WANGSTROM, CLARISSA, (nee SAYRES), 89 - of Millville, died Saturday afternoon at South Jersey Hospital-Newcomb after an extended illness.
She was born in Millville and was a life long Millville resident.
She was a saleslady for Kings Department Store in Vineland, and retired from there. Prior to that, she worked for Giuffra Candies, Millville Manufacturing Company, and Wheaton Glass Company.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church of Millville. She was a member of the Cerebral Palsy Association, where she did volunteer work, and a member of the Cedar View Court Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts.
She is survived by two sons, Robert R. Wangstrom and his wife Bernice of Millville, and James P. Wangstrom and his wife Patricia of Shiloh; one brother, William Sayres of Marlton; one sister Elizabeth Reeves of Millville; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1974, and a son William.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. There will be a viewing Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Millville.

SERRI, MARY PASQUARELLA, 91 - of Smithville, Galloway Township, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at her home. She had been a Iong-time resident of Merchantville and Margate. Mrs. Serri was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in mathematics. She is predeceased by Dr. William S. Serri, a family physician in Camden and Gloucester Counties, her son, William S. Serri, Jr. and her sister, Rose Stone. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Louise Johnson of Rye, NY and Stephanie S. Schultz of Woodbury; her sisters, Phyllis Ciaroi of Newtown Square, PA and Mildred Ardito of Smithville. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church in Haddonfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2004, with private burial to follow at Holy Cross cemetery, Yeadon, PA.

HOOYMAN, NANCY (NEE GALLAGHER), 49 - of North Cape May, passed away Saturday, January 31, at Burdette Tomlin Hospital in Cape May Court House.
Nancy was born to Marie and the late Thomas Gallagher in Newark, and has lived in North Cape for 27 years. She graduated from Manasquan High School, and received her BA degree in elementary education from Georgian Court College.
Mrs. Hooyman was a dedicated employee in the Lower Township Elementary School district for the past 17 years as a first grade teacher and currently a pre-school teacher at the Memorial School. Prior to her tenure at Lower Township Elementary, the many children who attended Potpourri classes in Cape May fondly knew her as "Miss Nancy." She also taught at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cape May.
Nancy was a member of St. John of God Church and a Eucharistic minister. Mrs. Hooyman was a member of the Cape May County Pre-Cana team for the Camden Diocese. She was a member and the co-chair of the literacy committee of the Delta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Professional teachers' organization and the incoming vice president for that Chapter. Nancy was a member of the Lower Township Teachers Association, Republican Committee Woman for Ward 3 (against her daughters wishes), member of CAPE and the Red Hat Society, and a former CCD teacher and youth group leader. Nancy was a donor to the Gift of Life.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Richard and devoted daughter Jennifer; her mother Marie Gallagher of Manasquan; her sisters: Marianne Caci of Brielle; Maureen Prevosnak, Clinton Township; Gigi Sharon, Point Pleasant; Carol Prevosnak, Westfield; her brothers: Thomas Gallagher, Pawtucket, RI; Michael Gallagher, Ocean Township; Matthew Gallagher, Manasquan, and nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many friends.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday at St. John of God Church in Cold Spring from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at St. John of God Church on Townbank Road, Cold Spring at 2:30 p.m. Friends may pay their respect from 1:00 to 2:30 at the church. Interment will follow the service at Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery on Seashore Road.
Nancy devoted her life to children, and the family suggests that those who desire to send memorial contributions do so in Nancy's name for playground equipment at the Memorial School. They may be sent to Board of Education Office, 834 Seashore Road, Cape May, New Jersey 08204. Evoy Funeral Home.

