MARSH

Albert "Albie" James Marsh Jr., age 74, passed away at his home on July 31, 2004. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on October 26, 1929.

Albie was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was a businessman most of his life who retired early to spend time doing what he loved: golfing, bowling, playing cards, flying his private plane, traveling in his motor home and telling jokes.

He will be remembered as a loving husband and family man. Albie is survived by his wife of 52 years Peggy; children Vincent Marsh of Bluewater Lake, Monica Donald of Farmington, Michelle Killgore of Gallup, Guy Marsh of Farmington and Gary Marsh of Albuquerque; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren who knew him as "Papa; sister Barbara Munoz of Las Vegas, Nev., and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Albie was preceded in death by his two sons Albert III and Gregory; brother Richard Marsh and parents Albert Sr. and Mary Marsh.

A memorial mass was held at St. Teresa Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at 10 a.m. with long-time friend Father Crispin Butz OFM officiating.

His cremated remains will be buried with his two sons at their family plot at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallup.

Honorary pallbearers included his poker pals, bowling buddies and golfing guys.

Memorial contributions can be made in Albie's name to his and Peggy's alma mater: Gallup Catholic School, 405 Park Avenue, Gallup, N.M. 87301.

Grants Mortuary was entrusted with arrangements.

BIBO

Phil A. Bibo, 65, unexpectedly passed away early Thursday, Oct. 7, at his home in Grants. He was born on Jan. 30, 1939, in Albuquerque to Phil and Marie Bibo of Cubero.

Mr. Bibo graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1957 and went on to serve his country overseas as a member of our armed forces. In 1965 he returned home to Cubero and helped run the family business, Los Cerritos Trading, until he opened Rio Grande Trailer Supply in Grants.

He was a big man whose heart matched his shoulders. He fit the landscape of New Mexico's rugged mountains and vast plains as if he were born to it. Many are the canyons and cliffs that he has left his footprints upon as he walked through the pines and sage of this country that he loved so well.

His love for hunting and fishing was surpassed by none.

Mr. Bibo is survived by his six children Philip Bibo and wife Janelle, Richard Bibo and wife Rena, Jack Bibo, Anna Bibo-Hamilton and husband Craig, Jimmy Bibo and wife Trinh and Deana Bibo; his two sisters Jane Gill and Phylis Britt and husband Howard; his great-aunt Neva Summer; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his former wife Susan Bibo and his previous wife Margitta Bibo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Phil and Marie Bibo; his brother Blair Bibo; his brother-in-law Bud Gill and his nephew Bruce Gill.

Mr. Bibo had a great faith in God and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held at Central Baptist Church at 701 E. Sage in Grants at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Grants Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.

MIRABAL

Nicole Marie Ann Mirabal passed away on Oct. 2, 2004. She was 29 days old. Nicole was born on Sept.7, 2004, in Gallup to Nabor J. Mirabal and Jennifer Townsend.

She is survived by her parents Nabor J. Mirabal and Jennifer Townsend of Grants; her brothers Ryan Beach and Nabor W. Mirabal of Grants; her sister Heather McNabb of Grants; her maternal grandparents Cheri and Tim Thorne of Kingman, Ariz.; her paternal grandparents Edwin Sr. and Evelyn Mirabal of San Rafael; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her babysitter Mark Riley.

A visitation was held and a Rosary was recited on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at San Rafael Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was conducted Wednesday, Oct. 6 at San Rafael Catholic Church with Father Alberto Avella officiating. Burial followed at San Rafael Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stacy Summers, Mark Riley, Rusty Anderson and Tim Puroll.

Honorary pallbearers were Justin Zamora, Joe Garcia, Ryan Hiles, Edwin Mirabal Sr. and Tim Thorne.

Grants Mortuary was entrusted with arrangements.

MORONES

Guadalupe "Lupe" Morones, 88, passed away in Grants on Oct. 5, 2004. She was born on May 9, 1918, in Grants to Francisco Morones and Petra Ruiz Morones.

She was a devoted member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and a member of the third order of St. Francis.

Mrs. Morones is survived by her husband Gilbert of Los Lunas; her step-niece Adela Maestas and numerous other family members and friends that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Melecio Calzada.

A Funeral Mass will be recited today, Oct. 8, 2004, at 2 p.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Father Matthew Keller officiating. Burial will follow at San Rafael Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Gilbert Maestas, Gilbert Maestas Jr., Joe Montoya, Lawrence Montoya and Lawrence Montoya Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will include Alfred Montoya, Ernest Montoya, Matthew Montoya, Pat Montoya, Romolo Montoya Jr. and Willie Montoya.

Grants Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.

PENA

Bernadette "Berna" Pena, 52, passed away on Oct. 4, 2004. She was born on June 28, 1952, in Grants to Bernabel Vallejos and Dulcinea Gonzales Vallejos.

