Chester J. Kaminski Sr., 87, of Syracuse died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Vocational High School. He retired in 1979 after 24 years as a letter carrier and in parcel post delivery for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a founding member and past president of the Syracuse Adelphi Club and a member of West Side Seniors. His wife, the former Anna Bukowski, died in 1988. Survivors: A daughter, Mary A. Esteban of Rochester; a son, Chester J. Jr. of Syracuse; a sister, Kay Kaminski of Solvay; two grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial, Sacred Heart Cemetery. Anthony J. Lis Jr., 45, of Eastwood died Saturday. A life resident of Syracuse, he graduated from Henninger High School in 1974. He owned Tony's General Contracting Co. He was a member of Laborers Local 433 for more than 20 years. Survivors: His companion, Lynn Belge of Eastwood; a daughter, Star Lirude of Pinellas Park, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Tanya Saniago of Connecticut; a stepson, Mickey Froscello of Connecticut; his parents, Carolyn D. and Anthony J. Lis Sr. of Eastwood; four sisters, Jane Palla and Barbara Masters, both of Liverpool, Joyce Pond of Baldwinsville and JoAnn Barany of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; three brothers, Thomas of Liverpool, David of Eastwood and James of  Texas; two grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Church. Burial,  White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. James H. McGarry Jr

James H. McGarry Jr., 82, of Loretto, Syracuse, died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from St. Lucy's Academy. He retired in 1985 after 20 years at the U.S. Postal Service facility on Taft Road. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Medical Detachment 13 23d SU, and a member of the American Legion Tipperary Hill Post. Survivors: His caregivers, Jay and Mary McGarry of Minoa. Duane R. Mitchell

Duane Ross Mitchell, 18, of 5740 N.W. 27th Court, Lauderhill, Fla., died June 10, the victim of a homicide. Born in Syracuse, he attended Edward Smith Elementary School. He was formerly a cook at Waffleworks in Florida. He played baseball with the Sherman Park Bulldogs. Survivors: His parents, Benita Mitchell of Florida and Michael Mitchell of Syracuse; three sisters, Jaqunna Mitchell, Kamesha McCarthy and Rudiesha McCarthy, all of Lauderhill; two brothers, Joshua and Michael Jr., both of Syracuse; his paternal grandparents, Willie Mae McCullough and Charles McCullough, both of Liverpool; his maternal grandparents, Betty and Willie Stanfield of Syracuse. Eileen T. Wood Smith, 76, of Skaneateles died Wednesday. Born in the Bronx, she had lived in Skaneateles for the past three years. She graduated from Ramapo College in Mahwah, N.J. She founded Ridgewood Executive Singles Club in Ridgewood, N.J. She was formerly a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine instructor at Mount Carmel Church. Survivors: Three daughters, Louanne Wood-Caswell of Decatur,  Texas, Linda W. Tilli of Wyckoff, N.J., and Suellen W. Vallely of Skaneateles; three sons, Thomas E. Wood of Guilford, Conn., John K. Wood of Cape May, N.J., and James A. Wood of Bath, Pa; one sister, Pauline McGuire of Amelia Island, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at B.L.
