CARLOS JUAN "JIMMY" MEDINA, 58, of Albuquerque died Sunday.
He was born in La Junta, Colo. He was a former resident of Roy, Wagon Mound and Cheyenne, Wyo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a private E-1. He earned the Sharpshooter (Rifle M-1) and Expert (Rifle M-14) badges. He worked as a chef for different restaurants. He loved to make Indian arts and crafts and work with beads. He attended the Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eufracio and Arcenia Pacheco.
He is survived by his daughter, Becky Tharp and husband, Justin, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sons, Juan Jose Medina of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Luis Medina and wife, Brenda, of Santa Ana, Calif; stepsons, Jerrie Ramos and wife, Rene and Tarcisio Maldonado and friend Jessica Carabajal, all of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joe Medina, Arturo Pacheco, Cecilio Pacheco, Jose Pacheco, Colorado and Roxanne Pacheco and Joe Medina, all of Loveland, Colo., Paul Medina and wife, Elma, of Denver, Manuel Pacheco of Longmont, Colo., Isaac Pacheco and wife, Patricia of Maxwell; Nina "Mary" Diaz and husband, Jose, of Roy; Maria Elena Crespo and husband, Luis, of Dacona, Colo.; Isabel Pacheco of Milliken, Colo., and Gloria Pacheco of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same church. Cremation will follow with burial at Santa Clara Cemetery at a later date.

MICHAEL P. SMITH, 49, died Sunday in Atlanta.
He was born in Abilene, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Smith of Atlanta; parents, Martion and Quinton Smith of Hightland Haven, Texas; brother, Doran Smith of Herndon, Va.; and children, Jennifer, Jacob and Caitlin, all of Los Alamos.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Los Alamos First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery.

DANNY RAYMOND AGUILAR, 36, of Inglewood, Calif., died June 5.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Michael Aguilar. He is survived by his mother, Elba Coca Romero Aguilar; brothers and sisters, Joseph Viola, Carl and Lori Aguilar, all of El Segundo, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.

BARRY LOUIS BARTHELL, 69, of Tesuque died Saturday at St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Los Angeles to Samuel and Alice Barthell. He came with his parents to Los Alamos in 1947 and later graduated from Los Alamos High School. He married Janet Sue Cain in 1955 and they had three children. He worked at LANL for most of his career and held several patents. He was an avid skier, hiker, and enjoyed training Afghan hounds.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Sue Cain.
He is survived by his second wife, Jolene Barthell of Tesuque; children, Robin and Rod Stothard and Greg Barthell and wife, Judy, all of Los Alamos; Ben Barthell and wife, Marjean, of Bloomington, Minn., and stepdaughyter Paula Jordan LeBlanc of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren and two step-granchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He chose to be cremated and have no funeral. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to the Santa Fe Community Foundation.

CLARA M. BORREGO, 85, of El Guique died Saturday after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delfinio Borrego.
She is survived by her children, Jose E. Borrego and wife, Faustina, of El Guique, Bernie Sanchez, and Richard Borrego, both of Estaca; sister, Bessie Romero of Grand Junction, Colo., eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place and services have been held.

EDITH SUSANNE CASCIANI, 60, of Santa Fe died Saturday.
She was born in York, Pa., to the late George and Nellie Anna La Fontaine. She married Roger Casciani in 1965. She was a graduate of York Suburban High School and a graduate of Penn State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in English in 1965. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed as an English tutor, librarian assistant, elementary school teacher and teacher's aide. She was a partner with many Christian ministries worldwide. She served the Episcopalian church vesting and was an acolyte.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Christian ministry of your choice.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Matt Casciani and wife, Kristin; and Tom Casciani and wife, Catherine; four grandchildren; brother, William H. Long; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service and Holy Eucharist will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at The Church of the Holy Faith, 311 E. Palace Ave, Santa Fe.

CARLOS S. GALLEGOS, 21, of Arroyo Seco died Sunday due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
He attended Pojoaque High School.
He is survived by his parents, Terry and Jeanette Gallegos of Arroyo Seco; brother, Jerry Gallegos of Arroyo Seco; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of De Vargas Funeral Home with the rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Espaņola with burial to follow at San Jose Cemetery in Hernandez.
