DOLORES MARY HOLGUIN, 63, of Norwalk, Calif., formerly of Santa Fe died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005.
She arrived in Santa Fe last week to attend the baptism of her newest grandchild, David. She attended schools in Santa Fe following her marriage to Victor H. Holguin. The family moved to Norwalk, Calif., where Mr. Holguin operated his own radiator business and Dolores worked as a manager for a Salvation Army thrift store for many years. She was a very active member of the Catholic church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Carlota Lopez; husband, Victor H. Holguin; and sister, Stella Quintana.
She is survived by her children, Victor Holguin, Jr., David Holguin and wife Bernadette, Beatrice Morales and husband Joe, and Ralph Holguin; sisters, Nellie Ortega and husband Silver, Mary Salazar, Geneva Martinez, Priscilla Gallegos and husband Orlando, Joanna Gunter and husband Bill and Crissie Murillo; brothers, Freddy Lopez, Gilbert Lopez and girlfriend Shirley; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass time is still pending. Please contact Berarinelli's Family Funeral Service for time. Burial will take place in California at a later date.

ANN C. KENDALL, 65, of Santa Fe died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005.
She was born in Santa Fe to George and Claribel Croshaw. As a Santa Fe native, Ann graduated from Santa Fe High School and pursued a career in banking. She later lived in California and Denver and recently returned to Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Felix R. Martinez.
She is survived by her children, Felix R. Martinez, Jr., and wife Nicole and Kristin Martinez and husband Adrian Griggs; five grandchildren; and siblings, Peggy Howsmon and husband Randy, Beth Castellano, and George Croshaw and wife Christy.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 410 Rodeo Road. Flowers may be delivered to the church. Burial will be private.
Donations may be made in Ann's name to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd., NE, Ste. 300, Albuquerque, NM, 87111.

ELIZARDO P. MONTOYA, 86, of Truchas died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army for four years and nine months in the European Theater during World War II. He worked at the Capitol for several years, then in Los Alamos for 26 years where he retired in 1987. His hobbies were reading his bible and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esquipula and Dionicia Montoya; brothers, Rosendo, Pablin and Atanacio; and sisters, Constancia, Cleotilde and Florinda. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Hevila; sons, Ray and wife Nila, Mike and wife Darlene and Benjamin and wife Angela; daughter, Dionicia and husband Michael Ortega of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Elefio and Evaristo Montoya; and many other relatives and friends.
Services have taken place with burial at the San Miguel Cemetery in Truchas.

ROSE RUBIO, 85, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at the New Mexico Behavorial Health Institute after a long illness.
She is survived by her brothers, Dan Rubio and Arthur Rubio and wife Celsa, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; special nieces, Louella Rubio of Los Lunas, Karla Rubio, and Marie Tafoya, both of Las Vegas, N.M., Theresa Rubio of Bernalillo, Anna Marie Mc Clellan and husband Billy of Las Cruces, and Jane Marie Rubio of Rifle, Colo.; special nephews, Bobby Rubio of Spokane, Wash., Carlos Martinez and wife Lorraine of Pendaries, Raul Richard Rubio of Las Vegas, N.M., and Enrico Rubio of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with burial to follow in the San Jose Cemetery.

BR. EDMUND THOMAS CURDA, OSB, 58, of Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey, Pecos, died Sept. 6 of head injuries due to a fall down a flight of stairs. He born in Austin to Mary and Robert Curda. Br. Ed attended parochial elementary school in Fort Worth and Cezie High School. He was active in sports, journalism and photography. He was the NHS Chaplin in 1964. He attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, and in 1969 graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a bachelor's degree in English literature. He was active in journalism and was the editor of the yearbook in 1969. Also in 1969 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and did boot camp at Camp Leonard Wood, Mo. He subsequently did OTC at Ft. Belvoir, Va. and MOS intelligence. He later served in South Korea and in Vietnam. He returned to civilian life in 1973. He became a reporter for the Telegram in Temple, Texas, until 1975. Through the GI Bill and and assistantship, he attended the North American College in Washington, D.C. There he was the moderator of the undergraduate yearbook. He obtained his master's degree in political journalism in 1977. Courted by dailies in Washington, D.C., he nevertheless returned to Texas to become a reporter for the El Paso Times for the city beat and politics. He then rose to the New Mexico Desk, editing news for 10 counties in southwest New Mexico. In 1984 he made a retreat at the Pecos Benedictine Monastery. It was then that he found his vocation as a Benedictine Monk. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth. He is survived by his father, Robert B. Curda of Highland Park, Ill.; sisters, Betty Schwartz of Dayton, Minn. and Mary Kay Wallace of Channel View, Texas; brothers, Jerome K. Curda of Weatherford, Texas, and Christopher J. Curda of Fort Worth, close aunts and uncle, Sr. Johanna Doherty of Houston, JoAnn Wallace of Salt Lake City and Donald of Chicago; and many other relatives. A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with a rosary adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Compline recited by the monastic choir at the Church of St. Anthony's in Pecos. MELANIE RHONDA DEAGUERO, 29, of Chimayó died unexpectedly on Aug. 30. She is survived by her mother, Virginia de la Cruz and stepfather, Percy Trujillo of Rio Chiquito; father, Gustavo Beltran and wife Lulie of Santa Fe; sisters, Mabel DeAguero of Española, Karina Trujillo of Rio Chiquito; brother, Walter Trujillo of Rio Chiquito; half-brothers, Aaron, Gustavo, Adrian and Isac Beltran; special nieces and nephew, Kimberly and Mallory Trujillo of Rio Chiquito and Gabriel Trujillo of Española; close uncle, Manuel Martinez and wife Yolanda of El Santuario; boyfriend, Robert Martinez; and many other relatives and friends. SHIRLEY HERRERA, 40, of Santa Fe died Sept. 1.
She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, colleague and friend. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the San Isidro Catholic Church with burial to follow at the San Juan Cemetery in San Juan. Take I-25 north towards Las Vegas (Exit 319).

FRANCES MARTIN JONES, 96, of Santa Fe died Aug. 29. She was born to Jesse and Rosa Frances Martin in Weatherford, Texas. She was raised and educated in Texas, where she completed her bachelor's and master's degrees. She was a teacher of high school mathematics and home economics for over 40 years in the Wellington and Littlefield, Texas, school systems. She was the author of two textbooks on sewing and tailoring and was greatly admired for her creativity with needle and thread. Her artistry was varied— she sewed everything from delicate lace-trimmed infant clothing to hand-knitted children's sweaters and caps, from fancy costumes for school plays to tailored men's jackets and overcoats. As well as making lamp shades and upholstering furniture for her home, she constructed seat covers for the family car and even a family camping tent. She enjoyed music; she played both piano and organ. She will be remembered for her wit, her appreciation of a well-told story, and her fondness for correct English. She was married for over 50 years and was devoted to her family, church, and community. In 1974, Frances and her husband retired to Sun City, Ariz.; she moved to Santa Fe in 1999. Frances and her husband Truman were members of the Methodist Church from childhood and were founding members of Willowbrook Methodist Church in Sun City. In recent years, she lived at Ponce de Leon Retirement Community and was affiliated with St. John's United Methodist Church in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman J. Jones; and son, Dr. John Martin Jones. She is survived by her son, Dr. William K. Jones and wife Peggy of Santa Fe; seven grandchildren; sister, Virginia Martin Gibbs of Petaluma, Calif., and many other relatives and friends. Family members will gather in Santa Fe for a private memorial service at St. John's United Methodist Church with burial in Rosario Cemetery. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 984-8600.