Mrs. Pena is survived by her husband Jimmy Pena of Meadow Lake, N.M.; her two sons James Pena and wife Rachel of Rio Rancho and Joseph Pena and wife Elisia of Albuquerque; her mother Dulcinea Vallejos of Grants; her three brothers Bernabel Vallejos Jr. of Grants, Paul Vallejos and wife Brenda of Grants and David Vallejos and wife Corina of Grants; her four sisters Dolores Garcia and husband Clarence of Grants, Helen Smith of Grants, Lucille Matthews and husband Nathan of Grants and Cheryl Torrez and husband Leo of San Rafael; and three grandchildren Andrew Pena, Kenneth Gonzales and Timothy Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her father Bernabel "Bernie" Vallejos.

A visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 7, at Grants Mortuary Chapel, followed by a Rosary at St. Teresa Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be conducted today, Oct. 8, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Father Alberto Avella officiating. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will include Jonathan Matthews, Anthony Chavez, Michael Vallejos, Joshua Vallejos, Daniel Chavez, Joel Johnson, Nathaniel Smith and Fabian Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will include Vincent Pena, Michael Padilla, Gary Pena and numerous other family members and friends.

Grants Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.

Diana Baca

Services for Diana Baca, 51, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Dec. 31, 2008, noon at Compassion Mortuary.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

Pastor Clyde Clark will officiate.

Marcella Porter

Funeral Mass for Marcella M. Porter 60, of San Rafael, will be held on Dec. 31, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the San Rafael Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Porter Family Cemetery in San Rafael.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.

Clifford Riedemann

Services for Clifford Henry Riedemann, 95, of Grants will be held on Dec. 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, 701 Sage Ave.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

Pastor Lonnie Jordan will officiate.

Jeremiah Lozano

Services for Jeremiah Cory Lozano, 17 months, of Grants, were held on Dec. 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan.

Pastor Garlad Moore officiated.

Mary Apodaca

Funeral Mass for Mary M. Apodaca, 83, of Pecos, New Mexico will be held on Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at the San Rafael Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the San Rafael Community Cemetery.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.

Placido Chavez

Funeral services for Placido Louis Chavez, 85, will be conducted at the Saint Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Dec. 20.

Father Edwin will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Grants Memorial Park Cemetery.

Max Mirabal

Funeral Mass for Max Mirabal, 84, of Grants, will be held on Dec. 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.

Bella Garcia

The Mass of Christian Burial for Bella Eva Garcia will be celebrated on Dec. 15, 2008, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.

A memorial service was conducted in Phoenix on Dec. 10, 2008, where the eulogy was given by Anthony Edwards, now retired from the Phoenix Cardinals.

A rosary will be recited in Las Vegas on Dec. 14, 2008, at 7 pm.

Maria Chavez

A funeral mass for Maria Antonia Chavez, 83, will be held on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at the San Rafael Catholic Church.

Rosary will be held on Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

The Rev. Ray Mahlmann will be the celebrant.

Interment of ashes will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Warren Bell

Funeral Services for Warren J. Bell, 78 of Milan, will be held on Dec. 13, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Milan.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

Pastor Dale Thatcher will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Dec. 12, 2008, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the church.

Leath Darrow

Services for Letha Darrow, 71 of Grants, will be held on Dec. 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Grants Memorial Park.

Pastor Garland Moore will officiate.

George Hanosh

Mass of the Resurrection for George J. Hanosh, 70, will be held Dec. 11, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Albuquerque.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.

Rosary will be recited Dec. 10, 2008, at 7 p.m., at the church, 562 Atrisco Dr., SW.

Wynell Paslay

Graveside Services for Wynell L. Paslay, 88 of Grants, will be held on Dec. 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Grants Memorial Park.

Mildred Chaves

A funeral service for Mildred Marie Chaves, 87, of Laguna Pueblo, will be held on March 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at French-University Chapel in Albuquerque.

A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the chapel, with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

Vicki Cisneros

A memorial rosary and mass for Vicki Martinez Cisneros 45, of Grants, will be held on March 28, 2009, at 9 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant.

Grace Vandever

Services for Grace Desiderio Vandever, 81, were held at 10 a.m. on March 21, 2009, at the Prewitt Assembly of God.

Barbara Brill

Barbara Brill, 70, formerly of San Bernadino, Calif., passed away on March 19, 2009, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1938, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dennis Chavez

Funeral Mass for Dennis David Chavez 23, of Grants, will be held on March 27, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.

A rosary will be held on March 26, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the church.

Julie Mortensen

The rosary was recited for Julie Ann Mortensen on Feb. 11, 2009, and her funeral was Feb. 12, 2009, at St. Joseph's Church in Leadville, Colo.

Kyoko Martinez

Memorial Services for Kyoko Martinez, 77, of Grants, will be held on March 27, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Compassion Mortuary.

Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.

James McCracken

Cremation has taken place for James McCracken, 77, long-time area resident.

Gilbert Archunde

Rosary and funeral mass for Gilbert A. "Sache" Archunde 74, of Grants, was held on March 16, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Private burial will be held later.

Robert Maestas

A military memorial service for Robert Leroy Maestas, 83, of Albuquerque, will be held on April 3, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Hasu Patel

Services for Hasu V. Patel, 70, long-time Grants resident, were recently held in India.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1939, and passed away on Jan. 16, 2009, in Anand, India.

Mary Raap

A rosary and funeral mass for Mary Raap, 88, of Grants, will take place March 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Grants Memorial Park after the mass.
