Emily L. Norris

CLYDE-Mrs. Emily L. Norris, 88 of 134 Elm Street died Sunday
(September 16, 2007) following an extended illness.
At her request there will be no prior calling hours. Funeral
services will be private and at the convenience of the
family.
Mrs. Norris was born in the town of Galen on March 6,
1919, the daughter of the late Henry and Edna Taber
Cushman. She had retired from the Parker Hannifin
Corporation and also had been employed by the
Hemmingway Canning Corporation of Clyde. Emily was
an avid reader.
Surviving are her daughter, Cathy (George) Stevenson
of Clyde, her brothers Henry (Janet) Cushman of North
Rose, George (Stella ) Cushman of Clyde and Russell
Cushman of Clifton Springs; 6 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren including her special great grandson
Joshua Jones Jr.; several nieces and nephews; her step
children Frank (Nancy) Norris Jr. of PA, Carolyn Norris
of ID and Tina (Joe) Crocker of Wolcott.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her 2
husbands, Marvin Rotach and Frank Norris Sr., her sons
Larry Sargent and Robert Rotach, her sisters Sarah
Stemaris and Nina O'Donnell and a step-son Mike
Norris.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris Funeral
Home of Clyde. entrusted to the Baris Funeral

EVELYN L. FRENCH

CLYDE / NEWARK - Mrs. Evelyn L. French, 93, of 790 East Maple Ave.,
Newark, formerly of Clyde, died Friday (October 5, 2007) at
the DeMay Living Center in Newark. following an extended
illness.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are
invited to attend her graveside service on Tuesday (October
9th) at 1 PM in the East Newark Cemetery. Rev. Barbara
DeAngelis, pastor of the Clyde United Methodist Church
will officiate.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance
Corp, PO Box 345 Clyde, NY 14433 or to Hospice of
Wayne County, 1120 South Main St., Newark, NY 14513
would be appreciated.
Mrs. French was born on November 12, 1913 in Utica, NY,
the daughter of Arthur J and Mary Anna Loveless
Lampman. On November 19, 1933 she married the late
Francis French, who predeceased her on January 26,
2002. In 1950 she and her husband purchased the Red &
White Grocery Store in Clyde, and they operated it until
1958, when she became employed by the Clyde Savannah
School District as the cafeteria cashier. She remained
employed at the school until the mid 1970's.
Evelyn was a member of the Clyde United Methodist
Church, Past Noble Grand of the Clyde Rebekah Lodge,
and a past member of the Clyde Rotary Anns.
She is survived by her son James (Neva) French of
Canastota. two daughters Shirley (Leonard) Noble of
Newark and Jeane Belair of Newark; 11 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris
Funeral Home of Clyde.

Anthony Marion "Murt" Murtari

CLYDE- Anthony Marion "Murt" Murtari, 70, of 7661
Ostrom St., Van Nuys, Ca., formerly of Clyde, died on
Friday (October 12, 2007) at the West Los Angeles
Veteran's Administration Hospital after a courageous
battle with cancer.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday
(November 2nd) from 5-8 PM at the Baris
Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St. Clyde. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday
(November 3rd) at 9 AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C.
Church in Clyde. Entombment will follow in the Garden
Crypts of St. John's Cemetery, Clyde, with full military
rites accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the St. John's Church memorial Fund, Sodus Street,
Clyde, NY 14433.
Tony was born on December 27, 1936 in Lyons, the son
of John and Jennie Lazzara Murtari. He was a graduate
of the Clyde Central School Class of 1955. He was
active in football, basketball and baseball. In 1955 he
joined the Army and served in Japan. He was discharged
in November of 1957. In 1959 he moved to Los Angeles.
He was employed as a carpet installer, construction
worker and mechanic in a garage he managed. Tony
enjoyed playing softball, golfing, going to the racetrack
and reading the daily newspaper front to back. He was
an avid Yankee fan, and had a fantastic memory being
able to vividly recall past events.
Surviving are his brother, Dominic (Barbara) Murtari of
Alisa Viejo, CA.; his sisters, Catherine (Raymond)
Gardner of Clyde, Rose (Anthony) Nicoletta of Clyde,
Mary Lidestri of Victor and Jennie Blondell of Newark;
his sister-in-law Mary Murtari of Newark; 12 nieces, 9
nephews many grand nieces and grand nephews and
cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1963, his father in
1998, his brother Frank in 1967 and his niece Lisa in
2000.

