SEFERINO RAEL SR., 95, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elena Gallegos Rael; son, Anastacio; parents, Cleofes Rael and Brijida Barros; and brothers and sisters, Rosendo, Candelario, Cleofes, Gregorita and Romana.
He is survived by his children, Griselda Montano and husband Alfonso, and Seferino Rael Jr. and wife Martha, all of Pueblo, Colo., Adina Rivera and husband Amos of Taos, Oralia Fuchida and husband Joe of New Jersey and Eulalia Ortega and wife Orlando of Longmont, Colo.; brother, Carlos Rael and wife Louise of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M., with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

ALFREDO T. GALLEGOS, 94, a longtime resident of San Antonio, N.M., (Uppertown), died Dec. 29 at the Brook Haven Nursing Home.
He was born in Logan, also known as Gallegos Place, on April 1, 1910 to the late Juan B. and Andrellita Gallegos.
He was a truck driver, painter, a man of all trades and a master of many. His two joys were hunting deer in the fall and fishing the rest of the year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his ex-wife Marie Galassi; his son Carlos Gallegos; brothers Eugenio, Simon, Miguel and Mauricio, and a sister, Adela Coleman.
He is survived by his sons John A. Gallegos of Las Vegas, N.M., and Robert L. Gallegos of Modesto, Calif.; daughters Gloria Goodman of Spring Valley, Calif., and Anita L. Rogers of San Jose, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister Viola Lopez of Santa Fe; brother-in-law Benjamin Gallegos of Las Vegas, N.M., and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Jan. 3 at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral services are at 9 a.m. Jan. 4 at the same church, with interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. The family will have a reception immediately after the burial at the Eagles Lodge, 211 South Grand Ave., in Las Vegas, N.M.

JOSE B. MENZOR, 96, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M. since 1970 and formerly of Wagon Mound, died Dec. 30 at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Wagon Mound on April 13, 1908, to the late Eligio Menzor and Ignacita Gallegos. He was united in marriage in Wagon Mound on Nov. 29, 1929 to the late Rafaelita Montoya.
He was a New Mexico Pioneer and as a young man, his hobby was being in rodeos and breaking horses. He enjoyed making miniature furniture, gardening and reading. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association.
A life-long Catholic, he was a member of Immaculate Conception church and a cursillisto through Santa Clara church in Wagon Mound.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, and by son Joe Elias Menzor; sister Frances Aguilar; brothers Martin Menzor and wife Juanita, Sotero Menzor Sr. and wife Margarita and Margarito Menzor; special nephew Sotero Menzor Jr. and nephew Max De Tevis.
He is survived by daughters Adonila "Donna" Menzor and Alice Menzor of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister-in-law Rebecca Menzor of Denver; nephews and nieces Robert Aguilar and wife Mary of Albuquerque, Florence Garcia and husband Frank of Belen; Audilia Trujillo and husband Albert, Nick Menzor and wife Emily, Ben Menzor and wife Shirley, Leroy Menzor and wife Kathy, Carlos Menzor and wife Betty, and Susanna Quintana and husband Richard, all of Denver; Katie Perez and Julia Thiesen, both of Colorado Springs; Dan Menzor and wife Rosie and Eloisa Jaramillo, all of Denver; and Audilia De Tevis of Wagon Mound; and many other relatives and friends as well as his little dog Queena.
Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan 2 at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas, N.M. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 2 at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral Services will be at 9 a.m. Jan. 3 at the same church, with interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound.

ROY WILSON DAVIDSON, 93, of Albuquerque died Wednesday.
He was born in Love, Izard County, Ark., the son of the late William Ransom and Annie Lou Wilson Davidson. He moved to New Mexico when he was 16 years old with his family after the death of his father. During the Depression, he attended school in Carlsbad and Albuquerque while working to support his family. Never graduating from high school, he taught himself to become a bookkeeper and timekeeper for the U.S. Conservation Corporation during the construction of the El Vado Dam in northern New Mexico. He married while living in Carlsbad in 1937, then moved to Raton in 1945, following his tenure of eight years as a deputy collector of the Internal Revenue Service in Albuquerque. He came to Colfax county to work as an accountant/auditor for the Maxwell Farms and Livestock Company where he lobbied to obtain funds to rebuild the water systems for farms on the Maxwell tract. The work resulted in the Vermejo Conservancy District, which has operated successfully for over 40 years. He had been a registered public accountant, president of Raton Finance Company, owner of Davidson Agency, past president of Raton Kiwanis, a 32-degree Mason, member of the United Methodist Church and supporter of the 4-H and Colfax county schools. In 1960, he was elected state representative from Colfax County, serving three terms. From 1971 to 1974, he served as Commissioner of Banking under Gov. Bruce King. He was chairman of the Banks and Corporations committee and member of the Constitutional Revision Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Westal Earl Davidson and William Ransom Davidson, Jr.; and sister, Fannie Louise Davidson Yates.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Catherine Williams Davidson; children, Dorothy Sue Groth of Las Cruces and husband, Eddie; Mary Louise Overpeck of Rockville, Md., John Philip Davidson of Raton and Judy Carol Jones of Tijeras and husband, Larry; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE, Albuquerque with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE, Albuquerque. Donations may be made in his name to charities or organizations of your choice.

LILA LEE GIBBONS of Santa Fe died Wednesday.
She was born in York, Neb. She went to high school in Chicago where she met her soul mate, Jim. Together, they went to college at the University of Iowa and then moved to Detroit and started a family. Because of their love of the mountains, they followed their dreams of raising their children in Aspen, Colo. in 1969. In 1998, they moved to Santa Fe to experience the culture and beauty of the high desert southwest. She was a lover of animals and nature, music and books, and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Randy and wife, Laura; Jill and husband, Ed; Jennifer and partner, Jeff, and Jodi and husband, Clint; and six grandchildren.

TEOFILA LOPEZ, 91, of Santa Fe died Saturday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carpio Lopez; and son, Gene Lopez.
She is survived by her sons, Phil and Jake; daughters, Lita and husband, Carlos Martinez, and Peggy Lopez and companion, Ron Pacheco; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

HERMAN MARQUEZ, 82, of Bernal died Friday at La Vida Encantada Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born in Bernal to the late Jose R. Marquez and Rita Montoya. He was married to the late Justa Dimas in 1948 at the Santa Rita Church in Bernal. He retired in 1987 from the Las Vegas Medical Center where he was employed as an attendant for 26 years. He was formerly employed with AT&SF Railroad. He loved to raise chickens, farm, garden, spend time with his grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Santa Rita Church in Bernal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Justa Marquez; brothers, Aldolpho Marquez, Alberto Marquez, Max Marquez, Reynaldo Marquez and Pablo Marquez; and sisters, Carmen Marquez and Antonia M. Trujillo.
He is survived by his son, Placido J. Marquez and wife, Louise; daughter, Elaine Jaramillo and husband, Anthony, all of Bernal; four grandchildren; sister, Irene Marquez and husband, Eloy Gonzales, of Clovis; brother, Eusebio Marquez and wife, Patsy, of Hereford, Texas; close friends, Margarito Duran and wife, Ernestina, of Albuquerque and Enrique and Judy Estrada of Bernal; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Santa Rita Church in Bernal. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Rita Cemetery.
