Richard Kling

February 1, 1997
Richard A. Kling, 74, of Arnold Avenue, Amsterdam, died Saturday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Born March 3, 1922 in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Anthony and Helen Miegel Kling.

He attended Snyder High School and graduated from St. Peter's College, both in Jersey City.

He was employed by Poly-Mag in Sag Harbor, Ill., and most recently by Coleco Industries as a department manager, retiring in 1986.

Mr. Kling was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as an artillery instructor.

He was a member of the Strike and Spare Bowling League and the American Legion Post No. 39 in Amsterdam.

Mr. Kling was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

He married Audrey Nickerson Kling on May 8, 1943.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Audrey Cornish of Jamesburgh, N.J., Elizabeth Bosler of Setauket, Anna Burtt and Patricia Loucks, both of Amsterdam; six grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., followed at 9:15 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Johnson.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital District Coalition For Cancer Suvivorship, P.O. Box 694, Hagaman, 12086.

Evelyn Meyer

February 1, 1997
Mrs. Evelyn J. Meyer, 72, of Tupelo Drive, Clifton Park, formerly of Greenwich, died Saturday at home after a long illness.

Mrs. Meyer was a 1943 graduate of Gloversville High School and a graduate of Albany Business College. She received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Albany State University.

Mrs. Meyer was employed by the New York State Division of Parole at Great Meadows State Prison in Comstock, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of the Halfmoon Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her husband, William Meyer; a son, John McFarland of Albany; a daughter, Darlene Peaslee of Saratoga Springs; a brother, Clayton Longfritz of Gloversville; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at a late date. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga, 12866.

Arrangements are by Gordon G. Emerick Funeral Home.

Emaline "Kay" Paciolla

February 2, 1997
Mrs. Emaline "Kay" Paciolla, 93, of 32 Cedar St., Gloversville, died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Bergamo, Italy, Mrs. Paciolla came to this country at the age of 3. She attended Gloversville schools.

She was employed as a glove worker at various glove companies in the Fulton County area.

Mrs. Paciolla was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union of America and was a former member of the Emblem Club.

Her husband, Thomas Paciolla, whom she married in 1938, died in 1985.

Survivors include a sister, Ida Savarese of Gloversville; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown, in the spring.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

Carrie Pitcher

February 1, 1997
Mrs. Carrie Zeh Pitcher, 90, of Delmar, formerly of Selkirk, died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pitcher was born in Knox. She was a nurse at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Childs Hospital and the Cedars Rest Home in Selkirk before retiring.

Mrs. Pitcher lived in Selkirk for 25 years until moving to Delmar three years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Pitcher, a daughter, Marion Shaw of Margate, Fla.; two sons, William Gallup of Charlton and Allen Lloyd Pitcher; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place in the spring in Thompson's Lake Cemetery in Berne.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Home, 23 Hackett Blvd., Albany 12208.

Arrangements are by the Applebee Funeral Home.

Louis Zubal

February 1, 1997
Louis Zubal, 88, of Main Street, Delanson, died Saturday at the Glendale Home in Glenville.

Born in Schenectady, Mr. Zubal lived in Delanson since 1949.

He was employed as a machinist in the toolroom at American Locomotive Co. in Schenectady for 30 years, retiring in 1971.

Later, Mr. Zubal was a machinist for Environment One in Schenectady for several years.

His wife, Helen Williams Zubal, died March 6, 1993.

Survivors include three sons, Peter W. Zubal of Moravia, Charles J. Zubal of Glenville and Alfred A. Zubal of Delanson; a brother, Charles Zubal of Schenectady; a sister, Elizabeth Hull of Green Island; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at White-VanBuren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St., Delanson.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delanson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, or to the Delanson Fire Co., Box 125, both in Delanson, 12053.

Pauline Tillema

January 31, 1997
Pauline E. Tillema, 69, of Pattersonville Road, died Friday morning at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 28, 1927 in the Town of Howell, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Chester and Edith Weld Wright. She was a 1944 graduate of Cotton Plant High School in Arkansas.

She moved to this area in 1960 and was first employed as a clerk with Whites Apothecary of Schenectady and later with the Mohawk Service Area Restaurant, retiring in 1991.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She married Wilfred Tillema on Aug. 12, 1967.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Pamela Wager of Angier, N.C.; three brothers, Robert Wright of Little Rock, Ark., Troy Wright of Cotton Plant, Ark., and Benny Wright of Howell, Ark.; two sisters, Dolores Carter of Little Rock, Ark., and Irmera Foss of Rotterdam, and also nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the De Stefano Funeral Home, Route 5S, Amsterdam, with the Rev. William DeForest officiating. Cremation will follow in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady.

Calling hours will be held one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Doris Petraske

February 2, 1997

Doris Peters Petraske, 82, of 51 E. Eighth Ave., Gloversville, died Sunday at home following a long illness.
Born July 13, 1914 in Bleecker, she was the daughter of Frank D. and Bertha Ernst Peters. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and Albany Business School.

Mrs. Petraske was employed at the former Trust Co. of Fulton County, J.C. Bleyl Co., and for 28 years in the business office as internal auditor and payroll clerk with the Gloversville Enlarged School District.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gloversville where she had served on the administrative board and also as church financial secretary for many years. The Gloversville Business and Professional Women's Association; the Fulton County Museum, and the Retired Teachers Association.

She married Frederic E. Petraske on Oct. 3, 1936. He died July 19, 1993.

Survivors include a sister, June P. Wiley of Johnstown, a brother, Donald F. Peters of Gloversville, three nephews, three grand-nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Richard Sears officiating. Spring interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, or the First United Methodist Church of Gloversville, 7 Elm St., Gloversville, 12078.