SCARDINO, ELEANOR J. (NEE CRAMER) 76 - of Hammonton, died Sunday at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Millville she was a Hammonton resident for sixty five years. Before retiring in 1986 Mrs. Scardino worked as a service assistant for New Jersey Bell Telephone in Hammonton, and Berlin, and for AT & T. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Scardino was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and going to the casinos. She was predeceased by her son: Carl F. Scardino, Jr. She is survived by her husband: Carl F. Scardino, two sons and their wives: John and Karen Scardino, David and Cathy Scardino all of Hammonton, three daughters and their husbands: Joann and Tom Dixon and Diane and Randy Latko all of Hammonton, Debbie and John Puleo of Rosedale, her daughter in law: Judy Scardino of Hammonton, nine grandchildren: Kristen Scardino, Jonelle Scardino, John Scardino, Jr., Anella Scardino, Catie Scardino, Virginia Scardino, Brian Dixon, Jaclyn Scardino and Lindsay Latko, two brothers and their wives: Rodney and Rita Cramer of Hammonton, Robert and Brenda Cramer of Devonshire, one sister and her husband: Donna and Vincent Scardino of Hammonton, her special niece and nephew: Susan Ruggeri and Michael Scardino. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where a viewing will be held after 8:30am. MYERS, CHARLES MERLE, 90 - of Hammonton, passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 31, 2004. Born in Hammonton, he was a life long resident. He graduated from Hammonton High School Class of 1930. Mr. Myers retired in 1968 as a Detective Sergeant First Class in the New Jersey State Police after 38 years of service. He was a former member of the New Jersey State Troopers Assn., and a member of the M.B. Taylor F. & A. M. Lodge #141 of Hammonton. He also was the former owner of the Ace Campgrounds in Nesco. Predeceased by his wife Pearl and sister Ethel Daneker, he is survived by two daughters, Judith & husband John Crescenzo, Mays Landing, and Ellen Eiello, Hammonton; a son, John, Hammonton, and step-son, William Sampson & wife Jennie, Hammonton; two brothers, Herbert & his wife June, Hammonton and James E. Jr., Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Daniel Crescenzo, Bonnie Mathes, Lori Amos, Ed Aiello, Jessica & John J. Myers, William Sampson Jr.; also four great grandchildren; and his dedicated caregiver, Phyllis Hunter of Hammonton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Landolfi Funeral Home, 237 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton. Rev. Jeanette Block officiating of the Nesco New Columbia United Methodist Church. Viewing from 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial, Greenmount cemetery, Hammonton.

WEALES, WILLIAM (Poppy), 82 - of Linwood, passed away at home, January 28, 2004. William was born in Connersville, Indiana and moved to Linwood in 1952. He served six years in the United States Navy, WWII 1941-1947. He retired from the F.A.A. Administration at NAFEC, where hew worked as an Electronic Technician for the Aircraft and Airport Safety Division in 1977 after 25 years.
William and his wife, Helen (nee Heinlein), just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in September. He enjoyed decoy carving and creating beautiful furniture. He will also be remembered as a loving husband and doting father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; his two daughters, Vicky Hall and Jennifer and her husband, Robert McGuirl; his sister, Sally Clyde of Valrico, Florida; and his brother, Gerald Weales of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Seaville United Methodist Church, Shore Rd, Seaville where the family will great friends from 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in William's memory be made to the Linwood Public Library, 301 Davis Avenue, Linwood, NJ 08221. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dinan Funeral Home Ocean View.

RICCIO, ANTHONY R., 78 - of West Atlantic City, died suddenly on Thursday, January 29, 2004, at the Atlantic City Medical Center.
Born and raised in Atlantic City, Mr. Riccio had lived in West Atlantic City of the past 33 years. He was a retired Plumber after 50 years and a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Union, Local 322. An excellent plumbing mechanic, Mr. Riccio was also a talented and accomplished musician and member of the Atlantic City Musicians Union, Local 661-708. He loved music, any music, especially his own. He played well, the organ, piano, guitar, banjo, accordion and harmonicas, to name a few.
Along with the plumbers and musicians union, Mr. Riccio was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, West Atlantic City Post and charter member of the old Atlantic City Mummers Group.
He was a Veteran, having served in the US Navy during WWII.
Mr. Riccio is predeceased by his brother Frank Rich. Surviving him are; his wife of 35 years, Antoinette Forgash Riccio of West Atlantic City, three sons, Anthony Riccio Jr. and wife Patricia of New Castle, DE., Ron Riccio and wife Annette of Smithville and Dennis Riccio and wife Roberta of Wilmington, DE., his daughter Rosemary Vazquez and husband Felix of Pleasantville, 13 grand children and four great-grandchildren, two brothers; Joseph Rich of Atlantic City and Liber Rich and wife Rosalee of Margate, two sisters; Marie Ireland of Pomona and Drizzy Riffle and husband John of Utah and Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass for Mr. Riccio will be Celebrated 10:30am Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at St. Peters Catholic Church 25 West Verona Avenue, Pleasantville. Friends may call from 9:30 am at the Church. Mr. Riccio's family would appreciate donations in his memory be made to: The National Heart Association, 73209 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75321 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home 2706 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City.

TRACY, DOLORES P., 74 - of North Wildwood, passed away Sunday at Victoria Manor Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia, PA., she has been a local resident for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Tracy was retired from the Gazette Leader Newspaper in Wildwood.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert and son James.
She is survived by: six children: Patricia, Robert, Jr., John, Thomas, Christopher and Kelly, one brother, Sonny McQuaid, one sister, Anita Turner, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 am at the Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave., North Wildwood, where friends may call from 10 am. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Middle Township.