Ignacio R. (Ronnie) Mateo III

CLYDE- In loving memory of Ignacio Ronald (Ronnie)
Mateo III, a caring son, brother and dedicated father,
who passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October
18, 2007 at the age of 38.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday
(October 22nd) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral
Home, 87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services and
burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the Mateo Children Educational Fund, c/o The Lyons
Bank, 4 William St. Clyde, NY 14433.
Ronnie was born on October 11, 1969 in Geneva, NY
the son of Ignacio and Lilly Figueroa Mateo Jr. He
had been employed as a pole barn builder by Finger
Lakes Construction / Park Lane Construction in Clyde
for over 20 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, hunting,
fishing and snowmobiling.
Surviving are a son, Ignacio R. Mateo IV of Clyde; his
daughter Marlee Grace Mateo of Clyde; the mother of his
children Andrea Fratangelo of Clyde; his mother Lilly
Mateo of Clyde; his father Ignacio Mateo Jr. of
Waterloo; his brother Erek Jon Mateo of Maryland; his
sister Angela Lynn (Jeff Mattoon) Mateo of Waterloo; his
maternal grandmother Carmen West of Waterloo; his
maternal grandfather Angelo Figueroa Sr. of Lodi; his niece
Alivia and nephew Jeffrey; his companion Holly Paddock
of Savannah; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gilbert L. (Kenny) Kinnetz

CLYDE- Mr. Gilbert L. (Kenny) Kinnetz, 87, of 11470 Turnpike
Rd., died Sunday (October 21, 2007) at Newark Manor
Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday
(October 23rd) from 4-8 PM at the Baris Funeral Home,
87 W. Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held
at the funeral home on Wednesday (October 24th) at
11AM with the Rev. Neil Spaulding, Pastor of the
Sennett Federated Church officiating. Burial will follow in
Spring Brook Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Clyde
Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433
or to the charity of one's choice.
Kenny was born on October 10, 1920 in the Town of
Tyre, the son of Karl and May Kent Kinnetz. On
December 25, 1941 he married the former Helen J.
Mason. He served in the Army Air Corp as a B-24 gunner
during World War II.
Kenny had retired from Gould's Pumps after many years
of service. Mr. Kinnetz was a member of the Clyde
Grange #33POH, and had served as the Master, he was
also past Master of the Tyre Grange. He was the
chaplain for the American Legion Brown - DiSanto Post
#226 in Clyde; had served as an election inspector for
over 10 years and was a driving instructor for the AARP's
"55 Alive" group. Kenny was also active in the Silver
Stars of Savannah, the Savannah Community Club,
RSVP Retired Seniors Volunteers and the Gould's Pumps
Retiree Club.
Surviving are his wife of almost 66 years, Helen Kinnetz
of Clyde; his son Neal (Brenda) Kinnetz of Clyde; his
daughters Sheryl (David) Potter of Auburn, Linda
(Lester) Sherman of Weedsport, Patti (Jeffery) Taft of
Clyde; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren his step-
brother Donald (Pat) Ainsworth of Auburn, CA.; his
sister-in-law Marie Marsh of Seneca Falls and several
nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Russell Kinnetz.

George E. Rattray

CLYDE - Mr. George E. Rattray, 82, of 47 John St., died Saturday
(October 27, 2007) at Newark Wayne Community
Hospital following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday
(November 1st) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home,
87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. Funeral services will be held
on Saturday (November 3rd) at 11 AM in the Christ
Community Church, 25 W. Genesee St. Clyde, with the
Rev. William Lusk officiating.
Memorial contributions to the Christ Community Church
Youth Center, 25 W. Genesee St. Clyde, NY 14433
would be appreciated.
Mr. Rattray was born in South Tilley, New Brunswick
Canada on October 10, 1925, the son of Mann and Lila
Perry Rattray. He had been a resident of Clyde for the
past 2 years, coming here from Bristol, Tennessee. Mr.
Rattray was a skilled woodworker specializing in cabinet-
making. He was an active member of the Christ
Community Church in Clyde.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine MacDougal Rattray of
Clyde; 4 sons Rev. Dana (Elizabeth) Rattray of Clyde,
Keith (Karen) Rattray of Canandaigua, Timothy Rattray
of Jerusalem, NY and Wade Rattray of Canandaigua; 9
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; his brother James
(Mary) Rattray of Canada and his sister Elaine (Pearly)
Hathaway of Canada; several nieces and nephews
