Aletha Mae "Lea" Woelk, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died Friday, March 5, 1999. She is survived by her first cousins, Florence Hystory of Great Bend, KS, Charles Aldridge of Garfield, KS, Ruth Hentz of Dallas, TX, Dan Leonard of Colton, WA, Louise Pence of San Diego, CA, Agnes Marie Leonard of Sublet, KS and Gladys Bickleman of Washington, DC; second cousins, Clarene Goodheart of Stockton, KS and David Leonard of Colorado; and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Erisman and Irene Boudreau, all of Albuquerque. Ms. Woelk worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers for 38 years and was Chief of Administrative Services at the time of her retirement. She was a life member of the Beta Iota Chapter, ESA Sorority. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM, with Rev. Palmer Clark officiating. Mrs. Estella G. Abeyta, 90, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Abeyta was the beloved mother of five daughters, Frances Padilla, Dorothy Abeyta, Mary Montoya and husband, Rudy, Nellie Padilla and Victoria Sierra and John Sr.; one son, Triny Montoya and wife, Ramona. She is also survived by her brother, Severo Gonzalez and wife, Betty; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Abeyta was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Roberto Montoya and Margie Ulibarri, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Peralta with final viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Albert Gallegos, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Chavez Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Sierra Jr., Robert Montoya, John Sierra Sr., Leroy Padilla, Aaron Padilla, James Gallegos and honorary will be Kenneth Rivera. Gorgonio J. Aragon, age 63, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margie Aragon; sons, Delbert Aragon and Eddie Aragon; daughters, Grace Duran and husband, Orlando, Irene Aragon, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Miguel Andres Duran. Mr. Aragon retired from the City of Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 9, 2000, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, 2000, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Father Domingo Gumpal, Celebrant. John L. Barnes, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, died on March 7, 2000. He was born in Bokoshe, OK and was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. Mr. Barnes was a perpetual member of Murrow Lodge No. 49 A.F. & A.M. in Spiro, OK and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn June Davis Barnes in 1994. He is survived by sons, John R. Barnes of Albuquerque and Donald L. Barnes of Lakewood, CO; daughter, Myra S. Lyle of Albuquerque; brothers, Morris L. Barnes of El Paso, TX; two grandchildren, Jennifer Alton and husband, Scott of Concord, CA and Greg Barnes of Lakewood, CO; and a great-granddaughter, Kearsti Chanel Alton of Concord, CA. Sonya Marie Brown, 19, passed away March 4, 2000. She is survived by son, Antonio Brown; mother, Heather Atencio; father, Dale Brown; sisters, Ashley DeWitt, Anna Maxey; grandparents, Kay and John DeWitt, Jean Brown; aunts, Charolette Garcia, Renee Atencio; uncle, William Brown; numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Alameda Baptist Church, 8818 2nd NW, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2000, Pastor Marvin Capehart officiating, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park. Gene Sherritt Buescher, widow of Charles Malcolm Buescher, Jr., residents of Albuquerque since 1958, passed away Sunday, March 7. She was born July 21, 1914, in Marietta, Ohio. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees from University of Illinois. She had been a very active real estate broker since 1958, previously associated with Brown Realty Company and most recently with Margo Gordon Realtors. She was always active in civic affairs, and she served as a member and Vice President of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta during its first five years. She was Albuquerque Realtor of the Year in 1967, New Mexico State Realtor of the Year in 1970, National President of The Women's Council of Realtors in 1972, and President of the Realtors Association of New Mexico in 1975. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Sally) Del Monte and son-in-law, Kenneth Del Monte of San Francisco, CA; her step-daughter, Cathy Brown of Houston; and her step-son, Michael Buescher of Odessa, TX. Her surviving brothers and sisters are James Sherritt of Kerrville, TX, George Sherritt of Boulder, CO, Mary Louise Eilar of Whittier, CA, and, Cynthia Richards of Emmitt, ID. She is also survived by her niece, Sherry Ann Perry of Corrales; and many other out-of-town nieces and nephews. Mass will be held at the Hospital Chapel, 2nd Floor, St. Joseph Medical Center, Main Downtown Hospital, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2000. