James O. Marino

James O. Marino, 51, of Palmer Twp., died Friday, February 27, 1998 upon arrival at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.

He was a special education teacher at Phillipsburg High School for the past ten years. He served as a substitute teacher at the High School from 1987 to 1988. He also worked for the Youth Advocate Program in Easton for several years.

Born July 8, 1946, he was the son of Madeline Simons Marino of Palmer Twp. and the late Onofrio Marino.

From 1968 to 1971, he was a manager at the former Marino's Tavern in Easton. From 1971 to 1975 he was a loading supervisor and truck driver for the former Trans Jersey Air Freight, Inc. of Phillipsburg. From 1979 to 1981 he was a department manager at K-Mart of Easton. From 1981 to 1983 he was a warehouse manager for Wheel Distributor and Moss Dynamic Engines, also in Easton. 1984 to 1988 he owned and operated the Fine Trim Lawn of Phillipsburg.

He was a graduate of Easton High School and attended Churchman's Business School in Easton from 1975 to 1977 where he studied accounting. He also attended the East Stoudsburg University. , In 1978 he received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1968 and had received the National Defense Service Medal.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He was a member of the Phillipsburg Education Association and the New Jersey Education Association; the Steel City Gun Club, Freemansburg, the Young Republican Club and the Order of Fleas, both in Easton.

He was an avid sportsman and hunter and was a noted basketball player at Easton High School. As a teacher at Phillipsburg High School, he enjoyed coaching J.V. Soccer and also active with the Golf League and Ski Club at the school.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Patricia A. Cronin and Pamela J. Bloshuk, both of Palmer Twp.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church, Washington Blvd. at 19th St, Wilson Boro. Burial will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Calling hours will be held 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions to the James O. Marino Special Education Scholarship Fund, c/o the funeral home, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

Faust Marzuoli
Faust Marzuoli, 94, of the Care Center of Lopatcong, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Monday, March 3, 1997 in Warren Hospital where he was a patient for the past three weeks.

He was a rigger for the Turbo Division of Ingersoll-Rand Company, Phillipsburg, for 38 years, retiring in 1967.

Born March 17, 1902 in Citta St. Angelo, Abbruzzi, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Loretta Di Tizio Marzuoli.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, Local 5503, Phillipsburg.

He was an quote pitcher for the Ingersoll-Rand and Pioneer Teams.

He was a charter member of the Italian American Pleasure Club, Phillipsburg and a life member of both the Young Men Italian American Club, Phillipsburg and the Easton Moose. He was also involved in the contruction of the Lincoln Fire House in Phillipsburg.

His wife, the former Mary Di Giacomo died March 17, 1996.

He is survived by two sons Thomas and Robert J., both of Phillipsburg, and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Fred, Tony and Philip and one sister, Carmine Castellano all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ. A calling hour will be held from 8:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home on Friday.

Mary Marzuoli

Mary Marzuoli, 91, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, March 17, 1996 in the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Twp., where she was a guest for three years.

She had worked as a knitter for nine years for the former Chipman Knitting Mills in West Easton.

Born July 11, 1904 in San Angelo, Abbruzzi, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Adaline Di Giacomo.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She was also a former member of the Lincoln Engine Company Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Italian American Pleasure Club Ladies Auxiliary, both located in Phillipsburg.

She and her husband, Faust, also a resident at the Lopatcong Care Center, observed their 68th wedding anniversary last September 4th.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two sons, Thomas and Robert J., both of Phillipsburg and one sister, Edith Roth of Easton. One son Maurice, one brother, Pat and one sister Violet, all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Phillipsburg followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:45 AM in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in the Holy Apostle's Mausoleum in St. Philip and St. James cemetery , Greenwich Twp.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, PO Box 215, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

Margaret E. Maxwell

Margaret E. Maxwell, 77, of Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 in Warren Hospital.

Born May 31, 1927 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ralph J. and Elsie Mae Koose Hamilton.

She was a waitress for former Dixie Restraunt and Blue Ribbon Restaurant, both in Easton and the former Wardell in Phillipsburg.

Her husband, the late John E. Maxwell died in 1994.

Survivors include two sons, John Lindner and Jeffrey Kraus; a daughter, Beverly; two brothers, Lawrence R. of Harmony Twp. and Robert of Phillipsburg; four sisters, Annabel M. Hamilton of Lopatcong Twp., Helen Sauerhoefer of Kissimmee, Fla., Betty Cocco of Wilson Borough and Joan Frye of Aberdine, MD.

Services will be private. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.

Walter Allen McCargo, Jr.

Walter Allen McCargo, Jr., 40, of Phillipsburg, formerly of Jersey City, NJ, died Saturday, July 11, 1998 in his home.

He was a former security guard for Wells Fargo Guard Services in Allentown, PA.

Born December 2, 1957 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Lola Garvin McCargo, Sr.

He was a member of the Open Bible Evangelical Church of God in Christ Church, Easton.

He and his wife, the former Gladys Brown observed their twelfth wedding anniversary May 3.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Walter A. III and Jonathan McCargo, at home and two daughters, Natasha and Nicole Carter, both of Jersey City, NJ.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 1998 in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Phillipsburg cemetery , Filmore St., Phillipsburg. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.

Walter C. McConnell, Sr.

Walter C. McConnell, Sr., 64, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, January 17, 2002 in Warren Hospital.

He was a retired van driver for Warren County Senior Citizen Program.

Born July 26, 1937 in Newton, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Emma Anna Carry McConnell.

