DIKRAN KOROGHLIAN, 55, of Santa Fe died July 19 from an accidental fall while descending the north face of Blanca Peak in Colorado. He loved hiking and mountain climbing, and spent most of his free time in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado.
Dikran had a lifelong interest in the spiritual traditions of Zen Buddhism, Sufism and the work of G.I. Gurdjieff. For him, climbing mountains was the unified expression of the inner and outer journeys of life.
Dikran worked as a painting contractor in Santa Fe and many of his clients became his friends, attracted by the great energy and enthusiasm he brought to his work and life interests.
He will be missed by his wife Vivian and sons Matthew and Adam Koroghlian of Santa Fe; his mother, Mary Koroghlian of New Jersey; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Lenore Koroghlian of New Jersey and their family; sister-in-law, Bege Koroghlian of New Jersey and her family; and many other relatives and friends.
Dikran's body has been cremated. A memorial gathering for family was held on August 6 in Alpine, N.J. A memorial in Santa Fe has yet to be arranged.

ANDRONICO "TITO" LOPEZ, 77, of Abiquiu died August 6 after a long illness.
He portrayed Don Juan de Oñate and was a member of the sheriff's posse. He was an avid entertainer. He loved to play guitar and composed his own music. He was a very artistic man who sculpted, painted and was a silversmith. He was a jack of all trades. He was honored as a living legend by the St. Thomas Parish in Abiquiu. He retired from the Zia Company of Los Alamos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Santanita Lopez; sisters, Erminia Sandoval, Belen Trujillo and Sinforosa Abeyta; and brothers, Santiago, Samuel, Emiliano and Elfido Lopez.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lopez of Abiquiu; children, Linda Trujillo and husband Karl of Española, Anita Lopez, and Francis "Kiko" Lopez and wife Kathy, all of Abiquiu, Bertha Lopez y Rael and husband Henry of Albuquerque, and Jose Lopez of Las Cruces; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, August 9 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 at the same church with burial to follow at the Abiquiu Cemetery.

LUCY V. LUNA, 78, of San Pedro died August 6 after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Luna; parents, Maclovio and Frances Velarde; and brother, Leopoldo Velarde.
She is survived by her children, Michael B. Luna and wife Judi of Los Alamos, Danny A. Luna of Albuquerque, Irene Fernandez de Luna and husband Daniel of St. Petersburg, Fla., Carol L. ALEX ELDON MARTINEZ, 69, a former resident of Chama, died August 1in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born to Tomas and Maria de Jesus in Chama. He entered the U.S. Navy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in March of 1967. Having served faithfully and honorably, he retired from the U.S. Navy on January 1, 1984.
He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Minarcin and husband Martin of Las Vegas, Nev. and Kathy Martinez of Northfolk, Va.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Antonia Reese of Louisiana and Francine Drews of Chama; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, August 9 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chama with burial to follow at the Chama Cemetery.

AMADO C. MARTINEZ, 68, of Chimayó died August 6.
He was a corrections officer for the state of New Mexico and a state inspector for the Department of Transportation. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. A farmer, he grew apples and loved to work the land and care for his cattle. He was a husband, father, grandfather and a very easy-going person.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Y. Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Helen P. Martinez of Chimayó; children, Jay O. Martinez and wife Marie and Chuck Martinez, all of Albuquerque, and Darryl Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; mother, Carmelita C. ESPERANSA SANDOVAL, 21, of Santa Fe died August 5.
She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend. She was born in Santa Fe. "SP" was a fun loving spirit. She was employed at the First National Bank of Santa Fe.
