Adam "Don" H. Soliz
December 18, 1957 - September 4, 2005
Mr. Adam "Don" H. Soliz, age 47 of Santa Fe, NM. passed away on Sunday September 4, 2005. He was preceded in death by his father Santos Soliz in May of 2005. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team and enjoyed riding his motorcycles and four wheelers. He attended Challenge New Mexico and referred to it as his college and was such a friendly person who cared about other people's happiness. He is survived by his loving mother Theresa Soliz, his brothers and sisters; Amador Soliz and his companion Laura Yoder, Elsa Pacheco, Santos Gallegos and her husband Ray, Amado Soliz and his wife Fidela, Rene Soliz and his companion Nanette Perea all of Santa Fe, Chriselda Soliz and her companion Eugene Salazar of Espanola, Bertha Visarraga and her husband Pete, Daisy Soliz, and Albert Soliz and his wife Angela all of Santa Fe. He is also survived by numerous uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces and other relatives. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday September 8, 2005 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Friday at 10:00 AM at the same church with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Rodeo Rd. August 2, 1923 - August 8, 2005
Adelina Sanchez – Age 82 a resident of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, August 8, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernabel Sanchez in 1995; brothers; J.D. Martinez Sr., Jose Pat Martinez, Tony Martinez, C. Paul Martinez and Joe G. Martinez. She is survived by her brother, Augustine Martinez and wife Theresita of San Pedro; sister, Annie Urban of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law: Ruby Shirley of Santa Fe and Delia Martinez, Gen Martinez and Mae Martinez all of the Española area; and numerous nephews and nieces whom she loved like her own. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. November 9, 1916 - April 28, 2006
Althea Showalter – Age 89 a resident of Los Alamos passed away on Friday, April 28th, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Showalter; brothers: Larry and Wesley Aungst; and a sister, Marie Nessman. She was born on November 9th, 1916 to Amos Aungst and Jennie Hamilton-Aungst in Bloomingdale, NJ. She married David Showalter on September 3, 1949 in Monrovia, CA. She held nursing positions in the states of: New York, Minnesota, California and Texas as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple, Texas, was in the Alumni Association of Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City and was a graduate of New York University. She is survived by her daughters: Elaine Watson and husband William of Los Alamos and Jane Solari of Jolon, CA; sister, Edith Seltenheim of Oakland, NJ; granddaughter, Kitty Brown and husband Chris of Ft. Amadita "Amy" Sanchez
April 3, 1951 - October 20, 2005
Amadita "Amy" Sanchez – Age 54 a lifelong resident of Dixon, passed away on Thursday, October 20th, 2005, with her loving family by her side in Santa Fe. Amy worked for the Española Public Schools for 13 years and recently worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 20 years as a procurement contract assistant. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Amado Archuleta on August 11th, 2005. She is survived by her loving companion, Joaquin "Jackie" Garduño; her son, Walter Earl Sanchez and wife April; her daughter, Kristal Sanchez; four grandchildren: Kyrstyana Sanchez, Donevon, Brian and Zachary Sanchez; her loving mother, Domitila Archuleta of Dixon; brothers and sisters: Agripiana "Pana" Martinez and husband William of Embudo, Patricio Archuleta and his former wife, Nora Rodriguez of Embudo, Adonais Archuleta and wife Joann of Española, Orlinda Alewine and husband Carlton of Dixon, Rudy Archuleta and companion Brenda Ortiz of Dixon, Anita Lucy Archuleta and companion Henry Gallegos of Alcalde, Eleanor Duda and husband Edward of Dixon, Celso Archuleta and best friend, Brian Eldridge of Dixon and Frances Archuleta of Dixon; and Walter and Julie Sanchez of Dixon; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. CARLOS E. JULIEN age 58 of Espanola passed away on Friday October 26, 2007. He is survived by his beloved mother Matilde DelCanto of Illinois, his son Charles Julien of Espanola, his daughter Tiffini Julien of Espanola, grandchildren Ariana and Leandro as well as many relatives and friends. Mrs. Celia Jacquez De Trujillo age 98 of Chimayo passed away on Tuesday May 3, 2005. She was preceded in death by her late husband Canuto Trujillo, her daughter Aurelia Fresquez in 1996, her parents Enrique and Eugenia Jacquez, four sisters; Fransisquita Jacquez, Carmelita Ulibarri, Juanita Sanchez and Celestina Henik, and three brothers; Tomas, Emilio and Isidro Jaquez. She is survived by her children; Carlota Ortiz and her husband Ursulo of Santa Fe, Fabiola Borrego of Albuquerque, Eleanor Maestas and her husband Joe of Chamita, Priscilla Alire and her husband Ray of CA., and Lita Price and her husband Thomas of CA. She is also survived by numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren as well as other relatives and foster children. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday May 5th at 7:00 pm at Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday May 6th at 1:30 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo.