He was a Nascar and stock car racing enthusiast.

His wife, the former Ruth Ann Norman died in 1979.

Survivors include a son, Walter C., Jr. of Phillipsburg, Joseph of Harrisburg and Charles; a step-daughter, Joann Norman of the Poconos, a sister, Shirley DiMaio of Hackettstown; five step-grandchildren and two step-great granchildren. A brother Albert and a sister Betty Jane Bangs both died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A calling hour will be held from Noon until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Beatrice R. McEnroe

Beatrice R. McEnroe, 82, of the Care Center of Lopatcong, formerly of the O'Donnell Apartments, Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 in the Center.

She was an assembler for J. Rudolph Co., Inc. of Easton and previously worked for Transogram in Easton as a supervisor.

Born May 29, 1916 in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Josephine Rumore Marino, Sr.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. She was also a member of the O'Donnell Apartments Social Club.

Her husband, the late Hugh J. McEnroe died in 1980.

She is survived by three brothers, Joseph A. of Easton, Santo A. of Lopatcong Twp., and Alfonso, Jr., of Alpha; three sisters, Nellie A. Piazza of Bethlehem Twp., Ann C. Chisesi of Easton and Mary A. Kinsey of Bethlehem and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Peter and Onofrio both died earlier.

Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery , Greenwich Twp., NJ. A calling hour will be held from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contribution to the James O. Marino Special Education Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

David W. McKenna, Sr.

David W. McKenna, Sr., 52, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 in his home.

He was a baker at several area restaurants and bakeries. He last worked for Larry Holmes' Commodore Inn in Pohatcong Twp.

Born May 8, 1948 in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of Ann McKenna and the late Robert F. McKenna.

He was an artist, master craftsman and enjoyed making intricate carvings using various materials. He enjoyed collecting and reading books on tall clipper ships.

He and his wife, the former Katherine D. Hessek observed their twenty-seventh wedding anniversary last December 22.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, David W., Jr., Robert F., John P. and Jacob W.; a daughter, Jessica Ann; three grandchildren, Ricardo Rodriguez, Tiffany McKenna and Justin McKenna, all of Phillipsburg and a sister, Nancy Richmond of Arizona.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Rev. Jack Roan of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church will officiate the services. A calling hour will be held Friday from 6:00 p.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.

The family will accept memorial contributions sent to them in care of the funeral home.

Georgia R. McPeek

Georgia R. McPeek, 77, of the O'Donnell Apartments in Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, March 19, 1996 in Easton Hospital.

Born February 17, 1919 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Dalrymple Kichline.

She was a member of the O'Donnell Apartment Tenants Association.

Her husband, Elmer N., died in 1972.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Kish of Easton; one daughter, Mary Ann Bacskai of Palmer Twp.; one brother, Alfred of Wind Gap; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Ella Hiler, Anna Kichline and Esther Kelly all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 So. Main St., Phillipsburg. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Easton cemetery.

Dorothy G. (Jones) McQuaid

Dorothy G. (Jones) McQuaid, 87, of Bloomsbury, N.J., died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 in her home.

She had worked in the shipping department of Koh-I-Noor in Bloomsbury.

Born November 11, 1915 in Irvington, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Erwin W., Sr., and Carrie V. (Becker) Jones.

She was a member of the Bloomsbury Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. Women's Club of the church.

She was a former member of the Bloomsbury Hose Ladies Auxiliary, a former member of the Bloomsbury P.T.A. and was formerly active in the SHARE Food Program in Bloomsbury.

She and her husband, George A. McQuaid, Sr., observed their sixty-eighth wedding anniversary on September 9, 2002.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, George A. McQuaid, Jr. and a daughter, Alice J. Stone, both of Bloomsbury; three brothers, William of White Township, N.J., Erwin, Jr. of Stewartsville, N.J. and Philip of Milford, N.J.; a sister, Evelyn Peterman of Bloomsbury; four grandchildren, Brian McQuaid, Missy Urban, Rhonda Stone and Cynthia Durholz; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Urban, Hiliary Frankenfield, Andrew Durholtz and Tammy and Kelly McQuaid. Four brothers, Wilbur, Lester, Harry and Roy and two sisters, Ruth Burd and Florence Wolverton all died earlier.

Cremation will be private. There will be no visitation. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements. Burial will be announced at a later date.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Dr., Flemington, N.J. 08822.

George A. McQuaid, Jr.

George A. McQuaid, Jr., 64, of Bloomsbury, NJ, died peacefully Monday, May 12, 2003 in his home.

He was machinist at Bell and Howell in Allentown for 10 years, retiring in 2001. He previously worked for F.L. Smidth in Lebanon, NJ for 25 years and for Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg.

Born July 21, 1938 in Bloomsbury, he was the son of George A., Sr., of Bloomsbury and the late Dorothy G. (Jones) McQuaid.

He was a member of the Bloomsbury United Methodist Church.

He will be remembered for his love of his family, hunting, fishing and boating. He enjoyed touring in his R.V. and collecting guns.

He was a member of the Tuckerton Seaport Museum in Tuckerton, N.J. and the Bloomsbury Rod and Gun Club.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a son, Brian K. of Bloomsbury; a daughter, Michelle "Missy" D. Urban of Hampton, NJ; a sister, Alice J. Stone, of Bloomsbury, three granddaughters, Tammy and Kelly McQuaid and Samantha Urban and a companion, Cecelia "Pat" McKenna, of Jim Thorpe, PA.

Services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
