Joseph Colaneri

PALISADES PARK — Joseph Colaneri, 84, of Palisades Park and Lake Owassa, died on Saturday, June 23, 2007.

He was the beloved husband of Louise (Callahan); the dear father of Jaqueline Untig, Joseph Jr. and James Colaneri; proud grandfather of Adria and James Untig. He was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Rose Cerio and Marie Buscavage.

Mr. Colaneri attended Texas A & M before being called to active duty during World War II. He attended Bergen Community College and graduated from Newark State College. He later received a masters from Seton Hall University. He taught for over 40 years in the Hoboken school system, where he also served as a guidance counselor and director of Career Education. He was an adjunct professor of Jersey City State College. He was past president of the Palisades Park Board of Education, Lake Owassa Community Association, H.E.A.R.T.S, and the Palisades Park Homeowners Association. He was a member of N.J.E.A. and the Hoboken's Teacher Association, and a charter member of the Fairview American Legion Post 365.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main St. (opposite the Fort Lee Library), Fort Lee. The funeral will leave Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for the celebration of his funeral mass in St. Nicholas R.C. Church at 11 a.m.

Ingeborg M. Norman

JEFFERSON — Ingeborg M. Norman, a 55-year resident of the Milton section of Jefferson, died on June 24, 2007, at Saint Clare's Hospital, Dover. She was 76.

She was born on July 13, 1930 in Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Hugo and Engel Geisler Cord.

Mrs. Norman is survived by her husband, Maynard, of Milton; a son, Maynard J. Norman of Montgomery, Texas; two daughters, Catherine Cymbala of Somerville and Vicki Kulik of Milton. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Stickle Memorial Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland. A funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday during visiting hours. There will be a private cremation.

Memorial donations may be sent to American Diabetes Association or Milton First Aid Squad. Arrangements are under the direction of Vander Plaat-Stickle Memorial Home, Newfoundland.

Dennis J. Smith

WANTAGE — Dennis J. Smith, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Saint Clare's Hospital in Sussex.

Born in Newton to Donald and Lois Smith, he was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. Mr. Smith was a self-employed mason contractor in Wantage, owning and operating Dennis Smith Masonry.

For over 10 years, he was a coach for High Point Midget Football and had served as vice president of the Sussex-Wantage Wrestling Club, where he also volunteered for more than three years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Christine; two sons, Christopher and William, at home; his daughter, Nicole, at home; his parents, Donald and Lois Smith of Andover Borough; two brothers, Terry "Butch" of Dingman's Ferry, Pa. and Donald Smith of Bushkill, Pa.; four sisters, Diane McAllister of Lakeville, Pa., Donna Hagan of Dingman's Ferry, Pa., Joanne Smith of Newton and Vicki Murray of Dingman's Ferry, Pa.; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Clove cemetery in Wantage. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The family requests that memorial donations may be made to High Point Junior Wildcats Wrestling, 188 County Road 628, Wantage, NJ 07461.

Gordon R. Terhune

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Gordon R. Terhune, 79, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at his daughter's home in Vernon. Mr. Terhune was born on June 5, 1928 in Hackensack, the son of William and Jula Coyman Terhune. He resided in Park Ridge before moving to Las Vegas 16 years ago.

Mr. Terhune was a salesman for Levitz Furniture in Paramus. He was also a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Mr. Terhune is survived by his wife, Helen (Struckmann) Terhune; a son, Gordon Terhune of Sparta; four daughters, Nancy Stanley of Wurtsboro, N.Y., Sandra Myzak of Vernon, Carolyn Ottogalli of Vernon and Shirley Sena of Hamburg; and nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860. Private cremation services are under the direction of the FERGUSON - VERNON Funeral Home, 241, Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462.

Floyd L. Vealey

MANSFIELD, Ohio — Floyd L. Vealey, 67, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Mifflin Care Center, after a brief illness. He was born Oct., 14, 1939 in Franklin.

He was the son of Perrey and Dorothy Vealey. He retired from Hy Grade Beverage as a driver after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Vealey; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephan and Amy Vealey, of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and John Traub and Kathleen and Richard Burns, all of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Christopher and Adam Vealey, both of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother and Sister - in-law, Paul and Carol Vealey of North Carolina; and a sister, Janet Wottle of Canton, Ohio.

Condolences can be sent to his wife and family at 119 Chestnut Ct., Mansfield, Ohio 44906.

Frances M. Ryan

HARDYSTON — Frances M. Ryan, 85, of Hardyston, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007. She was born and raised in Manhattan and later raised her family in Closter. She moved to Hardyston in 2000. Mrs. Ryan was a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Hamburg.

Mrs. Ryan enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William, in 1967; her beloved son, William Joseph, in 1998; two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Ryan leaves behind her devoted son, Charles Ryan and his wife, Elyse, of Hardyston; two cherished grandchildren, Kathryn and Daniel; three precious great- grandchildren, Kyle, Adeline and Grace.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Hamburg. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery, Tenafly.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Ryan's memory to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or to the American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.

Clifford J. Cuneo

STUART, FL - Clifford J. Cuneo, 78, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Martin Memorial South Hospital in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Hasbrouck Heights, Mr. Cuneo lived in the Baleville section of Hampton for 20 years before moving to Branchville, where he lived for 30 years. He moved to Stuart three years ago.