Dorothy Jacquez – Age 77 a lifelong resident of Gallina passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernabe Jacquez; 2 sons: Bernie and Leroy Jacquez; mother, Leocadia Gonzales; and brothers: George and Gilbert Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albino Trujillo; sons: Albino Trujillo Jr. and Robert Trujillo; parents: Marcos and Higinia Trujillo; brothers: Pula and Reyes Trujillo. She liked to do arts and crafts and she liked to sew. FRANCES NARANJO Age 85 of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away on March 13, 2005 in Albuquerque. She was a teacher in the missionary field for 28 years and then in Espanola in the public school system for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Desiderio and Rebecca Naranjo, sisters; Tonita Daley, Josephine Ethlebh, Orlinda Abeyta and Lorencita Vermillion. She is survived by her only brother Albert Naranjo and wife Carol of Espanola, her sister Mary Kettle of Maryland and other family members.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday March 14 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel at Block-Salazar Mortuary, Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am at the Santa Clara Catholic Church with interment at the Santa Clara Pueblo Cemetery. Gary L. Stelzer
July 31, 1949 - February 2, 2006
Gary L. Stelzer – Age 56 a resident of Los Alamos passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert D. Stelzer Sr. and Viola M. Stelzer. Gary retired from the Los Alamos National Lab after 34 years of service as a Mechanical Technologist. His main love and life was his best friend and companion, Bean-O, along with his family and many friends. He was a member of the Elks and also the American Legion. And enjoyed fishing with his friends. He is survived by his brothers: Bob Stelzer of Belen and Jim Stelzer of Los Alamos; sister-in-law, Ruth Stelzer of Belen; nephews and nieces: Bryan Stelzer of Belen, Leslie, Craig, Amber and Aubrey Sizemore all of Moriarty and Tony Henderson of Belen; children: Johnathan and Shanna Stelzer; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jason W. Smith – Age 62 a resident of Santa Cruz passed away on Saturday, April 1st, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert A. and Lela Smith; and sister, Polly Mallory. He was born on February 16th, 1944 to Herbert A. and Lela Smith in Amarillo, Texas. He married Ramoncita M. Smith on December 24th, 1971 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Ramoncita M. Smith of Santa Cruz; brothers and sisters: Duane Smith and wife Thelma of Dumas, Texas, Mary Phillips and Jessie Smith both of White Deer, Texas and Elizabeth Martin and husband Daryl of Portales, New Mexico; brother-in-law, D.C. J.M. Stevenson
June 28, 1933 - March 5, 2007
J.M. Stevenson – Age 73 a resident of Española passed away on Monday, March 5, 2007 following a lengthy illness. Mr. Stevenson taught and coached for 10 years at McCurdy School, also coached at Santa Fe Indian School, St. Catherine's School, Santa Fe Prep, Santa Fe High and also Española Valley Middle School. He was a graduate of the Collegiate School in New York City, Tufts University and received his Masters at the University of Bridgeport. He was a life member of Cerrillos Lodge #19 AF & AM and a member of the Santa Fe Chapter 19 OES. He was a Lay Minister for the Hernandez UMC. He recently attended services at Aposento Alto in Rio Chiquito. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Doris Stevenson of Española; step-sons: George Morse and Daniel Morse both of Española; step-daughter, Edith Brown and husband Cecil of Española; 6 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; 2 half sisters: Ruth Ann Henderson and Alice Van De Water both of Santa Barbara, CA; adopted sister, Elena Watson Woolbridge of DeKalb, Illinois; and numerous friends, relatives and former students. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Velarde United Methodist Church with Minister Larry Lauber officiating. Burial will follow at the La Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde. Following the burial a reception will follow at the Lighthouse Gourmet Coffee Shop.
