TRUETT L. BLACK, 77, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
He loved the city of Santa Fe and served as a minister and music educator for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; sons, Jim and hwife Martha of Santa Fe, and David and wife Claudia of Albuquerque; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1313 Apache Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 531 Harkle Road, Suite B, Santa Fe, N.M., 87505.

WILLIAM HOLMES DOUGHERTY, 81, of Santa Fe died Tuesday of pneumonia.
He was born in Fort Worth and grew up on a ranch near Tubac, Ariz. After recovering from polio, he graduated from Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Va., and received an honors degree in Spanish from Yale University. In 1963, he earned a master's degree in Slavic studies from the University of California at Berkeley. After graduating from Yale in 1945, he joined the U.S. Foreign Service and was among the first Americans to enter Warsaw after the defeat of the Germans in World War II. In 1946, he was married in Warsaw in a ceremony performed by Father Karol Wojtyla, now Pope John Paul II. He was a U.S. consul in Warsaw immediately after the war and then served with Ambassador Averill Harriman in Moscow from 1946 to 1948. Returning to Washington, he worked for the National Security Agency. He moved to Tesuque in 1952, where, while managing the family farms in Texas, he served as a consultant to Los Alamos National Laboratory. He loved to get together with friends and family around his Tesuque kitchen table.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Dougherty; second wife, Jullie Paltengue Dougherty; and brother, Samuel Alexander Dougherty.
He is survived by his daughter, Eleanor (Tammy) Dougherty of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; sons, Frank M. Dougherty and wife Christine Hunker Dougherty of Tesuque; two grandchildren; and stepsons, Roman, Luis and Carlos Buhler.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to your favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

ALICE GONZALES, 75, of Arroyo Hondo died unexpectedly Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bences Gonzales; son, Tony Gonzales; sisters, Eloisa Chacon and Cleo Arellano; and brothers, Joe, Leo and Tano Romo. She is survived by her children, Sandy Chavez and husband George, Mike Gonzales, Joe Gonzales and wife Loretta, Wilbert Gonzales, Lawrence Gonzales and wife Becky, Rose Cardenas and husband Ramon, and Glenda Romero and husband David; and 20 grandchildren.

ANDRES RAUL ORTEGA, 45, of Tesuque died Tuesday.
He had a love for animals and always had a dog by his side. He was an artist who never lost a passion for his craft. He was the guy on the Harley-Davidson with his sidekick Monke along for the ride.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Ortega.
He is survived by his parents, Juan and Carmen Ortega; brother, Juan Ortega and wife Sara; sisters, Susanna Tercero and husband Navor, and Melissa Ortega; longtime girlfriend, Deborah Gallegos; his beloved dog, Pepe; and many other relatives and friends.

AGNES L. LEE, 81, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday at Northeastern Regional Hospital.
She was a former resident of Lockport. She worked as an airport manager for many years. She was a member of the World War II HUMP Pilot Association. She was an avid crocheter and created many afghans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee; parents, Moses Darling and Agnes Upthegrove-Wadsworth Darling; and brother, Harry Darling.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jaramillo and husband Bernie of Las Vegas, N.M.; son, Frederick Lee of Lockport, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

JULIA MONTANO-MAESTAS, 61, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delfido and Brigida Montano.
She is survived by her husband Nicasio T. Maestas; daughter, Pamela Lopez-Kennedy and husband Curtis Kennedy; two grandchildren; and many other relatives.
She graduated from Santa Rosa High School and graduated with honors from New Mexico Highlands University. She was a teacher at the Anton Chico Schools for 13 years until she retired due to health reasons. Her hobbies included painting, writing stories, reading books and spending time with her grandchildren.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today at San Jose Church in Anton Chico. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to be held at a later date.

GREGORIO MARRUJO, JR., 66, of El Carmen died Sunday.
He was born in El Carmen. He was a lifetime cattle rancher. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the St. Gertrudes Church in Mora.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Marrujo, Sr.; daughter, Marie Marrujo; and brother, Jake Marrujo.