Mr. Cuneo was a mechanic and was the former owner/operator of Cliff's Garage in Branchville for 40 years before his retirement. A licensed pilot, Mr. Cuneo loved to ride motorcycles and owned and drove his own race car.

The son of the late Charles and Mary Cuneo, Mr. Cuneo was predeceased by his wife, Annette, on January 8, 2004. He is survived by six sons, Clifford J. Cuneo, Jr., and his companion, Gerda Lee, of Big Timber, Mont., Michael Cuneo of Ivor, Va., Thomas Cuneo and his wife, Katherine, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., John Cuneo and his fiancιe, Sara P. Smith, of Tucson, Ariz., Stanley Cuneo and his wife, Betsy, of Sandyston, and James Cuneo and his wife, Dawn, of Dingmans Ferry. He is also survived by two sisters, Muriel Puzio of Andover Township and Myrna Kaufman of Martinsville, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. Interment will follow in Branchville cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Jeanne L. Current

NEWTON - Jeanne L. Currant, 76, died at Newton Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2007 from cancer. Her body was donated to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry "Snapper" Current; daughter Carol Brigante Washer; and brother, Carl "Tinker" Lippincott. She is survived by her mother, Ida Lippincott; son David Current and his wife, Denise; daughter Sandra Pittenger and her husband Larry; daughter Betsy Crum and her husband Doug; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and the many children she thought of as grandchildren and her many friends.

She was a lifelong resident of Sussex County and a full time grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the Harmony Hill United Methodist Church of Stillwater, 919 Fairview Lake Road in Stillwater, Family and friends are welcome to celebrate her life at the home of Dave and Denise Current, 955 Fairview Lake Road in Stillwater.

Jasper Haas

VERNON - Jasper Haas, 82, died at Saint Clare's Hospital in Sussex on Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Born in Ogdensburg to the late Angela and Michael Haas, Mr. Haas was a lifelong resident of Sussex County, living in both Hamburg and the McAfee section of Vernon.

Mr. Haas worked for the Ames Rubber Corp. at the Wantage location as Plant Manager for 36 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Haas proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army, attaining the rank of sergeant in the 179th Engineer Combat Battalion. He was honored with four battle stars for action in Europe from Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge. His decorations include the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Haas was a very proud and exempt member of the Hamburg Fire Department since 1949. He was a former police officer in Hamburg, and was a life member of the Police Officers Association of New Jersey, a life member of the Samaritan Masonic Lodge No. 98 F&AM; in Hardyston, and a member of the Tall Cedars of North Jersey No. 37. Mr. Haas enjoyed the sport of golf and summered in the Catskills, where he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Haas is predeceased by five brothers and one sister.

Mr. Haas is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marjorie Haas; one brother, David Haas and his wife Clara of Hamburg; several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the North Hardyston cemetery, Hardyston. Arrangements are under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hamburg Fire Department, P.O. Box 262, Hamburg, NJ 07419.

Anna Kapitko Carter

ARKVILLE, N.Y. — Anna Kapitko Carter, 91, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, at Margaretville Residential Care Center in Margaretville, N.Y., with relatives at her side.

An resident of the Arkville area for most of her life, Mrs. Carter worked as bank teller at the NBT Bank in Margaretville for 20 years, was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Margaretville, the Margaretville Fire Department Auxiliary, and volunteered at Margaretville Memorial Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Carter, in 1995.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Carter Puffer and her husband, Guy, of Andover, and Patricia Sanford and her husband, Robert, of Arkville. She also leaves two grandchildren, Deborah Lynn Puffer of South Portland, Maine, and Kimberly Ann Puffer of Kingston, N.Y., and other relatives in New York state.

A memorial service was held June 22 at Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, with Rev. R. L. Donahue officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Antoni Antoniadis

MIDDLETOWN, NY - Antoni Antoniadis, 41, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Newton. Tony was born January 17, 1966, in Athens, Greece, the son of the late Kyriakos and the late Marina (Vededes) Antoniadis.

He was co-owner of the Goshen Diner, Goshen, N.Y.. Tony was a U.S. Marine.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Rassiga) Antoniadis; three children, Kory, Alliyah, and Kierstin Antoniadis; two sisters, Lisa Tsikolas and Mary Cook; a niece, Marietta Tsikolas; two nephews, Dino Tsikolas and J.R. Cook; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his mother and father.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 29, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, N.Y., with Friar Chris Talleos officiating. Burial will be in Wallkill cemetery, Middletown, N.Y.

Kelley Greer

VERNON — Betty Rae Kelley Greer, 75, died Monday, Marcy 3, 2008, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Warwick, N.Y., after a long illness.

Born to Raymond and Louise Kelley in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she lived in the Bronx before moving to the Highland Lakes section of Vernon in 1964. Mrs. Greer worked as a customer representative for Warwick Valley Telephone in Warwick for many years before retiring in 1993. She was a former member of the Vernon Ambulance Squad, a trustee for the Highland Lakes Country Club, and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Highland Lakes.

Her sister, Rita Kelley, died in 1952.

Mrs. Greer was the beloved wife of Robert Greer Jr. of Highland Lakes; devoted mother of Robert Greer III of Highland Lakes and Mary Louise Sewell of Barry Lakes; and cherished grandmother of Jaclyn, Daniel and Raymond.

Private funeral arrangements were handled by FERGUSON - VERNON Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon.

Memorial gifts to the Vernon Ambulance Squad, P.O. Box 236, Vernon, NJ 07462 would be appreciated.
