy, 43, of
Mountainside, died Monday, December 7, 1998 at home.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in
Roselle Park before moving to
Mountainside six years ago.
He graduated from Kean University
in Union with a degree in criminal
justice and had been working on a
master’s degree in public administration
at Rutgers University in New
Brunswick.
Mr. Murphy was a Police Sergeant
with the Port Authority at Newark
Airport for 18 years.
He was a member of the Sergeants
Benevolent Association.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years,
Carol Murphy; a son, Ryan Murphy; a
daughter, Shannon Murphy; his parents,
Francis and Audrey Murphy; two
brothers, Kenneth Murphy and
Terrence Murphy, and two sisters,
Marlene Kachnowski and Kellyann
Williams.
A Funeral Mass will be offered tomorrow,
Friday, December 11, at 10:30
a.m. in The Church of the Assumption
in Roselle Park.
Funeral arrangements are being
handled by the Higgins and Bonner
Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.

Adelaide F. Eno, 88
Adelaide Florence Eno, 88, of
Fanwood died Tuesday, December 1, 1998
at Country Meadows of York in York,
Pennsylvania.
Born in Chicago, she had lived in
Millburn and Fanwood for 30 years.
Mrs. Eno was a member of the
Harlow Family Association in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert C. Eno, in 1984; and a
daughter, Florence Adelaide Foster, in
1973.
Surviving are a sister, Beverley
Johnson of Hadley, New York; a
brother, Jack Harlow of Boise, Idaho;
three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 5, at Memorial Funeral
Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.

Mieczyslaw Mundziakiewicz, 90
Mieczyslaw Mundziakiewicz, 90, of Westfield
died on Sunday, November 22, 1998 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Poland, he had lived in Newark before moving to Westfield 25
years ago.
Mr. Mundziakiewicz had been the
owner of the Mundziakiewicz Butcher
Shop in Newark for 25 years before
retiring 20 years ago.
A Polish Army veteran of World
War II, he was one of the first Allied
soldiers to conquer and take command
of Abbey of Monte Cassino in Italy in
1944.
He was a member of the Polish
Veterans of World War II Post No. 35
in Newark, and the Polish National
Alliance in Irvington.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie
Mundziakiewicz; two daughters,
Christine Kozlowski and Basia Duris;
a sister, Bronislawa Kucher; two brothers,
Kazimierz Mundziakiewicz and
Stanislaw Mundziakiewicz, and four
grandchildren.
A Mass was offered on Saturday,
November 28, in St. Stanislaw Church
in Newark following the funeral from
the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home
of Clark.
