David Wessling
David Wessling, 66, passed away Feb. 26, 2004.
David was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 8, 1937, to Julian and Agnes Wessling.
He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed dearly.
Dave is survived by his family, Peggy Wessling; daughter, Kelli Matus (Tony); and beloved grandson, Michael Matus.
Private services for the family will be on Monday, March 1, at Burns Funeral Home.
James Edgar Lingafelter
James Edgar Lingafelter, 73, died Feb. 28, 2004, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Prairie, Ill., to Clyde and Conchetia Lingafelter, and had worked as a tool pusher in the oil field industry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
April 19, 2004, would have been the 54th wedding anniversary of James and Joyce.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Lingafelter of Carlin, Nev.; son, James A. Lingafelter and wife, Karen, and their son, Matthew, of Longview, Texas; daughter, Kimberly S. Riley and her husband, Bill, and their sons, Jeff, Skyler and Dylan, of Spring Creek, Nev.; brothers, Jack Lingafelter of Bradley, Ill., Jerry Lingafelter of Jackson, Mo., and Rick Lingafelter of Joilet, Ill.; sisters, Elizabeth Wood of Grayville, Ill., Carolyn Turner of West Frankfort, Ill., and Pat Elwell of Claremore, Okla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the Elko City Cemetery.
The Rev. Tim Shields of First Baptist Church in Carlin will officiate at the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
Dolores Elaine Coffield
Dolores Elaine Coffield, 73, Belle Fourche, S.D., died Friday evening, Feb. 27, 2004, at the Dorsett Health Care Center, Spearfish, S.D.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, March 3, 2004, at 12:30 p.m. at the Christian Life Center, Belle Fourche, S.D.
Pastor Paul Howard will officiate with burial to follow the service at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D.
Edith Jewel Donaldson
Edith Jewel Donaldson, 91, died Feb. 29, 2004, at Golden Age Care Center in Elko.
She was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Clarksville, Ark., to Elet and Mary Louvenie Callahan Patton and she worked as a homemaker.
She is being escorted back to Arkansas for services and burial.
No local services will be held.
John Steward Williams
John Steward Williams, 79, of Jarbidge, Nev., died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Snake River Rehabilitation Center in Buhl.
He was born March 9, 1924, in Burley, Idaho, the son of John and Abbie Steward Williams.
He moved to Jarbidge as an infant and attended schools there and then attended Buhl High School, where he graduated in 1942.
He served in the United States military during World War II.
After the war, he lived for a short time in California.
He married Gloria Carskadon in 1960.
Mr. Williams worked as a miner for a number of years, served as postmaster in Jarbidge for 24 years, was a constable for a time and served as justice of the peace for many years.
He loved Jarbidge, served as a volunteer fireman for many years, and will be deeply missed by all his friends there.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary (Jack) Bess of Buhl; two stepchildren, June Vance and Leland Mort, both of Twin Falls; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and by one sister, Mary Jenkins of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996, a son, grandson, great-granddaughter and one brother.
A memorial service will be held in Jarbidge later in the summer.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Mortuary, "Chapel by the Park."

LaVon P. Affleck
LaVon P. Affleck, 97, died Feb. 26, 2004, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital of natural causes. He was born June 2, 1906, in Logan, Utah, to Peter and Martha Sorensen Affleck and worked as a railroad telegrapher.
Cremation was at Sunset Crematory under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
At his request, no services were held.