MICHAEL, CAROLYN ANN 56 - of Union Bridge, died Sunday, February 1, at her home after an extended illness.
Born November 8, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of the late Warren E. and Josephine Otto Kay. She was the wife of the Rev. Richard l. Michael, her husband of 34 years. Mrs. Michael was a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg State College, where she also received her master's degree in 1972. she was employed as an elementary teacher with the Gettysburg, PA., school system for four years and then with the Carroll County Board of Education, where she most recently taught at Runnymede Elementary and prior to that at Uniontown Elementary. Mrs. Michael was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for a number of years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Union Bridge, where she had served as chairman of the worship committee for a number of years. For several years she also was the organist/choir director at both St. James and Mount Union Lutheran Churches, near Union Bridge, her husband's charges. She taught for the Union Bridge Community Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also a member of Carroll County Teachers Association, Maryland State Teachers Association, and National Education Association. She was avid reader and enjoyed history, camping, traveling and spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jennifer Michael of Randallstown and Tiffany Michael of Union Bridge; one son, Thomas Michael of Chevy Chase; one granddaughter, Anastasia Farley; and one brother, W. David Kay of Urbana, IL.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7. at Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, Main and Church Streets. Officiating will be the Bishop H. Gerard Knoche, Bishop of the Delaware-Maryland Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Churches and her husband's Lutheran colleagues serving the Westminster conference. Interment will be in Mount Union cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, Thursday, February 5. from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, February 6. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, P.O. McNALLY, JR., JAMES T., 61 - of Manahawkin, passed away Saturday at Southern Ocean Co. Hospital, Manahawkin.
Born in Jersey City and lived in Barnegat before moving to Manahawkin seven years ago. Mr. McNally was a driver for Shop Rite in Elizabeth for 20 years until 1983, a U.S. Army Veteran, former coach Barnegat Soccer, Trustee American Legion Post 232 Barnegat.
Surviving are his wife Marlene Henderson McNally of 34 years; one son, James T. III of Manahawkin; three daughters, Debora McNally, Donna McNally, and Lisa McNally all of Manahawkin; one brother, Dennis of Egg Harbor City; two grandchildren, Shayla and Matthew; and two sisters, Eileen Bibber of New Mexico and Sharon Hellwig of Barnegat.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 9 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Barnegat. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will follow at NJ Veterans cemetery Arneytown, NJ. Arrangements by Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin.

KLADZAN, FRANCES, 84 - of Del Haven, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2004. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Born in Harlan, KY., she formerly lived in Newark before moving to this area 15 years ago. She was employed by Federal Pacific Corp. of Newark for 30 years. Mrs. Kladzan attended the First Assembly of God Church of Cape May, American Legion Post #198 of Cape May Court House and V.F.W. Post 5343 of Villas. She enjoyed life. Surviving are two sisters, Ruth Byrd of Orrville, Ohio and Lois Atkins of Matthews, N.C.; a brother, Richard Brock of Warrenton, Oregon; a sister in law, Anna Bocchino of Rio Grande; many nieces and nephews; long time friend, Ted Kotowski of Del Haven; friends Michelle Natale of Villas and her family, Jeffrey, Louis and Nicole and her little dog, Gabby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy J. Kladzan; two brothers, Bill and Jim and a sister Billie. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N. Cape May, where friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 1-3 PM. Burial will be on Thursday at 11 AM at Graceland Mem. Park, Kenilworth.

FREEH, GERTRUDE D., 88 - of Laurel Lake, passed away Sunday morning in South Jersey Hospital-Newcomb after an extended illness.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was raised in Cherry Hill and has been a Millville resident for the past 50 years.
She had worked as a candy coater for Giuffra Candy Cottage in Vineland until her retirement. Prior to that, she had worked as a cashier for Moorestown A and P Supermarket, and as a seamstress for Merchantville Hosiery Mill.
She was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church and A.A.R.P. She volunteered for South Jersey Health System-Millville, and enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and traveling.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth H.; two daughters, April "Carolyn" Moser, and Catherine Freeh, both of Millville.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon in St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 2 Hillcrest Ave., Millville. There will be a viewing Wednesday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Millville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A., Sherman Ave. and Orchard Road, Vineland, NJ 08360, The Humane Society of Atlantic County, 1801 Absecon Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ 08401 or St John Bosco Catholic Church, 2 Hillcrest Ave., Millville, NJ 08332.