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Gene's life on Sunday, March 12, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the family residence. Donations to the charity of choice. Isabel L. Carrillo died in Albuquerque at the age of 36. Isabel is survived by her father, Arnold Carrillo; mother, Lucille Carrillo; son, Joseph Carrillo; daughter, Mary Carrillo; brother, Teddy Carrillo; and grandson, Jose Carrillo. Kyle Dillard Jr., 79, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, March 08, 2000. He was born in Breckenridge, TX in 1920. Kyle was a member of the Golf Road Church of Christ in Belen. He retired from New Mexico Tech since 1986. Kyle fought in World War II. Kyle is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dorothy (Dot); his children, Jan House, Denese Auge and her husband, Ed Auge and their son, Kyle III; grandchildren, Jeff House and his wife, Rebecca, Steven House, Carrie Auge, David Auge and Melissa Auge, all of Belen and Bradley Dillard of San Diego, CA; nephew, Curtis DuPriest of Houston, TX. He is also survived by many special friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, 2:00 p.m., at the Golf Road Church of Christ. Mary Ellen Gabbel, 81, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 7, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward J. Gabbel of Albuquerque; daughter, Barbara Sayers and husband, Larry of Edmond, OK; son, John Gabbel and wife, Shirley of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Shirene Fischer and husband, Todd, Kevin Sayers, Jared and Jaclyn Gabbel; sister, Ann McHargue; and many other family and friends. She was a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church and Golden Circle Bible Study Class. Mrs. Gabbel was involved with prayer ministry for many years. Alfredo "Freddie" Gomez, 57, passed away at home March 7, 2000. A native New Mexican, he was employed at Elastamold. He was preceded in death by brother, Ralph Edward Archuleta; niece, Patricia Lynn Marsh; nephew, Elijah John Gallegos. He is survived by parents, Virginia and Luciano Archuleta; siblings, Vemba Martinez and husband, Dan, John Gomez and wife, Lorraine, Leonard Archuleta and wife, Susan, Cecilia Archuleta, Steve Archuleta, Margarete Ruiz; nieces, Babette Colbert, Jessica Robbie, Christina Griener, Carmela Gomez, Andreana Gomez, Carla Gallegos and husband, Nick and their children, Mariah and Loryssa, Patrick and Kathleen Marsh, Angela Archuleta, Lisa Schwartz and husband, Chad, Andrew Zingale, Shenna Archuleta, Juanito Ruiz, Monique Aragon, Carl; and numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Baby Adina J. Jaquez died Monday in Albuquerque. Adina is survived by her parents, Ray Jaquez and Amanda Garley of Los Lunas; grandparents, Gilbert and Esther Garley of Los Lunas and Richard Vargas and Regina Quijada of Los Angeles, CA; her sister, Kayla Jaquez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and family who loved her very much. Funeral services for Adina will be held on Friday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Maximo Lovato passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Dora Lovato of Albuquerque; sons, Robert Lovato and wife, Lillian of San Luis, Anthony Lovato and wife, Isabel of San Luis, Joe Lovato also of San Luis, Andrew Lovato of Bernalillo, Alex Lovato and wife, Christine of Pena Blanca; and a daughter, Christine and husband, Joe Valdez of Albuquerque; step-children, John Garcia of Albuquerque, Michelle Farmer of Albuquerque, Della Baca and husband, Rick of Albuquerque, Margaret Anaya and husband, Abel of Albuquerque, Pete Garcia and wife, Lorraine of Albuquerque, Rosemary Garcia of Albuquerque, Geraldine Lovato-Aragon and husband, Matthew of Bernalillo, and Ronnie Garcia and wife, Maria of Albuquerque. Also surviving are brothers, Noe Lovato and wife, Dorella of Tome, Adan Lovato of Bernalillo, Primitivo Lovato and wife, Erlinda of Bernalillo, Delfin Lovato also of Bernalillo; sisters, Emily Rael of Albuquerque, Evan Serna of Albuquerque, Erlinda Martinez and husband, Ralph of Corrales, Corina Apodaca of Colorado, Flora Montano and husband, Severo of Bernalillo, and Lucille Flores and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and step-grandchildren. Maximo worked for Kirtland Air Force Base for 33 years. He was much loved by family and friends, he will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be today, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Alameda Chapel. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Brian Tosh MacGillivray, age 46, passed on to greener pastures Tuesday morning, March 6, 2000, as a result of a severe case of pneumonia and its' complications. Surviving Tosh are his wife, Janalie Bright; two sons, Brian Shane and Cody Lee MacGillivray; one daughter, Jennifer Bright; two step-sons, James and Joshua Bright; parents, Finlay and Molly MacGillivray; two brothers, Jim F. MacGillivray and wife, Jody, Jack MacGillivray and wife, Cindy of Albuquerque. Tosh was preceded in death, in 1978, by a third brother, Finlay Scott MacGillivray. He is also survived by three aunts, Betty Fletcher of Edina, MN, Jean Seth and Maxine Gerhart, both of Santa Fe; two uncles, Bill MacGillivray and wife, Carla of Boise, ID and Allan MacGillivray and wife, Violet of Santa Fe; two nephews, James S. MacGillivray and wife, Debbie, Jeff T. MacGillivray and wife, Liz, all of Albuquerque; three nieces, Tangi MacGillivray, Dawn Lopez and husband, Joey, all of Albuquerque, Leslie and husband, Jeff Melton of Dallas, TX. Tosh was a journeyman electrician by trade and a musician by hobby. He sang in various choirs at First Presbyterian Church as he grew up and also in the Manzano High School Choir. His passions were bluegrass music and stand-up bass guitar. Tosh participated in several bands as a vocalist and bass guitarist. Other hobbies were fishing and the outdoors. He molded his life around these activities and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. His quick wit and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him. He was a man with a very gentle nature and we will miss him beyond words. Private services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2000. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens in Santa Fe. Philip R. MacKaron, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Saturday, March 4, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Agnes J. MacKaron; sons, Richard P. MacKaron and wife, Claudia, all of Albuquerque, Philip A. MacKaron and wife, Darby of Kerrville, TX and Dr. Melvin J. MacKaron and wife, Pearline of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Erissa, Geoffrey, Nicholas and wife, Jennifer, Russell, Amanda and husband, Ben, Triston and Levi; and sisters, Helen MacKaron Abel and husband, Clinton and Virginia Nassif, all of Albuquerque, Florence Bird and husband, Edwin of Alvin, TX and Adellee Joseph and husband, Dr. Norman of Aurora, CO. Mr. MacKaron was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He worked in the grocery business for many years as owner and operator of his own store and also as a supervisor for a convenience store chain. Mr. MacKaron also worked for the City of Albuquerque. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Raymond Burton Randall Jr., 76, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary Randall; son, Raymond B. Randall III and wife, Sherry, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Verlene Williams and husband, Raleigh of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Alan Randall of Aztec, Arlan Randall, Shelly Snyder, both of Albuquerque, Jimmy Sanders, Denise Rector, Cindy Cruz, all of Amarillo, and Laurie Stockard of Lubbock, TX; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Hughes of Albuquerque, Ida Ellen Northcutt of T or C, and Daisy Hay of Albuquerque; and brothers, Willard Randall and Perry Randall, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie Johnson and Eva Ray Moore; and brother, Charles Randall. Mr. Randall was born in Albuquerque. He married Mary Adeline Felici in Walsenburg, CO in 1942. Mr. Randall purchased Zenith Cleaners in 1946, then changed the name to University Cleaners. In 1969, he opened Delta Uniform & Linen, Inc. on Candelaria. He was a member of Mesa Masonic Lodge #68, A.F. & A.M., Santa Fe Scottish Rite Bodies, and Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. Michael P. Scalere II, 41, passed away March 7,2000. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Scalere; sister, Debra Scalere-Holtzen and husband, Robert; niece, Christina Elizabeth Holtzen; nephew, Justin Michael Holtzen; Godfather and uncle, James D. Logsdon; aunts, Patricia Logsdon Growder, Nancy Logsdon Culver; cousins, Wane Growder and Kelly Pierce; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Paula Hernandez Schultz, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2000. In passing she was surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Schultz who died July 4, 1980. She was an employee of Sandia Laboratories for many years and retired from Sandia in 1978. Her passion for work kept her involved in numerous volunteer organizations, including BRAVO and Military Widow's Association. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Delores and husband, Wally Cole of Albuquerque, Larry Schultz of New York, Raymond Paul Schultz and wife, Ellen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Carla Torres, Anna Maria Torrez Cruz, Brynda Brodie, Barry Cole, Martin Curtis and Samantha Schultz; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Joshua Guerin, Nickoelle and Jesse Cruz and Lucas Cole; great-grandson, Gabriel Guerin II. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 9, 2000, 7:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Jim Tricoli, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at home after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 9, 1926 in Buffalo, NY to Raymond and Anna (Amico) Tricoli. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Anderson Tricoli of Albuquerque; daughter, Joanne Blackwell of Phoenix, AZ; sons, Robert and Michael Tricoli, both of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Bess Lonzi and husband, Albert, Jo DeLozier and husband, Bill, and Camille Jeris, all of Buffalo, NY; brother, Paul Tricoli of Santa Fe, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Tricoli; and sister, Rose Silvestro. Mr. Tricoli retired after 24 years from Communications Workers of America Union. He was employed for 19 years by Western Electric Co. in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Tricoli served in United State Marine Corps. during WWII at the Battle of Iwo Jima and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Leopaldo Valencia passed away suddenly on March 3. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erlinda Apodaca. He is survived by his children, Ernest, Leona, Alfonso, Josie and Leonard Valencia. He is also survived by many grandchildren, brothers and sisters who will miss him dearly. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. We would like to thank all of our family and friends for the prayers and support.

Debralee Karen Whalen, born July 1, 1952, in Denver, CO, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, surrounded by family, friends, and Winnie the Pooh. She is survived by her children, Lisa, John and Zack Whalen; her parents, Virginia and Sherman Jones; her sister, Jill Roberts and several nephews, all of Albuquerque. Her positive attitude, fun personality, and keen sense of humor will be dearly missed. Debbie was a Disney fan for most of her life and visited Disney World and Disneyland more times than we can remember. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held Friday, March 10, 6:00 p.m., at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE 87111.
